TRAINING OF TRAINERS (TOT) Ÿ Any person who fulfills the eligibility criteria for Trainers defined by FFSC (covering educational qualification for each domain job and relevant industry experience) can become a trainer. Post-eligibility match, the trainer must undergo the ToT program which is conducted by FFSC on the relevant domain job roles. Ÿ Training of Trainers (ToT) is a program for the development of training delivery skills for those who wish to become trainers in the sector of their preference and aligns them with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). Ÿ Existing industry experts can be recognized as Trainers by attending assessment sessions organized by FFSC. Trainers need to register on the Skill India Digital (SID). The above chart indicates that maximum trainers have been certified in General Assistant-Furniture and Fittings Installation (FFS/Q2202) - v2.0. Apart from this, there are 6 Master Trainers who are also Certified in multiple job roles. FFSC encourages industry experts with vast knowledge and experience to enroll as certified trainers and be a part of the skilling ecosystem. As per the data, there are quite a few trainers who have 20 years and above experience in the existing pool of certified trainers. 48

Post-eligibility match, the assessor must undergo the ToA program on the relevant domain job roles. Ÿ Training of Assessors (ToA) is a program organized by FFSC which is dedicated to the assessors in the skill eco-system. The above chart indicates that the maximum number of trainers were assessed in Assistant Carpenter (FFS/Q2201) - v2.0 & General Assistant-Furniture and Fittings Installation (FFS/Q2202) - v2.0. Apart from this, there are 3 Master Trainers who are also certified in multiple job roles. There has been a tremendous increase in the number of certified trainers by almost double the value over the last year trainer and Assessors. 49

APPRENTICESHIP Apprenticeship training is one of the most efficient ways to develop skilled manpower for the industry by using on-the- job training facilities available in the establishments without putting any extra burden on the exchequer to set up training infrastructure. It is one of the essential schemes in terms of quality of training, experiential learning, and enhanced employability. It gives apprentices a real chance to put skills into practice and helps them gain confidence in a working environment. Apprenticeship training is a course of training in any industry or establishment, undergone in pursuance of a contract of apprenticeship between employer and apprentices and under prescribed terms and conditions. Benefits to Employer for Engagement of Apprentice in their Organization Ÿ The apprenticeship will reduce the attrition rate as you Train your staff according to your job role. Ÿ Apprenticeship reduces your workforce cost in the long run as it gives you better returns. Ÿ No ESI / No P.F. obligations for keeping apprentices in your establishments. Ÿ Exemption of classroom training for the candidates who have completed their job role in basic education. Ÿ Once an Apprentice gets trained, the future manpower needs will be fulfilled within the organization. National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) – Incentives for Employers Ÿ Employer will get 25% of the prescribed stipend subject to a maximum of Rs. 1500/- per month per apprentice. FFSC's Role: Ÿ Identification of job roles that are required for the enrolment of apprentices. Ÿ Design apprenticeship curriculum keeping in mind the specific nature of skill sets required by the establishment. Ÿ Provide support to register on the portal as an establishment, search for candidates, select, send offers, and generate contracts. In F.Y. 2022-23, 233 apprentices were enrolled under apprenticeship with 21 employers across the 7 curriculums which were developed by FFSC. 51

18th January 2023: Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) organized an \"Orientation Session\", for the new industry members, via Microsoft Teams. The orientation session is a part of the new structured onboarding by FFSC for the new member companies. The purpose of the session was to make the members and their teams from various backgrounds i.e., Technical, HR, Marketing, etc. to be aware of FFSC & the Skilling Ecosystem. The session was also an introduction to the various teams at FFSC who shall be presenting their respective verticals. This would help the new members make the most of the association with FFSC and also to carry forward the word in the right direction, in the right manner. Delhi Wood 2023: 2nd - 5th March 2023: FFSC’s Skill Pavilion was a key feature of the Delhi Wood 2023 exhibition. The pavilion provided solutions for a skilled workforce for woodworking and furniture-related industries. The following were the key achievements of the Skill Pavilion: • More than 160 MoUs signed with industry partners who have become FFSC’s #SkillAmbassadors. These include 130+ manufacturers and 20+ designers and enablers. • Industry partners from 23 states and 3 Union territories, including international visitors from Bhutan, Russia, and Italy, showed interest in working with FFSC and supporting the Skill India initiative. • 7,000+ upskilling and re-skilling opportunities created. • 700+ apprenticeship potential captured. • More than 60 companies confirmed interest in setting up skill academies. • More than 40 industries expressed interest in improving the quality of instruction so that learners could be introduced to new technologies. 25th March 2023: FFSC as Skilling part for Hindustan Ki Shaan. Greenply Industries Ltd has organized Hindustan Ki Shaan Awards for industry carpenters and contractors. Mr Rajesh Mittal, CMD, Greenply expressed his joy about hosting this event. “This is an attempt of Greenply to recognize efforts of these carpenters and contractors in glorifying the beauty of Indian homes & spaces”. Attended by 140+ artists from across the country, the ceremony saw the facilitation of 4 zonal winners, and the pan-India national winner, picked from thousands of entries. A lively panel discussion, thrilling performances, networking sessions, and a much-awaited facilitation ceremony, made the gala night, a memorable one.
