Photographer: Luci Alice Photography o we’re here with Designer: Pandora Deluxe Latex Shelly D’inferno.. Hair: BettyBeeHair For anyone out there that hasn’t heard of you.. What is Miss D’inferno all about? What can I say! I’m a creative creature who’s been nesting in London for the past 6 years. I’ve been involved in the alternative creative scene doing modeling, fashion design, make-up , styling and photography.. and also fire performing. So what am I.. I’m a bit all over the place ha! 3 words to describe YOURSELF.. Fair.. Happy Aware..

S H E L LY D’INFERNO

“TELL US ONE THING THAT PEOPLE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU”I laugh every time I get into my bed because it’s gonna be so cosy! You mentioned fire performing.. so you’re a real life dragon! What is it about performing that excites you? Would youYes! How did you get into this? recommend it to others out there?Indeed! I might be little on the outside but these lungs can With fire performing it’s all about the power of fire mixed withshoot out some decent flames! I started fire performing whilst the adrenaline of being on stage. It’s a powerful almost ritualisticplanning world domination with my fire group, Pyrohex about feeling sometimes. Especially when you learn to dance with your1 1/2 years ago. I used to poi when I was 16 so I already had equipment and get into a sort of trance (no drugs involved!) Ithe moves, I just needed to learn what fire was all about; very never get into that trance on stage though, the adrenaline is toodangerous but it’s actually a lot tamer than I thought. Nowadays high and we’re stressing out about lighting and putting out firesI perform with fire horns, sai daggers, staves, boom poi and ..there’s no time to relax!more. Things have gone amazing for Pyrohex and we’ve had If you are drawn to fire performing, of course, try it out.a great response since the beginning. We have continuously Practice with your equipment unlit & lit in the company of andeveloped and improved our shows and are active when it come experienced performer until you know what you’re doing.to discussing new ideas and opportunities. We know you better from being in the group Pyrohex..What made you want to take this up.. its not an everyday kind to anyone out there, drop us a few lines telling us what exactlyof hobbie.. they’re all about..Like I mentioned before, I’m a bit all over the place, haha! I Pyrohex is a fire family, we’re a bunch of funballs who gotjust love all forms of expressing myself within every aspect of together to spark up the entertainment scene with fire skills andcreativity. I wanna do it all, I couldn’t stick to one thing/style. a badass image.Even if you look at my modelling portfolio you’ll be quick to seeI don’t only shoot one certain style.

21 SHELLY D’INFERNOYou must have had some mad timesin the group.. whats the weirdestthing to ever happen, on stage or off? Most times are amazing times, butno matter how professional you are, accidents can happen. We once hadSununu’s beard catching fire onstage!now we joke about it as our new trick;Fire beard. A tiny spark from my firefans once landed on Rebecca Crow’shead and caught fire while she wasgrinding. I was lucky to see it in timeso it didnt burn alot. You can laugh at tiny fire accidents, butyou gotta take safety very seriously asa small fire can in no time not be very‘small’ anymore.Does performing come naturally oris it something that you’ve perfectedover time? As modelling andperforming are two different thingsall together!I’ve always been a good dancer, I thinkits something you can both be bornwith and practice. THE BEST WILL OF COURSE BE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BORN WITH IT ANDPRACTICE HARDWhen it comes to moving onstage it’ssomething that just comes naturally tome, but we do have some routines thatwe have to train and remember.

Going onto modelling.. the alternativeindustry is forever changing andanyone with tattoos nowadays thinksthey’re an alt model..would you agreethat you have to embrace the wholelifestyle to succeed in this industry?I don’t like to look negatively on things;if you consider yourself a model and itmakes you happy to call yourself that,go ahead! It’s in the eye of the beholderto decide if you “earn” it or not, justlike everything else. Some wouldn’t callanyone a model who doesn’t 100% liveoff photoshoots, even if they shoot asa hobby 20 times a week :) Same as aperson who draws 3 lines could classifyhimself an artist, while someone elsewould just see 3 lines. However to actually succeed andstart making a living off modellingyou have to take it as a full-time job.The photoshoots are only 20% of thewhole thing, the rest is promotion andnetworking to get yourself out there. That’s if your’re self-managed of course. What 3 things would you say to anyonethinking about taking up modelling..any experience points? You HAVE to see it as a full-time job, constantly update and do shoots, constantly network and create contacts..“FIND SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE!”Big one here.. if you could only doone for the rest of time.. would it beperforming or modelling? It’s hard..But as I’ve been modellingfor so long now I’d choose performingbecause I feel it’s an area I haven’t fullyexplored yet!Are there any newcomers into ourindustry that you think are killing itatm and are definites to look out for?Clearly Romanie Smith, she is just onpoint. Really talented girl, started young, handles her social media perfectly andseems to be shooting all the time! Ireckon she’s gonna be huge :)Do you have an idol or inspiration?I love Gwen Stefani’s image, but I’dsay my role-model is Tank Girl. She’sgot badass style, is great fun, raw anddoesn’t give a shit!

5Where do YOUwant to be in years time? ASaLmeLansooverwthp.el.ace “ Be good, do good and you will feel good. A massive thank you to those who’ve appreciated my work. I think about how lucky I am to be working with my hobbies alot. It’s an absolute blessing!”

Photo : Emily Lowrey PhotographyWords : Simone Dominique apa o this month TS You guys have been a we caught band for a long time, how up with Papa did it all start? Roach as PR Well, we started in a small they toured town in California, young the UK. teenage kids with nothing After an else to do. We found a way epic 20 years to do something creative and as a band, positive instead of causing we found out what trouble around town. This makes their latest album was our outlet. I was 13 years different and what they old when we started the band, really think of Bring Me just playing in a garage for The Horizon.. the love of punk rock and hardcore. We were just crazy, wild young wing nuts.TS Your new album, F.E.A.R, is out now- what TS How are the fans reacting to the new album?was it like to create? PR Everyones f*cking loving it!PR The creative process was different this time.Usually we write a bunch of songs and then go to “EVERYONE’S REALLY DIGGIN’ IT..”the studio with the songs and ideas, but we didn’tdo that this time. We just went to the studio like“whatever happens on this day, happens” and theideas were on the spot and we wrote and recordedthe songs at the same time, so it was a creativechallenge. It was a bit nerve racking at first but thenwe listened back to the first few songs and were like“this is coming out badass!” We just had to make ithappen a dozen more times and we had a record. It forced us to be more spontaneous. Whateverhappened in that moment we worked with it. Itreally captured the essence of Papa Roach in thatmoment in 2014. There are some songs on the record that are a little it different, like Gravity, which features Maria Brink from In This Moment. And our fans are really feelin’ it, the vibe’s real good with this one.

27 Papa ROACH TS So what should your fans expect from a Papa Roach tour? PR You know, that P-Roach energy that we bring, we’re always like in your face, at the edge of the stage. We’ve been brushing up on a load of our old songs, so we’ll be playing a lot of Infest. We actually just did a show in London where we played the whole Infest record, it went off, it was crazy! Some of the songs we hadn’t played in like ten years so we had to brush up on those, but we still bring it, we still have that fire!TS Whats your favourite song to perform? TS Where’s your favourite play to tour?PR My favourite is Scars, cause the crowd PR For real, the UK is always awesome. Germany and the UK just have real rock fans.sings pretty much most of that song and People who love heavy music and like to come out to shows and go wild and get crazy, thats cool to hear.. And its a little bit more and you don’t get that everywhere.. The States are getting a bit better, they try, but theyof a chill song so I can give my head a can be a little too cool sometimes..rest, I don’t have to bang my head aroundso much.. But Last Resort of course, and TS So your music taste is pretty TS I’m sure they’d love to hear that! HaveAngels & Insects, something about that diverse? you got anything you wanna say to yourone.. PR For me, Im not much of a super fans in the Teen Spirit Universe? metal head, I don’t spend all my time PR Come out to our shows! Come see Papa “IT IGNITES THE at home just rocking out to metal all Roach live, I guarantee you’ll have a blast!CROWD THE MINUTE the time, but I have been checkin out Its one of those things you can’t download,WE BUST INTO THAT what these new bands have been doing. you don’t get the full experience if you The new metal bands, they’re calling watch it on YouTube! You gotta be in the ONE.” it nu-nu-metal! We’ve been hanging moment, at the show. You can check out our out with a lot of those guys- Of Mice new record, FEAR - Face Everything AndTS Are you doing any festivals? And Men, and Bring Me The Horizon, Rise - its out right now, and we’re touringPR We have a few planned in Germany and they’re cool. They grew up listening to the word so theres no excuses you can catchEurope, but as far as Download, Reading P-Roach, so I’ve been going back and us everywhere!and Leeds we’re still waiting to figure that checking out what they’ve been doing Check ‘em out! F.E.A.R is in stores andout. We might be doing Download, but and listening to their stuff, I like it.. available to download now!we had a really good time at Reading andLeeds also.. But we really wanted to solidifyus doing our own headline shows, thatswhy we did this tour. We get to play a wholehour and half and really show the fans thefull broad depth of P-Roach in its entirety. Its f*ckin 20 years as a band, thats a lot ofsongs we got to play!TS If you were to create your own festival, what would be the dream line up?PR I’ve been part of some badass festivals, but I’d like to make it really eclectic, likedifferent genres of music. I like a lot ofthe new bands that are out there, but Ithink Papa Roach should be on the bill, somewhere high up of course! But alsosome of the bands I grew up listening to, I’dlike to have like Deftones, Rage Against TheMachine, The Prodigy ‘cause they alwaysbring it! Nine Inch Nail, Janes Addiction..Then some hip-hop, some reggae, all that

Model: Kelly Eden et’s start at the beginning, what was it that made you want to get into photography in the first place? I come from avery artistic family. In school whileother kids were in sports, I was in thedark room processing my own images.I learned to process film when I was 13.I dreamt of having my own darkroom. The science of it was therapeutic. Incollege I studied art and I was really intocharcoal and real life drawings. Aftercollege I decided to go to beauty schoolto have a trade backup plan. Keepingbusy tends to be my vice. I received mycosmetology license and did a lot offreelance jobs doing hair and makeupfor photo-shoots. While building myportfolio I wasn’t crazy about some ofthe artistic choices the photographersI was working withwere making. So, aftera lot of frustration,I saved up, bought a ROMANTICIZINGcamera and starteddoing my own THE ALTcomplete concepts;hair/make-up/styling/photography and WOMANediting. Now I onlydo photographyand editing on myQuestions : Zach Redrupshoots and work with Model Sarah Mudleamazing teams forhair and make-up. I’mknown to occasionallydo full work for someof my creative projectsthough. You specialise in tattoo portraiture, what aspect of this line of photography do you feel you enjoy the most? With my artistic background I was drawn to portraiture. That’s probably why I love black and white photography so much. It translates so similar. I would love to be a fashion photographer and honestly fight it, but portraiture comes naturally. Tattoos came later. I actually started in the pinup genre. Being a black and white photography junkie, George Hurrell is my absolute favourite photographer. In the pinup world there are a lot of tattoo models, so the crossover was organic. I knew I had to become more modern to be relevant, and I loved the idea of romanticizing the alt woman. If you look at my body of work, it’s quite girly. I am in love with the feminine contrast view to alternative art.

JENNAKRACZEK Model Sarah Mudle

Model Červená Fox Wardrobe: Wonderland Was there a particular moment or shoot in particular where you decided that photography would be much more than just a hobby to you? Haha! I actually consider it a paid hobby. I’m currently not taking private clients and am fortunate that I get to pick and choose projects to work on and models to work with. I’m highly selective on who I work for and with. This is really my artistic outlet. I actually have another career. One day I’ll make photography my career full- time, but with a family and to keep up my lifestyle, the paid work has to be way more consistent. Are there any other areas of photography that you’ve experimented in? I’m working on becoming more lifestyle friendly and doing more story lines. I’m always trying new angles, editing styles and studying my favourite photographers styles. I’m insanely self-critical, but I believe that this pushes me to become a better photographer.

31 JENNA KRACZEK hat has been your most challenging shoot or project to this day? I actually don’t have a super challenging shoot. I’m a preparation nut, so every shoot is super planned out and runs fairly smoothly. My biggestchallenge is becoming more mainstream.I know I have to branch out of portraitureand do more lifestyle photography if Iwant to be more mainstream and grow asan artist and a career. The business sideof things tends to be the most frustratingpart because, at the end of the day, I’mtrying to make this a sustainable career. We can’t all live off trade projects. Is there something that you’ve ever wantedto do with photography that you’ve beenunable to do so far for one reason oranother?Yes! I would love to have an insane TimWalker budget. “MY IMAGINATION AND TASTE IS EXPENSIVE”I am definitely stunted by my resources.I rarely get guarantees and don’t shootprivate clients, so most shoots I floatfinancially. It’s a big gamble. Sometimes Imake a profit other times, more likely, it’sa loss. This business is not for the faint ofheart; it’s a labour of love.

AS A SELF TAUGHT PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONEASPIRING TO HEAD INTO THE SAME AREA OF WORK?My advice would be to not be afraid to suck or to fail. Once you get over that there’s no place togo but up. I am probably the most un-technical photographer ever. Everyone told me that I hadto become more technical which became a reason not to be a photographer. Guess what, I didn’tlet this deter me. Do I know more now than I did when I first started? Of course, but could Isit around a table and geek out over f-stops, lighting formulas and aperture speeds? Um, no.The learn as you go approach does work, and with the internet and all the millions of opinionsand resources out there, there’s not really any excuse not to do anything. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Also, don’t compare your work to others. This is one of those pieces of advice Iwish I could accept myself. There’s an inherent need to want to fit in, but as individuals we allsee the world differently. People contact me to discuss my style of photography. I actually don’t think I have a style, but I guess I do. It’s just the way I see the world. “ Thank you for taking the time to read my blurb and for taking interest in my work. I appreciate all of the support.” Questions : Zach Redrup

risten Leanne here with the latest and greatest from my crazy life! First off, thank you to all the Teen Spirit readers for finding me on social, and for all the messages, questions and kind words. You guys are so inspiring that I decided to create a blog, so that I can share and interactwith you in more depth. My blog; www.KristenLeanneStyle.com features my fitness journey, travel, fashion, makeup, hair, and all my YouTube videos, so be sure to catch up with me there. On to another exciting announcement, I am now one of the owners of Arctic Fox Hair Color!!! I did a YouTube review fortheir hair color a few months back, and I loved it so much that I had to be a part of the company. Not only is the colorvibrant, gorgeous and long-lasting, but Arctic Fox is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and we give 15% of our proceeds back tocharities that help fight against animal cruelty. Now that’s a cause I can get behind!!! I love animals, sometimes more thanpeople :p, and now I get to dye for a cause. So yeah, the last few months have been super busy to say the least, so I wanted to also touch on how my fitness and health choices have helped me keep up with my busy schedule. Wait, what?!! Yes... spending 90 minutes in the gym will actually give you more productive time in your day. I hit the gym five times a week for weight training and cardio, and if I didn’t I would never have the stamina and focus to take on my schedule and what life throws at me. Taking a little bit of your day to focus on “me- time” and on your own health and fitness will pay you back ten-fold. We all have a million excuses, but lucky for us, we have YouTube to show us every exercise under the sun, and if you still need more ideas or motivation subscribe to my channel (YouTube. com/KristenLeanneStyle) or my fitness Instagam @KristenLeanneFit.IG: @KristenxLeanne Even with all theIG: @KristenLeanneFit new ventures I didTwitter: @KristenxLeanne manage to squeeze aYouTube: /KristenLeanne8 couple trips into theFB: /KristenLeanneStyle last couple months. It was a blast to see both of them, and we will be causing mayhem and breaking things in a town near you soon. :)Stay gold,Kristen Leanne xo

Model Kimi Quintoa hen did it click and you knew you loved taking photos? Art has always been one of my greatest passions. But it was shortly after high school (at the age of 17) when my dad gave me his old Minolta film camera with a few rolls of BW film. I began to experiment with film in my late teen years, and just fell in love with the art. How would you describe your photography? Classic/Modern Glamour Portraiture. Is there a particular photographer you idolise or want to be as good as? I have several favorites that cannot be compared. Tho, my greatest influence is Raphael Mazzucco. He is a fine artist and photographer that captures the very essence of a woman’s beauty. I also admire the work of Lara Jade, Annie Leibovitz & Paolo Roversi. We need to thank you first off for taking some of the insanest photos we’ve ever seen of inked up babes.. But what made you get into photographing tattooed women? It was happenstance. My fiancé (Danny Casler) founded the Pacific Ink & Art expo with his friends in 2012. It was a historical event that moved mountains. But not to get sidetracked, the following year (2013), he asked me to produce their very first Hawaii Tattoo Calendar. My work has always been focused around swimsuit and beauty since I grew up in Hawaii, so it was a fitting job for me. The only difference here was learning to photograph not only a beautiful woman, but also showcasing the art on her skin. Behind every tattoo there is a story, and I became interested in learning these stories. As I began shooting more tattoo models, my work slowly began to evolve and crossover into the tattoo industry by chance. Since then, I have been known to be one of the photographers on island that photograph tattoo models.

JAYMIBRITTEN Model Angelique Rayne

Model Sophia Vagrant

43 JAYMI BRITTEN What separates your imagery from others? I believe everyone has their own unique way of capturing beauty. My choice of shooting outdoors is one thing that separates me from other tattoo photographers that prefer indoor studio settings. “I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SHOOTING ANYWHERE NEAR THE OCEAN; IT ADDS A NATURAL BEAUTY TO MY IMAGES” If you could shoot with anyone in the world who would it be and why? Raphael Mazzucco (Swimsuit Illustrated and Victoria Secret Models photographer). He travels to these beautiful exotic locations around the world and works with incredible models. I can only imagine how talented and fun his creative team is as well. I would love to learn from him and experience his photography and mixed media process. The photographic industry is a tough one to get into, what advice would you give anyone who is looking to get into it? Work hard to develop your skills and produce high quality work at all times. You never know whose going to stumble upon you. Always be prepared for those once in a lifetime opportunities. Say ‘yes’ to projects that will challenge you, and always seek to refine your craft - whether it is learning new methods or practicing the same thing over and over again until you’ve perfected it. Beauty is everywhere; it is up to you to go out and find it, photograph it, and share it with the world. People will not see your work if you don’t share it. You can be very talented and amazing at your craft, but no one will know who you are if you hide in a shell. Believe in yourself and never lose your passion... let that drive you. “ Thank you for your love and support. I hope to meet you in Hawaii one day”Model Kimi Quintoa

BERNADETTE MACIASSo I’m Bernadette Macias and I’m I’ve just turned 18 and want to get my first tattoo.your brand new advice columnist Is this too young and do they stretch over time?for Teen Spirit. I’m here to answer Amber , Portsmouth | UKall your problems and questions Although 18 is the legal age to get tattooed I recommend notyou may have and give you the best going too big at 18.. Meaning opt for a small piece and take yourpossible advice I can to make sure time getting your next one. I got my first tattoo at 17 and althoughyou have a stress free life! You I would never get what I got then, now... It reminds me of howshouldn’t stress out over anything far I have come and so I in no way regret it. I see too many 21so if you want to ask me something year olds covered in tattoos and It just makes me cringe becausethen drop a question my way over at you change so much as you grow up despite how much we [email protected] to believe we will never change as young adults. Now, I am not saying I look down at any of these 21 year olds as many of myIG: @msbernadette current friends were fully covered by their early 20’s. I just worryTwitter: /itsmsbernadette how many of those pieces gotten at such a young age will not beFB: /BernadetteMacias representative of who they will be as adults. So my advice is this, if you feel you are ready for your first tattoo, by all means get one but please space them out and take your time. There is no race to the finish line in body art. As for stretching, tattoos do not stretch over time unless your body gets bigger over time...

Photo : Mannon Pictures SwimWear : Fresh Peaches Makeup : Laretta James I’m a wimp when it comes to needles and pain. What method do youusewhenyourgettingtattooedtogetthroughit..eeeeekhelp! Jessica , London | UKOh my, lol! anyone who knows me knows that I am a baby when I gettattooed. I have literally cried during tattoos and immediately afterthem.. Honestly, my best advice is to not take any drugs or alcoholwhile getting tattooed.. I tried drinking once during a side piece andit made the pain so much worse.. Everybody is different, but my bestadvice is to not go out the night before a tattoo appt.. Get a full nightsrest, eat a healthy meal before your appt, & be mentally preparedfor it...So have a check list; Sleep well, Eat healthy, Positive mindset,Good music.. :) I’ve been hiding my tattoo from my parents for a couple of months now but summer is approaching!.. what should i do?! Ryan, New York | United StatesWell there really isn’t much you can do but prepare yourself forhow you will let your parents know about your secret tattoo... As it isbound to be brought to light, my advice is to sit your parents downand let them know beforehand.. Let them know how much the piecemeans to you and assure them you put a lot of thought into it beforegetting it. I can’t promise your parents will accept it at first but withtime I am positive they will.. Just remember to talk to your parents ina none aggressive or defense way. Im an up and coming model but not sure where to start off really.Where did you start? Hannah ,Wellington | New ZealandMy general advice is this; Set up a ModelMayhem.com accountstrictly for TF shoots which will build your portfolio.. Once you havea decent portfolio, email your best 4 images to companies you wouldlike to work with. Remember quality over quantity.. Its better to send2 amazing images rather than 4 “ok” images. Also, one bad image cantake away from the rest. So look at your portfolio and choose yourBEST 4 images and start emailing them to companies and lettingthem know you are interested in working. When I started out, I usedto google companies that use tattoo models and then I would emailthem relentlessly. I wasn’t focussed on Magazines, I was focussed onmodeling print because I know that would lead to magazine exposure. Also, choose who to shoot with wisely... Its important to shoot withgood photographers who know what they are doing.. You don’t wanta ton of bad quality images floating around of you so be selective ofwho you work with. Im a plus sized model and i find the industry really hard and challenging. I don’t want to give up but i don’t know what to do. please help!Lottie , Birmingham | UKDO NOT GIVE UP! Did you know that a plus sized model (AshleyGraham) was featured in Sports Illustrated annual Swimsuit issue?Or have you heard of Tess Munster who is a very famous plus sizedbeautiful model?.. There are many plus sized models doing big things. If I were you, I would google companies that work with plus sizedmodels & I would send them my portfolio. Don’t give up on anythingyou love doing.. It may be a harder road or take a bit longer to achievebut nothing worth having is ever handed to you. I’ve started modelling and when i pose i never know whether to smile or do the “model intense look” what would you recommend works well?Kat , Ohio | United StatesHaha I am kind of known for smiling during my shoots, not that thoseimages always get used but my philosophy is to enjoy what you doand to be yourself while doing it.. I am very focused when I shoot soI do the “model” face at times but I also enjoy what I do so Im notafraid to have fun & smile which helps to relax me as well.. My adviceit to be yourself and enjoy what you do.. If you are not comfortablewith poses, look in the mirror and practice. Find out which poses areflattering to your body and which faces look relaxed and beautiful onyou.. Try to remember to always relax your face while shooting. I try tonever be too intense in my face as that can cause involuntary “Ducklips”, squinted eyes, or the “I need to poo” face..

o we’ve got a worldie alert going down right now, releasing the inner heat of the Teen Spirit universe.. Phoenix Taylor. So for anyone that doesn’t know you.. Tell us a brief description about yourself.. I’m an alt model, Avant - Garde performer, fire breather, business woman & proper London girl! You’ll see me supporting & embracing strong women, pushing boundaries, dabbling in various exciting projects and not caring what opinions people have of me; Oh and I drink lots of tea! What’s your background in modelling? When and why did you get started? Was it for the glamour? The money? Pure Kicks? I’ve always been a bit naughty & mischievous so alt modelling has always interested me. I am also a performer so I think the 2 go hand in hand, I’ve been asked to model along the way so that’s how its developed. I am quite a big character and have a unique style, which I think helps me get noticed and gets people interestedin shooting with me. The money is obviously a plus but I think doing anything for money isn’t a goodenough reason to do something. I love performing, expressing myself on camera & its great that I getto work with some amazingly talented people, see different places and be myself while doing so! It’s afun job, every week is different and exciting.

How would you describe your style? What advice do you have for other aspiring models?I definitely don’t follow any ‘trends’ I never look at what’s on the If you are aspiring to be an alt model, then just be yourself andcatwalk, or what colours are ‘In’ this season. I suppose my style is make sure that you stay true to who you are. When you are startinga mixture of things, but my 2 essentials that you will always see me off try to network as much as you can, work with as many crediblein no matter what time of day or what I’m doing are.. and good photographers as possible and never do anything you are not happy with - Photos are there for life and the internet I own 1 pair of flat shoes can be your worst nightmare!! If you are looking for an agency which are converse and to represent you NEVER pay to join! Your image is your work so are only worn under make sure you stay fit and healthy, eating well to keep your skin extreme circumstances fresh is important and just generally making sure you are ready haha. I love clothes that to shoot or work at all times, modelling work can be really last are quirky, fierce, feminine minute so you don’t want to rush a complete body pamper the & figure showing and love same morning as a shoot!! statement accessories that How do you prepare for a modelling shoot? are really chunky and As I said in my advice just eating well, drinking a lot of water andheavily embellished – I’m a bit like a magpie, if it’s shiny I’ve making sure you generally take care of your appearance as workalready picked it up! I really enjoy finding amazing vintage pieces, can be really last minute and you always want to be prepared,I shop everywhere from little local markets, vintage markets, high even if you have a shoot coming up in advance. I personallystreet, designer brands and online boutiques and mix them all always drink 1 hot lemon water a day which I find to be a miracletogether. in a cup; It helps boost your immune system, aids digestion andWhat is fun and rewarding about modelling? bloating and keeps your skin clear. I also just make sure my nailsI think the type of modelling I do is based heavily on me as a are always done, my hair is always washed and my tan is toppedperson & how I choose to look and style myself – which is up (but tan is not for everyone, I’m just a secret tan addict Shhh!!)amazing! Being an alt model, people are booking you or wantingto shoot with you as they like your tattoos, how you dress, your What distinguishes a goodattitude etc which makes it so much more fun for me! I’m not a model from a bad one?simple ‘clothes hanger’ that’s just there to show clothing and has Whether you’re a highno say in anything. Its great being yourself and working because end model, alt model orof who you are! Its rewarding to constantly meet new amazing commercial model you needand interesting people, I have a lot of close friends that I’ve met personality and need to bethough modelling and performing which is lovely. able to sell whatever youWhat do you dislike about modelling? are modelling for. It may beThe cold!! Modelling & performing a lot in the UK and in not a sexy lads mag, it may be aa lot of clothes means I am always cold! So when I get to work pair of shoes or a makeupabroad its absolute Heaven! Also, It’s always a bit worrying not brand but you can’t do theknowing what photo of you the client is going to choose to use. Its same ‘Blue steel facial’ innot like doing 30 selfies in your bedroom and carefully selecting every photo for every client (has anyone seen the film zoolander?1 that you like and posting it, you have someone else choosing a Haha) Its good to know your body, what angles look good andphoto of you, so you are always hoping that you’ll be as happy what positions are flattering. Again you can’t just know 3 poseswith it as them! that make you look great and use them all the time, over time you get to know posture and moving freely while making sure you always hit strong poses. What distinguishes a good photograph from a bad one? A photo is a still, nothing moves or speaks so it needs to be powerful. As long as you look at a photo and it provokes some form of emotion weather its lust, happiness, naughtiness or sadness the photo has done its job! What are some things you dislike/hate about the fashion industry? Everyone who works in fashion whether you are a model, photographer, make-up artist, designer etc we are all creative big personalities and you do get a lot of people in this industry who blow their own trumpet – which I hate!! You do get to hear a lot of “I’ve been doing this…” , “I know this guy who….” , “Ohh yess Ive just worked with this amazing…” Zzzzz!!! But aside from the odd plonka’s along the way.. It’s all fun! What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field? Knowing Ive managed to be extremely successful and established in my field would be fantastic. Iv’e always got my fingers in a few pies and working on various projects, I always want to push boundaries in my career and do things that people wouldn’t dare to. I am a free spirit so as long as I am motivated, working, have lots of opportunities and things are going my way I love the excitement of not knowing what is next! I’ve come to realise being in this industry, I can be here one day and half way round the world tomorrow and I’m enjoying that at the moment! I would say that at the end of it all I would love to put my experiences and passion into my own agency, magazine or lingerie brand and let other girls do the modelling :p Do you do any other hobbies outside modelling? I wouldn’t say hobbies but I am a real thrill seeker! I love big theme parks, go karting, racing, advenure parks and trying new things. So when I can, I’ll organise a Crazy day out getting dangerous and dirty! You mentioned Inked Dolls.. What are they about? InkDolls are a collective of tattooed models & performers run by DJ & model Sallie Axl. Within InkDolls there are fire breathers, dancers, arielists, circus acts, burlesque performers and more, we travel around the world & perform crazy stage shows to the sounds of Sallie Axl on the decks! It’s a very strong, female group and we are all about giving women confidence and embracing strong women! Do you enjoy being on stage with the girls? What’s the craziest story you can tell us about performing? I absolutely love it!! It’s great to perform with girls you have a real bond with as its makes it so much more enjoyable. You can also push boundaries and make each show completely different. I’m not giving anything away you’ll have to come and See us, but it always gets Crazy up there!! ;) “Thank you for Supporting me and Following my Journey – Its not done yet! It’s lovely to see people enjoying what I’m doing! I’m all about supporting women and helping boost their confidence, and I’m so glad people can see that about me!”
