Unpaid Internship Agreement (page 1) This is an agreement between_________________________________ (“Intern”), and Good Life Fiancial partners. The purpose of this educational internship is for Intern to learn about Good Life Financial Partners business and gain valuable insight and professional experience. The term of this internship begins on _________________ and ends on _________________. Terms of Internship: 1. TEMPORARY WORK ARRANGEMENT. The intern understands that this is an internship ONLY for a temporary duration of time as specified above. 2. MODIFICATION/EXTENSION. The time-frame and terms of this agreement can be modified or extended, if both parties agree, in writing. 3. VOLUNTARY WORK ARRANGEMENT. This is a voluntary work arrangement between the employer and the intern for mutual benefit. 4. TERMINATION. Either party can terminate this agreement effective immediately at any time for any reason. If possible, two weeks written notice is preferred. 5. NO GUARANTEE OF HIRE. The intern agrees to cover any out-of-pocket expenses related to the internship including (but not limited to): equipment (computer, printer, camera, and other required equipment), supplies (paper, pens, etc.), phone and internet equipment and service, professional wardrobe, travel and transportation (car maintenance and insurance, gas, parking and parking tickets, planes, buses, subways, trains, taxis), meals, lodging, and work space accommodations. Any expenses that will be covered or reimbursed by the employer should be clearly listed on the Allowed Expenses Addendum at the signing of this agreement.8. LEARNING CONTRACT. Instead of monetary/financial compensation, the intern will receive on-the-job learning, mentorship, training, and skill development as set forth in the learning contract addendum.9. ACADEMIC CREDIT. If the intern desires academic credit, it is the intern’s sole responsibility to obtain his/her school’s permission, approval, and academic credit for the internship. It is the intern’s sole responsibility to obtain and supply any required paperwork (before, during, and after the internship) to the employer in a timely manner several days ahead of submission deadlines. It is also up to the intern to make sure that any completed paperwork (including reviews, progress reports, final evaluations, or other information) is returned to the school before submission deadlines To support the intern’s endeavor to receive academic credit, the employer agrees to fill out any paperwork provided and supply any other information requested in a timely manner in compliance with deadlines.10. WORK PERFORMANCE. If safety is a concern, the intern. should stop work immediately and contact his/her supervisor for further instructions. • Accurately track and report work hours. • Follow the Mutual Code of Ethics Addendum (if applicable) • Intern will maintain a regular internship schedule determined by the Intern and their supervisor. • Intern will demonstrate honesty, punctuality, courtesy, cooperative attitude, proper health and grooming habits, appropriate dress and a willingness to learn. • Intern will furnish his/her supervisor with all necessary information pertaining to my unpaid internship, including related assignments and reports. • Transportation to and from the internship site is the responsibility of the Intern. 11. DELIVERABLES. The intern understands that this is a learning experience in a work environment, however, there are real negative financial consequences and damage that can result to the employer if the intern fails to deliver quality work by a designated date. Therefore, the intern agrees to complete tasks and projects and deliver them on time. If the intern is not able to do so, the intern will give reasonable notice. 12. CONFIDENTIALITY AND NON-DISCLOSURE. The intern agrees to keep all company information, particularly highly sensitive information such as client contact and payment information, company financials, business and marketing strategies, and trade secrets, confidential and will not share this information with (or make it accessible to) third parties. This includes protecting sensitive information that may be stored in digital or hard files in the intern’s possession as well as user-names and passwords used to access online information. 13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. Confidentiality AgreementIn the course of employment with Good Life Financial Partners (GFP), with either full-time, par-time or internship status, employees may have access to “Confidentialinformation” regarding GFP, which may include its business strategy, future plans,financial information, contracts, suppliers, customers, personnel information orother information that GFP considers proprietary and confidential. Maintaining theconfidentiality of this information is vital to the GFP’s competitive position in the industryand, ultimately, to its ability to achieve financial success and stability. Employees mustprotect this information by safeguarding it when in use, using it only for the businessof the Company and disclosing it only when authorized to do so and to those whohave legitimate business need to know about it. This duty of confidentiality applieswhether the employee is on or off the GFP’s premises, and during and even after theend of the employee’s employment with GFP. Addendum: Learning Contract (page 1) A learning contract is not a binding legal agreement; rather, it is a statement of what the intern would like to achieve and receive through his/her internship experience, and what the employer/supervisor will aim to provide to the best of their ability. However it is a 2-way street. It is up to BOTH the intern and the employer to work together to fulfill the contract. The learning contract should be revisited regularly (even weekly during progress meetings) to make sure that both parties are working diligently towards its fulfillment. Please feel free to write on the back or continue on a separate piece of paper if you need more room. Ideally the employer and intern would fill this out together prior to the official start of the internship or during the first week as one of the first assignments.
