The sergeant further alleges that Ntsale had also tel- ephoned the deputy minister to ask him to intervene on her behalf, but the cops would not budge. “The minister was defied and told in no uncertain terms that the cops would not release her. “The police told the minister they were carrying out their duties as per the dictates of their oath and that no one was above the law,” said the source. Approached for comment, deputy minister Mathale de- nied ever telephoning the Douglasdale police station, but confirmed he personally knew the lanky and luscious Nt- sale. “I did not talk to any police officer from the station (but) yes I do know her,’ said Mathale. Ntsale’s claim to fame is that she is a former fiance of popular filmmaker Lebo M. The pair were supposed to tie the knot but parted ways before she could walk the aisle with her beau, the million- aire producer of the internationally acclaimed film The Lion King. Her social media accounts states she previously worked for the SAPS, but no mention in what capacity. Repeated attempts by Weekly SA Mirror to obtain com- ment from Ntsale drew a blank. The news of Ntsale’s arrest come in the wake of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s recent an- nouncement that they were arresting more women suspect- ed of drunken driving. Mathale, whose famous words are that to be an MP (or public servant) means to serve the country, is a former and third premier of the Limpopo province. He resigned as premier in 2013 and previously served as Deputy Minister of Small Business Development. There was concern the case docket may have gone missing on Tuesday morning when NPA spokesman Phindi Mjonondwane told weekly SA Mirror the matter could not be found in their registers. But later Captain Masondo confirmed that a case of recklessness and negligent driving was opened at Douglas- dale police station and the suspect was arrested on July 26. “The suspect was then taken to Randburg Magistrate court the following morning on July 27,’ he said.
