BPI Family Savings Bank (BFSB) Retail Mortgage Division continued to build on its strengths and maintained its position as the leading thrift bank in the country. To strengthen their corporate social responsibility, they provided 200 health kits for our children during Brigada Eskwela, initiated “Alkansya Project” for 87 Grade Five learners and conducted Christmas gift giving for 100 learners and 20 teachers. 83

The Supreme Pupil Government is a student body. It serves as a venue for elementary pupils to develop their leadership and social skills. Officers of this organi- zation function as leaders in the school. Through concerted efforts and cooperation, they can achieve their objectives and be able to help the school attain more of its goal. Creating a SPG Hub An area where the officers can have their meet- ings, planning, and reports. It serves as an infor- mation desk in assisting the needs of the students. 84

As part of the worldwide observance of the International Women’s Month, Timoteo Paez Elementary School proudly takes part in the celebration. The theme “WE MAKE CHANGE WORK FOR WOMEN”, emphasizes that women should be ac- tive drivers in bringing about positive changes, and that they should also reap from the fruits of development, thus empowering women. Exchange of thoughts and ideas sparks up the teachers’ interest to become more inquisitive about the provisions enacted by the Republic Act No. 9710. As Mrs. Marie Alyssa C. Dacasin, a licensed Social Worker compre- hensively explains the Magna Carta for Women. 85

GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM To make the school more gender – responsive, the Timoteo Paez Elementary School strengthens its effort in promoting Gender and Development (GAD) within its stakeholders. It adheres to the principle that development is for all and ensures and benefits among faculty personnel, staff, parents, as well as learners. To address the level of awareness on Gender and Development (GAD) concepts and issues, School GAD Focal Point System conducts seminars for learners and parents. The Gender and Development Advocacy and Awareness Seminar 2018 for Grades Four, Five and Six was held last November 13, 2018 in the TPES LRC at exactly 8:00 in the morning. Several group and individual activities were conducted to encourage and maximize learners’ participation. The participants were very willing to share their experiences related to the different topics discussed during the entire seminar. 86

A one–day seminar on Gender and Development with a theme “Parental Influence on Children’s Gender and Development last December 4, 2018 was attended and participated by all the Homeroom PTA Presidents. This seminar gives impact of parental influence on gender role development. It aims to inspire and empower parents to be agents of change to contribute in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women. This seminar underscores impact of parents on gender and development. It implements effectively the GAD programs and projects for the Fiscal Years 2018 and 2019. Each of the four groups is given their chances to present their activity output. The participants came to realize the significance of the event and how critical it is for parents, working as agents of change, to be gender sensitive. 87

To manage the policies, implementations and guidelines, the school was monitored by the Regional Librarian, Ms. Nancy Mabunga on August 24, 2018. She provided technical assistance to teacher librarian and LRMDS focal persons in order to main- tain LRC’s development and appropriate storage of learning resources. She also vis- ited classrooms to monitor learners’ maximum utilization on issued textbooks. As one of the recipients of SME’s, Ms. Amy Du- mail, EPS-LRMS – Camarines Norte moni- tored the school’s Sci- ence Laboratory where the materials are stored to ensure the teaching learning effectiveness and utilization of Science and Math in basic edu- cation. She had also a brief and friendly inter- view with Mr. Rafael An- tonio- School property custodian regarding the procedures on ac- ceptance, inspection and recording deliveries of materials. 88

Facilitators of the 2018 MTAP Saturday Program for Regular Students Collaborative learning is highlighted in the MTAP Saturday Program For six Saturdays, TPES became a center for the MTAP Saturday training for regular students from July 10, 2018. The MTAP Saturday sessions aims to improve learners Mathematical skills from Grade 1 to 6. It also aims to foster cooperative learning and make Mathematics more fun and interesting to learners. 89

Scouters performs their prepared presen- tations afterwards. Sctr. Elijio A. Banog and Ervin O. Escobar leads the Camp Fire while Sctr. Annieflor Fajilagmago sings the song “Camp Fire Burn- ing” as the rest of the scouters sing along. 90

Pamittan, the twinklers coordi- principal gave her inspirational talk nator did a formal investiture in welcoming to the scouters and visitors. the new members of the Girl Scout family. Tita Ruby B. Lucar played a caterpillar and ball relay with her scouters to develop their agility. Tita Karen L. Magno taught her scouters the basic information about the importance of the GSP logo and their uniform. She also let her scouters to color the pic- tures relevant to her topic to fur- ther enhance their coloring skills. Ms. Sailey R. Magallano, our Program and Project Coordinator gave her closing remarks. 91

Junior Master Chef is a food service pupil’s activity to engage kinder children with preparing simple snacks. It is a school-based competition that gives opportunity to the kinder pupils to show their skills and creativity in preparing snacks like sand- wiches and salad. Conducting Junior Master Chef Competition in our school is an in- novative way to increase pupil’s participation in our school program. Pupils learn how to create a healthy snack, encouraged and to eat a healthy diet and allow them to become comfortable in making healthy decisions for themselves. Our School principal, Mrs.Glenda D. Tabaquirao together with the judges during the introduction of participants. These are the healthy sandwiches made of our learners. 92

Timoteo Paez Elementary School is humbled and deeply honored for having been visited by the Division of Borongan, Eastern Samar for benchmarking the TPES School-Based Management (SBM) last October 12, 2018. The Division of Pasay City - Public Schools District Supervisor of Cluster 3 Dr. Azucena L. Evardone graced the visitors, together with TPES principal Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao as they formally opened the short program hosted by Mr. June Ryan M. Macarandan. The program also included the brief overview of what comprises of SBM as discussed by Dr. Lovelynn Jane S. Bacera, Cluster 4 PSDS and the Division SBM Coordinator. 93

To showcase the talent of TPES pupils, visitors were later on serenaded by the TPES Rondalla, with Mr. Leonardo Bruno Jr. as the conductor. Afterwards, Mrs. Rowela R. Cadayona, Master Teacher II and TPES SBM Coordinator, led all the par- ticipants to proceed to the SBM room to have a closer look of the documents they need to establish their own SBM in the Division of Borongan, Samar. The TPES teachers along with the GPTA officers and Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao also guided the participants on a mini tour in the vicinity of TPES – in- cluding the Reading Corners per grade level for the Read and REAP, as well as the Special Science Class classrooms, and Gulayan sa Paaralan. The benchmarking vis- it was not complete without the sumptuous lunch served after all the activities that took place. Indeed, “Working together works!” as other school divisions start to notice the hard work TPES put into building a more systematic and comprehensive School- Based Management. 94

Every school year the Department of Education has been administering the Early Language Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (ELLNA) for Grade Three stu- dents who are now in Grade Four. The assessment aims to determine if learners met the grade three learning standards in language development together with the other subjects. The assess- ment results will be used to develop appropriate intervention programs which will help improve the performance of the children in language both written and oral re- spectively. 95

This picture was taken last November 20, 2018 for the video presentation (Dalaw Patron sa Paaralan). This organized activity aims to promote the devotion to our patron saint not only for those who already knew him but also for our students here in our community. Our pupils watching the short presentation about the importance of gadgets to our family as one of the best way of communication. After watching the vid- eo ,pupils give their insights based from the Theme: Ma- panuring Paggamit ng Gdget , Tungo sa Mapagka- lingang Ugnayan sa Pamilya at Kapuwa. 96

Shoebox Project is a gift–giving ac- tivity sponsored by the Metrobank – Retail Banking Sector for three con- secutive years spearheaded by the People Management Division (PMD). The shoeboxes will be dis- tributed to employees who are will- ing to give donations/gifts for less privileged children. Each shoebox has school supplies and toiletries amounting P500. Recipients of the shoebox project were selected pu- pils from Kinder to Grade Six. 97

As part of the Science Month celebration, one of the highlight activities during the culminating program is the search of Mr. & Ms. KALIKASAN 2018 Pageant. This is a personality and intelligence contest of selected pupils from every grade level that is basically aiming to introduce an innovative pageant focusing on the Environmental/ Ecological Intelligence or the EQ (Ecological/ Environmental Quotient) of the candi- dates and at the same time, promote this concept among the constituents of the school and its community. The said pageant composes 4 major contests each has a corresponding per- centage. These are the fund-raising activity, talent competition, Kalikasan costume contest and the Picture and Answer portion. The fund-raising activity has been derived from “kalakal”. Kalakal pertains to any material such as plas- tic, metal, used papers, magazines and old newspaper that can be con- verted into money from the official junkshop. One of the objectives that the organization has crafted was to generate fund from a worthwhile activity which involved pupils’ participation. The organization has proposed the concept, “May Pera sa Basura” which is very aligned to the objective of the organization and at the same time a timely and significant step to reduce waste problem. 98

Family Fun Day is one of the activities implemented in the school, to promote the collaboration between the parents and teachers which has a great impact on the totality of a child. The emphasis of Family Day is not on competition, but on commu- nity interaction through participation in sporting games and enjoyable physical activi- ties in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The Grade-I teachers organized a Family Fun Day which was held in the TPES gym. Each section in the Grade-I level showcased their performances dedicat- ed to their parents. Everybody enjoyed the fun-filled activities. Parents likewise their children shared their sumptuous food while sharing their experiences about the said activity. 99

Truly, “Batang Paezeños “ are active, intelligent, brave, and good models to other students. Safekids advocates conducted a room-to-room teaching based on the basic knowledge they acquired on using the road by understanding the road traffic crashes, traffic terminologies, the different road signs, the signals of traffic enforcers, drivers and pedestrians to the next batch of advocates-grade for students. “Believe in your- self and all that you are.Know that there is something in- side you that is greater than any obstacle” –Christian D. Larson. Safekids advocates were divided into 6 partners .Each partner was assigned for 3-4 sections to teach.These kids were so amazing because they were so excited to teach and they did their very best by doing their own teaching styles and techniques just to make sure their co-learners are interested to listen for the benefits of all. Kuddos to these advocates who had potentials in teaching. 100

TPES in the first Division Iispel Mo Contest . Mr. Librado F. Torres CID Chief and Mrs. Glenda D. Tabquirao TPES principal IV congratulated John Lois Picana a Grade Six learner. TPES bagged the Second place in Regional Festival of Talents in Madulang Pagku- kuwento in Filipino held in Aurora Quezon Elementary School, San Andres, Manila. 101

Rondalya Para sa Lahat is a gathering of rondalla groups representing various sectors of the society. It was held in November 9, 2018 at the Abelardo Hall, UP Dili- man College of Music. Representing the groups in the public schools, TPES Ron- dalla is joined with other groups such as the OB Montessori Rondalla (private school), Talayan Community Rondalla (community), NCCA Rondalla (adult govern- ment), UP Rondalla (university group) and the Celso Espejo Rondalla (family/adult rondalla). The event is organized by the University of the Philippines Rondalla, in coop- eration with the UP College of Music Junior Music Education Guild (UP JMEG), Phil- ippine Society of Music Educators (PSME) and the National Commission for Culture The TPES Rondalla posing in the promotional tarpaulin before the performance Another special event organized by the NCCA and the Celso Espejo Rondalla (CER), the event brings together 5 groups who becme recipients of the outreach pro- gram initiated by the CER. It was held at the NCCA Auditorium, Intramuros, Manila, on December 1 and 2, 2018. Along with other groups from Naga City, Baguio City, Nueva Ecija and Isabela, the TPES Rondalla actively participated in the workshop on rondalla playing conduct- ed by no less than Maestro Celso Espejo. It culminated on the second day with a concert featuring all the participating groups. Mr. Leonardo Bruno Jr., Conductor of the TPES Rondalla was one of the facilita- tors of the workshop. Vince Rome Lising, an alumnus of the TPES Rondalla, was the conductor for this momentous event. 102

The Grade Six Family Fun Day whose theme is “Pamilyang Pilipino: Pami- lyang Salu-Salo” began at 8:00 in the morning which started with the registration of parents and pupils, followed by the opening program. Then, mothers and fathers were led to their respective rooms for the seminar proper. The seminar resource speakers discussed about Digital Parenting, which is mainly about guiding children on the proper usage of social media. The three re- source speakers were Carmen Vicente, RSW, Dr. Rowena S. Navera, and Col. Luis Marciano P. Navera. Simultaneously, grade six pupils were oriented on the im- portance of social media and the do’s and don’ts they must follow for their own safety in using them. Afterwards, the holy mass was celebrated by Rev. Edgardo Coroza to keep the spiritual faith of a family intact and was followed by the sumptuous lunch shared by families in every group. Presentation of performances took place right after lunch as well as the games and raffle draw. The grade six Read and REAP achievers were also awarded, as well as the parent who shared their part in reading the reading cor- ner castle where all the remedial reading classes are conducted. The Family Fun Day ended with a word of thanks from Mr. Renato U. Polo, Master Teacher II, who expressed his gratefulness in all the families who attended and for their never-ending support. 103

Brigada Eskwela, also known as the “National Schools Maintenance Week”, has been a meaningful activity for the school and all the other sectors of the commu- nity. Other than ensuring that schools and classrooms are ready for the opening of classes, Brigada Eskwela has been an effective way in rekindling the concept of unity or “bayanihan” in the hearts of many Filipinos. The TPES Brigada Eskwela 2018 has been a huge success. For an entire week, TPES welcomed several volunteers from different public, religious and private organizations who did not only donate cash and resources but also personally helped the parents, teachers and pupils in cleaning rooms, repainting walls and even re- pairing chairs and tables. The implementation of Brigada Eskwela is very advantageous especially to the teachers and the learners thus TPES toughens its partnership with its stakeholders in order to encourage more volunteers each year. 104

The importance of art in the life of a child has a huge effect in their emotions and performance. Children loves creating different genre of art and appreciate their own output and others too. This is the subject in the school that they can express themselves well and it helps them improve self-awareness that eventually can lead more success later in life. In the recently concluded Twelfth International Fo Guang Yuan Young Artist Award with the theme “Happiness and Joy” Drawing Competition, two of TPES Stu- dents were awardedas honorary mention and included in their magazine in the up- per Elementary Division, Erlinda Natividad of Grde 6 Section Sagittarius and Middle Grade Division is awarded to Tracy Angeline MAngao of Grade Five Section Sun. Certificate of recognition was awarded to the young artists with the supervision of their trainer, Mrs. Tracy Q. Bruno. TPES Art Coordinator. 105

Parents of the young and generous helpful boy Mr.& Mrs. Joy Carillo and Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao lead the distribution of P. E Uniforms to TPES recipients of David Share The Happiness Advocacy Scholarship Program to selected Grade Six pupils last September 10, 2018 at the LRC. David T. Carillo and his sponsors conducted The David Share The Happiness Party for 100 pupils of TPES through a Feeding Program in the morning and after- noon session together with our selected 20 Grade Six scholars on November 10,2018 at the TPES school covered court. 106

Timoteo Paez Elemetary School set the stage for the 39th Pasay City Schools Press Conference and Contest (PCSPCC) held last August 31 to September 1. The event marked the first time that more than 1000 elementary and second- ary campus journalists from both public and private schools gathered together for the highly anticipated annual journalism contest. Mr. Abraham Archangel “Bam” Alegre of GMA News and Public Affairs served as the event’s keynote speaker where he highlighted the importance of campus journalism and how he was overjoyed to see students actively participate in similar conferences. 107

Field trips contribute learning in life of students. It gives chance learners to have an educational experience that they never had in the classroom. Field trips help students to interact with what they are learning and able to see things with their eyes rather than reading about it. It also provides entertainment, social interaction and new experiences to the kids, teachers and parents that is why Timoteo Paez Elementary School let their pupils to experience the outside world. The Kindergarten pupils and parents are excited in their fieldtrip even the rains are pouring. You can see the happiness and excitement in their faces. Field trip destinations are waiting to them to visit such as Aguinaldo Shrine, Gardenia, Ginger Bread House and Padizoo. Parents, pupils and teachers are having their picture taking in the Aguinaldo Shrine. 108

Learning is not only acquired in the classroom but also outside the school. Educa- tional field trip is one of the school activities which provide students with real world experiences that they could never have had in the classroom. It is in this activity that students are more about enjoyment, excitement and fun and it is a free day out of the classroom. Aguinaldo Shrine is the first iterinary place. The students likewise the par- ents had a tour in Aguinaldo’s palace. They actively listen and watch the video on how GARDENIA bread was made. 109

The tour facilitator of the GBH welcomed the guests, with lively K-POP music and the children enthusiastically grooved to the music. The grade two learners’ savored the experience of feeding the animals at the Paradizoo Farm in Tagaytay City. 110

Learner’s learn not only inside the four corners of a classroom but also in the surrounding they live in. In this regard, Timoteo Paez Elementary School includes field trips in this academic year to allow and expose the learners to all the things they have been discussing inside the classroom. Field trips act as a medium of learning, that help widens the learner’s experiences. It is also a way of teaching learners to ap- preciate the heritage of our country, to understand the preservation of species earth has to offer and most of all, to have a quality time with their love ones, specially their parents. A grade three learner enjoys feeding the rabbit at Paradizoo, Tagaytay. Learner’s smiled as they posed in front of our Philippine heritage, the Aguinaldo Shrine at Kawit Cavite. 111

Educational School field trips are important and effective means of motivating students and engaging them in active learning experiences outside their everyday activities. Field trips give students access to culture, history and art that maybe missing out from the regular curriculum. The Grade Four students with their parents and teachers took part in this activity. Children with their parents and teachers were excited in the different places and ac- tivities which they have indulged with. 112

A fieldtrip is a journey by a group of people to a place away from their normal environment. When done for students, it is also known as school tour. The purpose of the trip is usually observation for education, non – experi- mental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday ac- tivities such as going to different places with their teachers and classmates. The aim of this activity is to observe the subject in its natural institutions outside the school and fieldtrips provide a common ground with more advantaged and less advantaged children to have some of the same cultural experiences. The Grade Five of Timoteo Paez Elementary School conducted their Educa- tional Fieldtrip on December 6, 2018 at Aguinaldo’s Shrine, Paradizoo Farm, Ginger Bread House and Gardenia Factory. The objective of the said activity was to explore the places as part of their lesson. To give importance of the places of our history. To get some information about the places they been and enjoy the beauty of nature. 113
