Once more, TPES teachers proved that they are not only best in teach-ing but also talented in dancing. TPES Teachers’ Dance Troupe showedmodern folk dance and won first place in Division Teachers’ Got Talent2017 with the theme ‘’Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso ‘’. Therewere nine schools from elementary and secondary schools in the Divisionof Pasay who competed for the crown. The dancers were Cheryline Y.Pulvera, Lina E. Moldez, Luzviminda J. Pahuyo, Jamaica B. Soriano,Cherry Pie Pauig, Lea N. Cartin, Mary Ann D. Agoto, Emelyn Arienza andRobert Irinco.
To strengthen a gender responsive school community, the schoolconducted Capacity Building and Seminar – Workshop for GAD FocalPoint System. This is the first step toward making TPES an active partnerin the promotion of gender and development in the Schools DivisionOffice of Pasay City. GAD Focal Point System actively participates to capacitate theirknowledge and skills about Gender and Development concepts, genderissues and legal mandates for responsive school setting.

Unity and synchronized movements made TPES the Best Implementerof Wellness Campus Program 2017. The winners in Quiz Bee, Poster Making and Reading Proficiencyreceived medals and certificates during the awarding ceremony. Three sweet little girls in Grade 3 wowed the judges with theirarticulation and fluency in English during the Story Reading Contest.
TPES has a high regard on school-community relationship becausethe collaboration between parents and teachers has a great impact inthe development of the totality of a child. With this, family fun day is oneof the activities the school has implemented to promote the importanceof family closeness. It is said that education starts in the family. Thus,the school makes sure that parents are involved in some school-relatedactivities. The Grade VI pupils showcased spectacular performances dedicated to their parents. They presented famous folk dances including Tiklos, Dayang-dayang, Pantomina and Polka Biana. The Grade VI Faculty organized a family fun day which was held in the TPES Gym where parents together with their children enjoyed several fun-filled activities. Parents and pupils also shared a sumptuous lunch while conversing with each other.
Shoebox Project is a gift giving activity of the Metrobank - NationalBranch Banking Sector (NBBS) spearheaded by the People ManagementDivision (PMD) to which shoeboxes will be distributed to employees whoare willing to give donations/gifts for less privileged children. This wasthe 2nd year Shoebox Project of the NBBS which made the Paezeños feelthe true essence of Christmas. The beneficiaries are from Kinder toGrade Six pupils. Ms. Yolanda A. Banog, Adopt – a – School Coordinator distributesgifts to the selected learners from Kinder to Grade Six.
Rev. Edgardo Conosa Coroza discussed the topic Christian Practiceof Rearing Children to ensure that the parents and the school go hand inhand in molding the pupils’ morals. Ms. Myrna C. Comoja, Social Worker Officer III DSWD NCR, speakerof the Grade VI Parenting seminar, tackled the topic Legal Rights andResponsibilities of Child Rearing to promote good parenting amongparents and guardians.

The Red Cross youth volunteering pro- gram aims to educate and empower children in the spirit of the Red Cross through constructive trainings and ef- fective leadership and provide opportu- nities for directing and harnessing their energies and idealism into worthwhile humanitarian values, instills the prac- tice of healthy lifestyle, and enhances youth leadership through service and advocate friendship and camaraderie. To help in maintaining the cleanliness of our school, cleaning materials from SM Foundation were of great help. MID-EVALUATION CONSOLIDATED REPORT OF THE READ AND REAP PROGRAM S.Y. 2018-2019 68
There is a great improvement among the Read and REAP participants in their reading abilities according to Mid Year Evaluation. Based from the table, there is no more NR enrolled under C8. This means that these children were distributed to other classification. C7 participants from grade 4 who can only read letters last Jun can now read syllables/ words, while 34 from C6 participants were reduced to 17, 50% of them improved. However, C5 participants were only 5 last Pre-test, there are 21 of them during the conduct of Mid Year Evaluation an increase of 76% can be seen. This only mean that participants from C8, C7 & C6, C3 & C4 improved in their respective category. There were 0 participants in Pre-test but Mid Year Evaluation has 17 69

From grade 5, 3 NR of C8 improved with their reading abilities according to the table. There were no more C8 during the Mid Evaluation. Zero participant in C7 during the conduct of Pre-test. However, Mid Evaluation result has 1. This could mean that it came from C8. 16 C6 participants were promoted to above categories. It can be seen to mid evaluation result that there is only 1 leftbin C6. While C5 partici- pants reduced participants to 11 from the original 17, this means 65% improved. Visible improvement under C4 can be seen in the table. 14 participants during the conduct of the Mid Evaluation compared to 0 last June. 2 participants can now read sentences & 7 participants can read short paragraph without comprehension while 1 part from C1 can now read Short paragraph with comprehension. There are 4 grade six participants from C8 during Pre-test however these 4 improved from reading. No more C8 during Mid Evaluation. 6% of improvement among C7 participants can be seen which means 8 of them were distributed in other categories. While C6 participants increased 2 more part which means there is a probability of these 2 came from C7 and C8. C5 increased 1 from 7 to 8. Most probably participants came up lower category and original participants were promoted. A great improvement of 6 participants in C4 can be seen which means they can now read phrases during Mid. Evaluation. 1 part from C3 can now read sentences while there are 2 participants from C2 that can read Short Paragraph with- out comprehension. 70
Read and REAP (Reinforce and Empower Academic Performance through reading) The school principal Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao, orients the parents about the significance of the Read and REAP Program for the struggling readers. On behalf of the full cooperation of the teachers, the parents are expected to give their commit- ment in preparing their children to positively respond to the program. This unique reading program inspires teachers in Timoteo Paez Elementary School as they are encouraged and motivated by our charismatic school principal Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao to work collaboratively in decorating reading corners inside the classrooms, stairs, walls and along hallways. The teachers’ engineering skills and craftsmanship in creating reading corners allow the students to experience different worlds in imagination and a creative/ interactive process among others. 71
For the struggling readers. Likewise, the “Champion E-Sana” group have al- ready gave a cash donation for the stuff toys needed as a reward in the Read and REAP program.It is the goal of our educational system to require the involvement of the different stakeholders such as administrations, school heads, teachers, staffs, parents, community members, local businesses, and non-government organizations to actively invest in the welfare and success of the school. As expected, stakehold- ers must immerse and should work collaboratively with the school projects and pro- grams that would give the best interest for its benefactors. Recently, our school have accepted the voluntary participation of the “Binhi Project” to be part of the remediation program Hopefully, this program will not only benefit the struggling readers but also motivate the teachers, parents and the students to successfully achieve zero non- readers in our school in order to accelerate the literacy level of the learners. 72
Athletes and Coaches combined their skills as they bring home again the championship last Cluster meet. They bagged 116 medals in total (78 gold, 23 silver, and 15 bronze). This goes to show that Paezenos do not only excel in academics but also in extra-curricular activities especially in sports. TPES is fortu- nate enough to have a balance beam for the very first time in a very long time. This will be useful for training ath- letes of Gymnastics. BERT participants enjoyed how to make some improvised materials that can be used in different disasters. They also tried to prepare themselves on how to manipulate the fire extinguisher and the fire fighter truck water hose . TPES is the BEST. After all the activities and challenges given in the BERT Camp ,TPES BERT standout with pride by the guidance of SDRRM coordinator Mr. Elijio A. Banog and BERT Adviser Mr. Rowel S. Borja as the BERT Team bagged three special awards namely: Best in Yell, Best in Skit, and Best Presentation in the said affair. 76
One of the yearly events that is celebrated in the Philippines is the “ Buwan ng Wika at Kasaysayan”. The annual celebration of Buwan ng Wika is in line with Proc- lamation No. 1041 series of 1997 which declares the celebration of the event every month of August.The History Month is observed in August by Virtue of Proclamation No.339 signed on February 26, 2012 by then President Benigno C. Aquino III.The proclamation moved History Week, observed from Sept. 15 to 21 to August and made it a month long celebration. In line with this month long celebration.Timoteo Paez Elementary School con- ducted relevant activities and integration of significant events in our country and to their daily lesson. The highlight of the celebrations are ,the yearly parade that are participated by the learners wearing Filipiniana Costumes, parents, and teachers then followed by a short program. Every month of August, we at Timoteo Paez Elementary School celebrates “Buwan ng Wika at Kasaysayan” to show the importance of our national language, Filipino, history and culture. It was a month long celebration. In line with that, string of activities in the different grade level were done in consonance with this years’ theme, “FILIPINO: WIka ng Saliksik”. It was a showcase of various talents thru dances, songs, poems,poster and slogan making. 78
The Science month celebration started with a parade last September 4, 2018 at exactly 7:00 in the morning where candidates participated to represent their respective grade level. After the parade, the celebration was formally opened with the message of Mr. Roni P. Sapad, Science Coordinator stressing the month-long program of the activities. Pupils enhance their cre- ativity in creating new products out of non- biodegradable materials. Every year, the school conducts two In-Service Trainings aim to assure a high level of expertise and enable the teachers to keep their professional skills and knowledge updated in their field as well as with the newest pedagogical approaches which are adjusted to the needs of the millennial learners. It also aims to enhance and strengthen one's teaching practice through keeping abreast of knowledge and developments and able to reflect on his or her own teaching practices. The Mid-Year In-Service training happened last October manifested an effective strategy for teachers to enjoy while learning the week-long training despite cancellations due to inclement weather. Teachers showcased their creative minds to come up with great presentations and active discussions. 80
Timoteo Paez Elementary School strongly believes that Special Science Class learners are blessed with innate Filipino traits of warmth, hospitality and passion for culture. Upholding high academic standards, SSC students also endeavor to partici- pate actively in co-curricular activities in adherence to SSES’ vision-mission of devel- oping each learner holistically. On September 6, 2018, the SSC held its First Culmination Program featuring various ethnic dances from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and C.A.R. The mesmerizing and attention grabbing performances of each grade level created an enjoyable, fun and sometimes heart-stopping atmosphere. The event, especially the performances, was very successful and was well-received by the parents and guests alike. The par- ents, teachers, school superiors and guests present congratulated the SSC family profusely for the enthralling performances they rendered. Everyone is positively looking forward to the next showcase of these artistic, creative and young talents.
