Message from the Guest of Honor It gives me great pleasure to pen this message on the occasion of the appointment of Rtr. Akhila Wijetunga as the 7th President of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo - Faculty of Management and Finance. Although your membership as of 1st July started at 71, it is important that you place emphasis on increasing the membership throughout your year. The more hands you have in the Club will make it much easier to facilitate service projects. Rotary values all Rotaractors to eventually become Rotarians, as we desperately need young blood to continue effectively leading the Rotary movement. As most of you may know Rotary has amended the rules to permit Rotaractors to simultaneously be Rotarians. The importance of fellowship should not be neglected when performing the Rotaract activities. In conclusion I wish you and your team a very successful and eventful year as President and congratulate the Outgoing President – Hiruni Perera and her team for a job well done. With Best wishes, Yours in Rotary service, Rtn. PHF. Senaka Amarasinghe District Governor - 2016/17 Rotary District 3220 Sri Lanka & Maldives

Anuradha Senanayake, I sincerely believe that the Rotaract club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance will achieve greater heights and new levels. Rotaract movement is a prestigious movement which each and every member should be proud of. Rotaract gives the opportunity to gain leadership qualities, execute projects, and serve the needy while enjoying friendships. Knowing the club's capabilities, I'm quite confident that this club will exceed everyone's expectations this year. Wishing the President & the members a highly successful installation ceremony & a fruitful Rotary year 2017-18. Engage Rotaract & Redefine Friendship! Rtn. PP Bobby Shrinivas District Rotaract Committee Chair – 2017/18 RI District 3220

Message from the District Rotaract Representative The Rotaract Club University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance can be introduced as one of the most recognized institute-based Rotaract Clubs in Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives, and as the District Rotaract Representative for 2017- 18, I consider myself honoured to pen this message on the occasion of the Club's 7th Installation Ceremony. The club was charted on the 18th October 2010 by Rtr. Mifra Ismail and after him six presidents lead the club to greater heights. Within a short span the club has grown into a dynamic organization with more than 70 members belonging to different race, religions, ethnicity backgrounds and coming from different regions in Sri Lanka. The diversity in Membership has always been a great strength to the club and the theme for the year 2017-18: TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK truly lives up to this. RACUOCFMF is known for the successful projects such as Future for Us, Glass Ice, Beat, Kingspin and the club Blog is considered to be one of the most successful blogs in the District. RACUOCFMF has always managed to keep a close relationship with the Rotaract District 3220 and have been instrumental in driving Rotaract Sri Lanka and Maldives into an influential youth organization. \"Engage Rotaract- Redefine Friendship\" is the theme of Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives for 2017-18, and in my opinion, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance has the ability to move to greater heights under this theme due to their status as a strong Club in the District. Redefining friendship is all about fellowship and networking and I hope RACUOCFMF would organize more innovative initiatives that would promote this theme while engaging with the main aims of Rotaract i.e. community service and personality development as well. RACUOCFMF from its threshold has been continuing to win awards for their remarkable work and bring international recognition to the entire Rotaract District. The club has been recognized as the Most Outstanding Club in the District for two consecutive years along with many other awards. For the past 7 years RACUOCFMF has shone its light and has got the opportunity to do good for the society and as well as for its members. The Club has always thrived under good leadership, and I would like to congratulate Rtr. Hiruni Perera and her Committee for completing an exceptional year. I am sure that the satisfaction they received from serving the community through the inspiring initiatives of the Club is exemplary. I would also like to extend my wishes to the incoming President Rtr. Akhila Wijethunga and his Committee for an exciting year ahead, filled with opportunities to organize more and more impactful initiatives while continuing the legacy of the club. Rtr. PP Anuradha Senanayake District Rotaract Representative RI District 3220

Message from the President 2016 - 2017 Taking the office of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, from last year’s success of being one of the most outstanding clubs in the district was definitely a challenge for me and my team. The bar was raised high and so were the expectations on us. But, my members got together as a family and carried forward the theme of “Teamwork makes the Dream work’’ for this year as well; making it possible for us to overcome the challenges and develop ourselves as one team and one family. However, as the immediate past president of this amazing club, I am extremely proud of and forever grateful to my team for making the past year’s dream work. The projects we organized and took part helped creating life-long friendships; an unrecorded achievement which means most to me as a Rotaractor. I would like to make this an opportunity to look back on my first message as the president. Quoting myself I wished, “after a year’s time we’ll look back and say, yes! Together we had a fantastic year in Rotaract.” I am thankful for those who made it possible for that dream to come true. Viva la Rotaract IPP Rtr. Christeena Hiruni Perera President – 2016/17

Message from the President 2017 - 2018 I consider it my greatest privilege to have been offered the opportunity to lead the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Management & Finance; as the 7th President of the club. I am determined to build on the outstanding achievements of the Club over the years, and work on its further growth for the future. Since its founding 8 years ago, the club has experienced many changes; growing in terms of quality and quantity to become one of the most outstanding clubs of the Rotaract District 3220, Sri Lanka and Maldives. We are immensely proud of our accomplishments and the things that make us unique. Making a difference through novelty, team work and service will continue to be the main focus area this year and I hope that we will be successful in conquering this mammoth task ahead of us by working together as a club and as a family. Our theme for the last two years; \"Team Work Makes the Dream Work\"; will continue to inspire and guide us, as we embark on our journey. We will continue to be involved in the communities that we’ve helped build. Improving the overall quality and sustainable aspect of our projects will remain a key area, while we strive to be the best we can be. The unwavering support and loyalty of our members and benefactors continue to be the foundation of our success and longevity. It is my hope that we will be able to work together in harmony and increase the visibility of our Club within the local and international community. I look forward to establishing more fruitful partnerships and working with all of you, while Engaging in Rotaract and Redefining Friendships. Finally, I would like to thank everyone from my parents, to my mentors in Rotaract and all my friends who believe in me and what I do. You are the reason I stand strong. Viva La Rotaract Rtr. Akhila Wijetunga President – 2017/18
