What are the Safe Places to Work Survey? Aim The survey aims to evaluate Indian employers on the degree of safety they provide to their women employees – safety from Sexual Harassment. We will conduct a free health-check for participating organizations from different industry sectors and geographies through the survey. Sexual Harassment of women at the workplace has been a significant concern for organizations globally and nationally. While the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressed) Act, 2013 (“PoSH Act”), was enacted to provide women a Safe Place To Work, India has witnessed a rise in the number of Sexual Harassment complaints. Empowered by the PoSH Act, we have also seen a surge in High Courts, Local Committees & Internal Committees sentencing and granting awards compensation to the victim. Stats show an increase in the number of reported cases, probably because women’s’ voices are finally getting heard across social media platforms due to the powerful #MeToo revolution. Companies are slowly and steadily adopting the PoSH mandate and carrying out “health-checks” or “climate-checks” in a pre-emptive manner.

The Need The PoSH Act Mandates Indian employers to provide Women a Safe Place To Work. A mechanism for evaluating if the spend on compliance reduces women’s concerns and increases their comfort level. Women’s safety leads to higher engagement and performance, which in turn leads to productivity and innovation, resulting in business growth. A Safe Place To Work attracts and retains talent, reduces the attrition rate, reduces absenteeism, and builds an environment of Trust and Collaboration. Customer satisfaction will be high when employee satisfaction is high. A single case that is poorly handled can destroy a company’s brand and image. SURVEY METHODOLOGY The Safe Places to Work (SPTW) survey 2020-2021 is conducted online, which the women employees from your organisation can access anonymously. Ideally, it takes only 3-4 minutes to complete the survey. It contains questions covering various aspects of organisational culture that ensure workplace safety. The survey has been developed based on extensive research and previous experiments conducted in this subject in collaboration with independent subject matter experts (SME). The SME deliberates on the relevance of each question and the scoring mechanism. All this and more is to ensure an unbiased result for the survey. POST-SURVEY REPORTPOST-SURVEY REPORT with our support to develop more targeted interventions to prevent Sexual Harassment, meet legal obligations and change the workplace culture. The study (Master Report) has been published to communicate the Aggregate survey findings and the Top Safe Places To Work List with insights on what makes them Safe. SPTW REPORT 2020-2021

Safer Places – Our Vision We, at Rainmaker, live by the motto of creating safer and more ethical workplaces. We believe that there is a strong correlation between a workplace that is safe from Sexual Harassment and one that is ethically run. In keeping with this philosophy, we are proud to launch the 2020 edition of The Safe Places To Work Survey. We launched our maiden survey last year and had 5682 women participate from over 50 organizations. The results were extremely informative, and we shared the data and analysis with the respective organizations. We received feedback from participating organizations that the survey results helped them carry out relevant and appropriate changes to policies and processes, thereby creating safer workplaces. SPTW 2020 -2021 is now aiming higher. We would like to have more corporates sign up for the survey and many more women take the survey. We would like to know how safe they feel at their workplace – from Sexual Harassment. Remember – there is no fee for participating in this survey and absolute anonymity for the women who take the survey.
