UNUSUAL RESIDENTIAL DESIGN The abandoned building with a historical texture, located in Sarımahmutlu Village of Denizli province, was restored with contemporary building materials and brought back to the texture culture it was in. 6
The design philosophy of the project is to continue the design phases by preserving the existing remnant cult and stone walls as they are during the area analysis. 7

While designing the building, all the walls in the openings that were added to the building later on, with reference to the existing cult and immobile stone walls with a historical texture, were designed to be of maximum thinness and maximum movement. 9

The walls protected in the landscape area were designed with the principle of ‘complementary’, aiming to create a unity with contemporary building materials, just like on the building. And this material has been preferred as glass in order not to interfere with the historical texture. 12

All the remnant historical walls in the study area were designed as circulation providers and guides in the site. Considering the analysis of the study area, the city square located near the area has been one of the most important data of the design. The circulation axis taken from the square direction reaches the center of the building. 18
