UNUSUAL RESIDENTIAL DESIGN The abandoned building with a historical texture, located in Sarımahmutlu Village of Denizli province, was restored with contemporary building materials and brought back to the texture culture it was in. 6

The design philosophy of the project is to continue the design phases by preserving the existing remnant cult and stone walls as they are during the area analysis. 7

8

While designing the building, all the walls in the openings that were added to the building later on, with reference to the existing cult and immobile stone walls with a historical texture, were designed to be of maximum thinness and maximum movement. 9

10

11

The walls protected in the landscape area were designed with the principle of ‘complementary’, aiming to create a unity with contemporary building materials, just like on the building. And this material has been preferred as glass in order not to interfere with the historical texture. 12

13

All the remnant historical walls in the study area were designed as circulation providers and guides in the site. BEFORE AND AFTER ‘‘AXONOMERY’’ 14

Considering the analysis of the study area, the city square located near the area has been one of the most important data of the design. The circulation axis taken from the square direction reaches the center of the building. 18

22

Considering the topographic data of the study area, a design was created that will provide integrity in the slope direction. 23

THE ART VILLAGE DESIGN The design area is far from the city center and is a touristic area due to the nearby canyon. Since the area is the focal center of the people in the surrounding villages, the people of the city and the tourists, it is aimed to use ‘art’ in order to maximize the common use in this area. SITUATION PLAN Ö:1/500 24

Workshops created jointly for each segment of society are designed to maximize interaction. 25

CONTAINER CITY - INNOVATION CENTER The vehicle road that starts from the city center and separates a large historical harbor quarter from the center and the 25-meter high retaining wall created by this road are important design data. 26

AFTER Bringing the histo- rical harbor quarter back to the city center and taking into ac- count the topograp- hy of the area while doing this constitu- te the design philosophy. The design work, which extends to the sea level with a balan- ced hierarchy both vertically and ho- rizontally, consists of containers used for recycling, taken from the port on the basis of sustainability. 29

33

Considering the socio-cultural structure of the area while designing, not only the physical development of the almost abandoned neighborhood was considered, but the innovation center was preferred as a function for social development and revitalization. 34

VIRTUAL GAME DESIGN OFFICE Open offices that can be used by all age and professional groups collectively constitute the philosophy of the design. The manifesto of the unification of all social groups meets in an interactive and active wall design that provides the union between the masses in the building design. 35
