by Suzanna Ravin Just a quick story about how I came to own my new, shiny black on black Streetglide. Some of the chapter members know how it all transpired, but for those that missed the ride to the Greenwood Grocery back in March, here’s the scoop. The journey there was a little eventful as my indicators and brake lights suddenly stopped working. It seemed like a fuse issue, but that didn’t fix it all at first, although it wasn’t for lack of trying, as many of the guys were checking it all out. It was not to be… So, upon arrival at the lunch stop a discussion ensued about how I should likely go and get a new motorcycle, because obviously mine was on its last legs due to these minor electrical issues! And, of course with our Boss Lady Michele sitting at my table, a quick call to the dealership later, and she had them searching for a bike amongst their inventory back at Fort Worth Harley, so I could check them out when I got back to the dealership. A moment or two later as I was lamenting on how I was supposed to afford this new toy, there was a whip around and a kitty of about $86 was collected as well as a Go Fund Me page that was kindly set up on my behalf! Our HOG Chapter brothers and sisters sure know how to put the pressure on. Back at the shop, there was only one black on black Streetglide, so it seemed it was meant to be. I was able to take it for a test ride, with Boss Lady Michele leading me around the route so I didn’t get lost, and I was smitten. Back at the shop we had the usual negotiations to get through, and I was suddenly the proud new owner of my Streetglide. I set out that morning with not even a remote thought in my head about a new scooter, and as if by magic it all transpired almost as if I was dreaming. Really it was all thanks to this wonderful HOG Chapter and our fearless Boss Lady Michele! Update on the naming of my sweet new “male” bike….I had some fantastic suggestions from many at the HOG Chapter, as well as friends, coworkers, and family, but….Night Fury was the ultimate winner – kindly supplied by Eric!
