About Myself My InterestsI love living on Whidbey Island where I can explore the out-doors and walk the beaches daily and see the beautifulbirds and wild flowers we are blessed with on our beautifulIsland. I walk on the Island beaches every day rain or shine.Gardening is therapy for my soul and I work with stainedglass which enriches my creativity of designing cool glass.I have a nurturing personality and I receive enormous satis-faction knowing I am able to bring a healing touch to theworld and use my massage skills to help people feel better. My FamilyI am all about family and they are a priority in my life. I doteon my nieces and nephews and love all of our get together'sespecially when we are making food or playing boardgames. Being with my young family helps me stay young! What You Can Expect From Massage Therapy *You don't need any special preparation for massage. Beforea massage therapy session starts, your massage therapistshould ask you about any symptoms, your medical historyand what you're hoping to get out of massage.Your massage therapist should explain the kind of massageand techniques he or she will use.In a typical massage therapy session, you undress or wearloose-fitting clothing. Undress only to the point that you'recomfortable.You generally lie on a table and cover yourself with a sheet.You can also have a massage while sitting in a chair, fullyclothed.Your massage therapist should perform an evaluationthrough touch to locate painful or tense areas and to deter-mine how much pressure to apply.Depending on preference, your massage therapist may useoil or lotion to reduce friction on your skin.Tell your massage therapist if you might be allergic to any in-gredients.A massage session may last from 10 to 90 minutes, depend-ing on the type of massage and how much time you have.No matter what kind of massage you choose, you shouldfeel calm and relaxed during and after your massage.If a massage therapist is pushing too hard, ask for lighterpressure.Occasionally you may have a sensitive spot in a muscle thatfeels like a knot.
