Gateway College Annual Review 2019
Show Respect. Earn Respect. This year’s theme of “Show Respect. Earn Respect” runs close to the heart of Gateway, as it resonates with values embodied in the School crest and the School song. The three interwoven squares in the crest are representative of the teamwork and belonging between Parent, Teacher, and Student, which can only be built on mutual respect. This notion is further supported by the second verse in our School song: Nurtured as we are with understanding and love We discipline ourselves no orders from above Teacher, parent, pupil, with perfect rapport Shoulder to shoulder we will march to the fore The Gateway community exemplifies how a body of people can be disciplined without the need for an order from above, where we willingly “show respect” because of our understanding and love for one another. In this showing of respect, we are then able to “earn respect” and move forward in perfect rapport to further our common goals. It is this mutual understanding between each individual of the school family that has enabled us to “Show Respect. Earn Respect”. Gateway College Annual Review 2019 1
