Teachers Staff review Teachers leave a lasting legacy in the world by providing love and support to the lives of their students by equipping them with the necessary tools to live happy and productive lives. Teachers follow students through each pivotal stage of development, from six to eight hours a day, five days a week. Much of what students learn from their teachers is not detailed in a syllabus. Teachers help students to grow as people and are responsible for imparting some of life’s most important lessons. Next to parents and caregivers, teachers are the most important people in a child’s life. Gateway College is blessed with an enviable group of qualified, experienced, and dedicated teachers. Our teachers are hand picked through a stringent process of selection and reference. Our teachers apply and adapt teaching practices to support the unique needs and learning styles of each child. We have a growing number of teachers who have completed 10 years of service which signifies a high rate of staff retention. New recruits are mentored by senior teachers as part of their induction to the processes, culture, and ethos of the Gateway family. In the fast changing world, education is also changing. As part of the changes, the role of schools and education is different both in the educational system and in society. The advent of technology has reinvented the role of a teacher. Teachers in modern classrooms are no longer lecturers, they are facilitators. Our teachers are also encouraged to develop their competencies by undertaking formal educational courses. The number of teachers with postgraduate teaching and Master’s qualifications are also growing due to the support provided by the School for further studies. In keeping with the vision of our Founder, every teacher at Gateway College pledges on appointment to be firm, friendly, and fair to students.
