Shanika Ostine is a native of Nashville, TN she has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Tennessee State University. Shanika is a woman of God, she's confident, bold, fierce, and a fighter who has never given up on herself even when life obstacles trouble her. Her career over the last decade has mostly consisted of working within the Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol field. She has worked in prisons, drug rehab programs, Juveniles, and behavioral mental health. Shanika has always had the drive and ambition of a successful entrepreneur wanting more out of life and to create a business that she could call her own. Her most prized possessions are her two beautiful daughters Julicia (16) a rising High School Junior who has a bright future ahead of her and Jada (11) who is a rising Middle Schooler going to the Sixth grade who is an excellent reader and the mini-boss of the household. Shanika has also had much success in planning events for small business owners. In 2015 she started the Nashville Business Expo to be able to give small business owners a platform to either showcase what they have to offer or just by being able to get their business name out within the community.

What should we know about Jad’Marie LLC? Once I was laid off from my job of almost six years I knew that I didn’t want to work for anyone else besides myself. I had already had one small business that was making a steady income for about five years now and I knew in order to make a decent living for myself and my children I had to come up with another business. I would hear about different people starting cleaning services and that it could be profitable. So, I did my research and invested my 401k that I had taken out due to being laid off. I took the time to get my business structured the correct way and started JAD' MARIE LLC. Which made it easy two put both my businesses under the LLC now having JAD’MARIE CLEANING & DISINFECTING LLC and JAD’MARIE COSMETICS LLC. I am currently a full-time employee at JAD’MARIE CLEANING & DISINFECTING I have three employees including myself I have a total of 7 buildings that I clean on a daily ranging from construction sites, to warehouses, office spaces, therapy offices, schools, one college, and several Airbnb’s. I provide deep cleaning for all homes starting at $150 extra for pets, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens, and much more. I also provide all cleaning supply items except toiletries, rather if it’s for commercial property or non- commercial property.



JAD’MARIE COSMETICS now offers over 30 shades of lipsticks, lip glosses, liquid matte lipsticks, matte lipsticks, and 3 lip liners. I mostly sell my products by word of mouth or through local vendor events and trade shows. I am mostly known for my willingness to succeed, my hard work, my dedication to my businesses, my hustle, and being a great mom to my children. I say what sets me apart from others is that I am willing to put in just as much time and hard work into my businesses as my employees would. I am the one person who is willing to encourage and lead when others are not willing to. I am most proud of the way that I handle things when it comes to my businesses. I am always going to keep a smile on my face, take constructive criticism and go back to the drawing board to correct what needs to be corrected. I am always going to be on time, prepared for work, and look the part for success!



Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us? My favorite childhood memory was when I was a Junior Police Officer for the Metro Police Department. Growing up I always wanted to be a Cop you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to be 5. O “LOL”. My grandmother God rest her soul worked for the Police Department for 26 years before she retired. Growing up she would take me to work with her a lot and as you could imagine I saw and heard a lot. Night court by far was my favorite. While being a Junior Police officer we would learn drills, police codes, and what it would take to be an officer of the law. Those were the good ole days.
