Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura • P rofessionals often reach a high level in their career and find there is something missing. What is missing is the “meaning” which only Christ can give. Christ satisfies the hungry heart, and as He told the woman at the well, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst again” (John 4:23). Legatus meetings and events present opportunities to engage in the Faith, meaningfully sow the New Evangelization, and ultimately find joy in the mission field. • Our Founder, Tom Monaghan, is a successful entrepreneur who is very open about his early accumulation of material things, which ultimately proved to be unsatisfying, and he knew there had to be something more. That ‘more’ was his Faith and his spiritual life in Christ. • Legatus was made for such a time as this. What the world provides, the dysfunction and the current hostility in culture, is deeply unsatisfying. At Legatus our focus is on the commission which Pope St. John Paul II gave to Tom Monaghan in 1988: “The world needs genuine witnesses to Christian ethics in the field of business and the Church asks you to fulfill this role publicly with courage & perseverance.” • Refer a friend to one of our new or existing chapters—Legatus is over 95 chapters strong and growing across the country! 11
