These participants were analyzed before and after states could expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. The two groups were followed until September 30, 2013 and December 31, 2017, respectively, with two-year survival rates rising from 80.58% pre-ACA to 82.23% post-ACA in expansion states.
