Lewisville health insurance saw a massive and long-overdue spike in new Affordable Care Act enrollments recently as more than 1 million Americans who were previously uninsured or underinsured now have proper coverage for themselves and family members. After signing up for a marketplace plan, she paid $73 per month. With the new plan, she reapplied, and her premium was reduced to $0.
Rick Thornton, a Lewisville health insurance agent said the new subsidies have been a welcome lifeline as they provide tax credits to a larger number of enrollees and help address the sudden ballooning costs some saw when their annual incomes varied. Since April 1, the median deductible for Americans signing up for new coverage has dropped by nearly 90%.
