Non-Ordained Individuals Can Become Texas School Chaplains With This Program
Whether you're a teacher or an ordained minister, or you just value spiritual education and are interested in working in schools, chaplaincy may be a great career path for you.
National School Chaplain Association provides a comprehensive certification program that will allow you to begin your spiritual and professional journey as a school chaplain. NSCA offers comprehensive chaplain training that ends with the certification to provide counseling & spiritual care to Pre-K through 12th-grade teachers, students & their families.
As a certified chaplain, you'll also organize prayer sessions and provide support for after-school faith activities and clubs. Certified teachers & ordained ministers need 48 hours of training, while non-ordained, non-certified individuals must complete a full school year of training.
If you're interested in learning more about NSCA's chaplain training program, you can visit the website to complete the initial chaplain assessment.
Your NSCA assessment will determine the level of training you'll need and will help you to understand the scope of what will be expected of you in your service as a chaplain.
