["AWARENESS RALLY An awareness rally against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was carried out by NCC cadets of the GCM NCC unit under the guidance of college principal Dr. Roy Scaria and Associate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Roji J. Kunnath. The rally started from the college and passed through Oliyapuram junction. Several members of the college, like teachers, non-teaching staff, etc., were part of the rally. The aim of the rally was to spread awareness among the common people about the harmful effects of drugs and, most importantly, to encourage parents to keep a close vigil over their children so that they do not fall prey to any untoward situation with regard to drug addition.","","CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru once said, \\\"THE CHILDREN OF TODAY WILL MAKE THE INDIA OF TOMORROW\\\", November 14 Children\u2019s Day were celebrated in the college, the cadets of T. M Jacob Memorial Government College Manimalakunnu NCC SUB-UNIT and ASSOCIATE NCC OFFICER Lt. Dr. ROJI J KUNNATH visited the nursery school near the college and gave sweets to the children there and spent time with them and gifted coloring books and crayons.The childrens were very happy when they got crayons and chocolates they celebrate their day with the cadets of the college. The nursery also decorated very childrens day is incomplete with children the happy faces of the children was the best gift for the day.","","SELF DEFENCE CLASS T. M JACOB MEMORIAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE MANIMALAKUNNU NCC SUB-UNIT organized SELF DEFENSE CALSS for WOMEN on 26\/11\/2022 at 10 am. It was arranged as part of NCC DAY celebration on 27th November 2022.The selfie defence class were under the guidance of ASSOCIATE NCC OFFICER Lt. Dr. Roji J Kunnath and SENIOR UNDER OFFICER Sreehari Saju. The class was led by Rosa K. O (Assistant Sub Inspector, Ernakulam Rural District Women cell Aluva) and Ambily M. M (Senior civil police officer, Ernakulam Rural District Women cell Aluva). Self-defence training is a life skill that helps girls to be more aware of their surroundings and be prepared for the unexpected at any time. Through the self defence training, the girls are taught to become psychologically, intellectually and physically strong enough to protect themselves in times of distress.Class was taken on how to prevent violence against women and how to save yourself. The cadets","practice the self defence tricks that taken by the coordinaters and get aware about how to act when they wanted self defence.It is an interactive session and this class were very helpful for the cadets.","PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAN Areekal waterfall is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kerala. Many people choose this location to spend their vacations and holidays, but the misbehavior of the tourists makes the place dirty and unhygienic. As a part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan on National Pollution Control Day, we, the cadets of the GCM NCC unit, conducted a program to clean the waterfall and its premises under the guidance of Associate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Roji J. Kunnath. We collected the waste materials from there, which included plastic bottles, packages of food items, plastic carry bags, and many other non- degradable items, and disposed of them properly.","","CPR SKILL TRAINING T.M Jacob Memorial Government College Manimalakunnu NCC Sub Unit conducted BASIC LIFE SUPPORT \/ CPR SKILL TRAINING FOR YOUTH programme in association with FEDERAL BANK HORMIS FOUNDATION a Federal Bank CSR initiative programme .Associate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Roji J Kunnath delivered the welcome address and Mr. Aby James, (Senior Manager & Branch Head, Br.Koothattukulam) did the inaugural speech .The class was taken by the guest trainer Aneesh Issac(AHA Certified Trainer). Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency life-saving procedure that is done when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped.Currently, about 9 in 10 people who have cardiac arrest outside the hospital die, But CPR can help improve those odds. If it is performed in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest, CPR can double or triple a person\u2019s chance of survival.","The majority of people are scared to administer CPR to someone suffering from a SCA because they are afraid they may cause further damage. With the right knowledge and training, people would feel more confident about administering CPR .The cadets who participated in this programme got an opportunity to do practice on CPR and Choking management and an interactive session was also arranged with the cadets.","","SPECIAL OCCASIONS","INDEPENDENCE DAY","We , GCM NCC cadets proudly celebrated the 75th Independence day on 15th August 2022 in our College.Independence day is always a special and important day for every NCC cadets The celebrations were started at 8:30 am in the presence of our Associate Ncc Officer Lt. Dr. Roji J Kunnath sir. Our respected principal Dr. Roy Scaria officially started the event by hoisting the flag. That moment was witnessed by the NCC cadets, passed out cadets, teachers and non teaching staffs. Respected principal shared his thoughts and motivated the young NCC cadets. The whole audience were Ill at ease to witness the grand contigent parade and the NCC band display of GCM NCC. The weeks of hardwork were not in vain; the contigent drill and the band display were far more than everyones expectation.","Event was then followed by a truly mesmerizing dance performance and a soothing group song by the NCC cadets. It proves that an NCC cadet is not only good in ground but also in the extra curricular activities. Along with this we can proudly say that the GCM NCC Band got an opportunity to perform the band in a function honouring Ex-military War heroes, held at Piravom, Inagurated by the Administrative Officer of 18 (k) bn NCC , Sri Col. Lance D Rodriguez on the same day. The whole event was the result of hardwork and coordination of the NCC cadets of GCM.","","ALL KERALA CONTINGENT CHAMPIONS","The Drill is the most powerful part of NCC. GCM NCC is always best in drill, and we proved it by conquering the first prize in Prof. A. T. John Memorial IGESIA 3.0 conducted by Newmann College NCC subunit, Thodupuzha. The competition started at 10 a.m. The college grounds were full of participants. The GCM drill team maintained discipline throughout the competition. The drill team consists of 9+1, for a total of 10 cadets. The volunteers gave instructions to the team leaders before the competition. Whole programs were well organized by Newman College.Our cadets put all their strength and dedication into winning the competition. Senior cadets of GCM NCC were with them throughout the day, giving them instructions and all their support","The continuous and rigorous practice done by the senior cadets led them to win the prize. Prizes were distributed in the closing ceremony. First prize includes a cash prize, a certificate, and the ever-rolling trophy. It was a happy and proud moment for u Holding that trophy by defeating all the other teams is not as easy as it seems. It is the reward for weeks of hard work and sweat by a group of cadets. By the end of this event, the GCM NCC 2022\u201323 batch had added one more golden feather to the unit.","","INDEPENDENCE DAY CAMP DELHI (2022)","When India completed 75 years of independence, the capital city stood tall and strong, never lowering its head. The celebrations were named Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and the entire country celebrated them in unity. As a part of these celebrations, the National Cadet Corps provided various opportunities for its cadets. Independence Day Camp was one of such events, which gave cadets much experience and chances to celebrate this festival in the national capital at D G NCC Delhi Camp Cantt. 30 cadets represented Kerala and Lakshadweep directorates and attended thecamp in Delhi from August 1\u201316, 2022. After overcoming a lot of selection trials, three of our cadets got thechance to be a part of the team. U\/O KRISHNA A B, U\/O AKASH MUKUNDAN, and CPL ARSHA SHAJI were participants in a cultural team representing the directorate that showcased the culture of Kerala and its art forms. The team was selected as a finalist in the official competition. Thus, WE got a chance to participate in the YEP cultural program. \u00a0","Cadets got the chance to interact with representatives from countries like the UAE,USA, UK, etc., which in turn gave them a memorable experience. I also got a chance to interact with the Honorable Prime Minister of India on Independence Day at the Red Fort. As part of Dillidarshan, cadets visited important historical places like India Gate, the National War Memorial, Qutab Minar, Akshardham, Lotus Temple, etc. More than three months of hard work and perseverance, along with constant support from the 18 K Bn Commanding Officer and Administrative Officer behind the scenes, helped us make it possible. After spending 16 days in D.G. NCC Delhi (the dreamland of every cadet) they returned home.","","NCC DAY CELEBRATIONS","The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act, 1948. NCC teaches qualities to young people like devotion to duty, loyalty, dedication, and self-sacrifice. We, the GCM NCC cadets, proudly celebrated NCC Day on November 28, 2022. As part of the NCC Day celebrations, many programs were arranged under the guidance of 3rd year cadets.The programs were started by 10 a.m. It started by welcoming our chief guests with the NCC band and guard of honor. The event became more grand with the presence of our chief guests, the Commanding Officer of 18 (k) Bn, Col. Virender Datwalia, and the Administrative Officer, Col. Lance D. Rodriguez. After these, the guests were invited to the main stage, where the cultural programs were arranged. Programs include group dance by SW cadets, mime performances by SD cadets, and a solo song. The rest of the programs were held in the seminar hall. Guests were escorted to the seminar hall by the pilots.","Our ANO Lt. Dr. Roji J. Kunnath, sir, delivered the welcome speech. Commanding Officer Col. Virender Datwalia and Administrative Officer Col. Lance D. Rodriguez inaugurated the ceremony in the presence of our ANO and principal, Dr. Roy Scaria. During the 2022\u201323 senior batch, many cadets attended National and IGC camps through their intense hard work and dedication, which set the reputation of our government college to another level. On this special occasion, the GCM NCC unit didn't forget to honor our cadets. The cadets who participated in the Delhi SNIC and IGC camps were felicitated by the chief guests. As a government college, it is our privilege to have the commanding officer and Administrative Officer as our guests. So an interactive session was conducted at the end of the event. Through this session, our cadets get a lot of information and knowledge about NCC, the career after NCC, etc. Each and every successful program conducted by the GCM unit shows the effort and dedication of the cadets to NCC.","","","REPUBLIC DAY","When our Nation marked its 76th anniversary of independence, the whole of Indiacelebrated like a fiesta. This year\u2019s Republic Day celebration witnesses the country\u2019s military prowess, cultural diversity, and other unique initiatives. The ceremonial boulevard of the national capital, the newly-christened Kartavya Path, that has witnessed the country free itself from the clutches of colonial rule, played host to the 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2023. Our College also celebrated in a unique way. Our Honorable Principal in Charge, Dr. Roy Scaria, hoisted the National Flag and then gave the general salute. What happened next was the moment that even the grains of sand in the college were eagerly waiting for. The GCM NCC Contingent Parade: Fast and Furious The audience watched with bated breath. The GCM NCC band started before the boot beat left the mind. Official programs have started. The chief guest was Col. K. N. V. Achari (retd). Some performances were presented that refreshed the mind and eyes.","Our former ANOs, who built a strong foundation and worked as the backbone of the GCM NCC unit, were honored by the Alumni Association of the GCM NCC unit. A handful of gifts were given to the children of the nursery near the college. UNAV: The project extending a helping hand to those who have no one has also launched. The Chief Guest gave a motivational class, and then the official program came to an end. Overall, the day was filled with a lot of memories and was inspired by the motivational words of the guests. It was the most spectacular and diverse Republic Day in the history of GCM.","","ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP","Annual training camp is always an important part of a cadet's NCC life. Those morning PT,drill, weapon training, map reading, evening games, and cultural programs impart a sense of army life to them. ATC held at St. Peter's College, Kolanchery, changed the face of GCM NCC. Although we were behind financially and in terms of facilities, we achieved success through hard work and perseverance.The biggest aim of any school or college with an NCC unit is to complete the ATC with an overall championship. It was GCM's dream, like everyone else's. As the results of the competitions were announced one by one, each became a golden feather in the crown of our NCC unit.We showed our strength by topping the guard of honor. We showed our unity to others by coming first in the Line Area competition. We were also at the forefront of leadership positions. Individual winners: U\/O Krishna A. B., well-disciplined, best-commanded institution senior, CPL Soumya K. Sivan: outstanding performance in MI and HH; CDT Nandana Pradeep: best guard commander.","Apart from all this, many prizes were also won in sports events. CPL Amrutha Rajan (400m race champion), Cdt Sara Elizabeth Saju (200m race champion), Cdt Suhail P S (800m race champion), and Cdt Lakshmi Sivarajan (200m race second runner up) As the camp was held during the Onam holidays, the celebrations took place there very nicely. We won the overall cup on our way back from camp. Behind it was the hard work, dedication, and commitment of many people. Along with NCC piloting and a smashing Band performance, we welcome him to the campus.","","GRADUATION CEREMONY The captures were taken at the time of the graduation ceremony of the Institute of Nursing Education (INE), School of Medical Education (SME), Centre For Professional And Advanced Studies (CPAS), and INE SME CPAS Manimalakunnu. The chief guest of the program was our MLA, Sri Anoop Jacob. These milestones show how the public gets impressed with our hard work and dedication. Our presence makes the function more grand and adorable.","","ATHACHAMAYAM That was a proud moment for our GCM NCC band to participate in the athachamayam conducted by the Piravom municipality It was an astonishing experience for our entire band team.
