Debbie Wingham’s Runaway Cake – $75 million  This is the most expensive cake ever and costs more than your home and car. This record was set in the United Arab Emirates by a person who did not know that it would break all records when he bought this cake. He was just in a hunt for something unique for the birthday of their daughter when they found this beautiful cake. However, when Debbie Wingham, the cake’s designer received a call for this cake, her life changed for good.

The National Gay Wedding Show’s Cake – $52 million  In 2013, this cake surpassed and broke the record that was held by the Pirate’s cake. This $52 billion worth cake was designed in 2013 for a National Gay Wedding Show in Liverpool. Designed by a bakery known as Cake, it had eight layers beautifully stacked to make it five feet tall. What makes it worth this huge price tag are over 4000 diamonds that have been embedded in this cake.

Dimuthu Kumarasinghe Pirates Fantasy Cake – $35 million  The third priciest cake in the world is worth a whopping $35 million. In 2012, this cake broke the record for the most expensive cakes and holds a place in this list even today. Made by Chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, this cake resembles a pirate’s ship that has a “booty”, which is adorned with sparkling and rarest of stones. The cake also has been draped with beautiful jewelry, including brooches, rings, and necklaces. The edible part of the cake has 10 layers and each has different flavors like pumpkin, zucchini, and coconut meringue.

Devorah Rose Diamond Gala Cake – $30 million  Devorah Rose, the Social Life Magazine’s editor-in-chief had this cake made for one of her many expensive parties for 30 million dollars. The Diamond Gala cake was made by the creator of Cake Boss (a reality show). Devorah Rose reached out to the creator of the show and requested them to design a cake that cost her $30 million.

Nahid Parsa’s Luxury Bridal Show Cake – $20 million  Most of you must be knowing that the Beverly Hills’ Luxury Bridal Show gets better and more extravagant each year. However, 2006 was different, and the best year for them. They decided to have a wedding cake to match their wedding-themed event. The cake, baked by Nahid Parsa, includes gold flakes and many diamonds throughout the stunning piece. Whether it was sold or no is not clearly known but it was gorgeous nonetheless.

Africa Cake – $5 million  The next in the list of the most expensive cakes is the Africa Cake. One of Tokyo’s jewelry store designer designed this cake which resembles the shape of Africa. Further, to make it more interesting he embedded it with 2000 diamonds. The diamonds have been strategically placed around the perimeter of the cake and the southern tip as these were Africa’s hotspots of diamond mines.

Luster Dust Cake – $1.3 million  Though unlike the other cakes that find a place in this list, this one is not edible, still is a cake. The Luster Dust Cake was created in 2010 for the Dallas Bride Fair. It was a joint effort of Dallas’ Delicious Cakes and Dallas Gold and Silver exchange. The exterior part of the cake is made using luster dust frosting and is decorated with worth more than one million dollars of jewels. If this cake was a real one it would have weighed about 200 pounds.

Masami Miyamoto’s Diamond Chocolate Cake – $850,000  Pastry chef Masami Miyamoto created the eighth most expensive cake, worth $850,000. Jeweler Sa- Birth decorated this cake with diamonds that went perfectly well with the chocolate. This cake was made during the holiday season and kept in a store window to try and attract more customers. The chocolate cake, which has diamonds worth a total of 50 carats, was displayed in the western city of Osaka, in the Takashimaya department store. Though the cake is up for sale no one has bought it yet.

Platinum Cake by Nobue Ikara – $130,000  In 2007, Nobue Ikara, a Japanese pastry chef created this gorgeous platinum cake. It was showcased by the Platinum Guild International, a brand that was trying to encourage people to buy platinum jewelry. The cake is decorated using beautiful platinum pendants, necklaces, and pins and is worth over $130,000.

Fiona Cairns Royal Cake for Princess Kate – $78,000  Though you may find it weird that the royal cake holds the 10th position in this list, yet it has been an inspiration for many weddings to follow. The cake made for the wedding ceremony of Kate Middleton and Prince William in 2011 indeed looked royal. It took Fiona Cairns and her team of 50 designers and bakers a full five weeks to work on this beautiful piece. Kate Middleton herself had given 17 lace and flowers from her wedding dress and each of them was beautifully included in the cake.
