["","","","Artistic Languages To learn a language is to have one more window to look at the world. Learning the alphabet is an essential part of early learning about literacy. Distinguishing between letters and learning their names is not all. There is a need to 'learn the alphabet\u2019. Knowing how the alphabet functions in writing and knowing specific letter-sound associations is crucial. Kindergartners learned the alphabet through various art activities and flashcards. A befitting tribute was paid to the labour class by the students of Grade VI Wordsworth, on the occasion of International Labour Day. They saluted the dedicated souls with their presentations exploring the origin of the celebration, followed by a poem, a storytelling highlighting the dignity of labour and a song describing the dawn in the life of a hard-working person. The students also presented hand-made cards to the support staff of the school as a token of their deep appreciation for their dedicated service. Principal, Mr. Saji Jacob reminded the students that it\u2019s the support staff who report to school so early and who make the school function smoothly. He encouraged the students to respect all professions as all nations are built through painful efforts and the resolute courage of the labour class. Students of different grades learned the value of gratitude by involving themselves in making Thank you cards and posters to acknowledge the sincere work of the support staff of the school. The students showcased their skills in various categories including solo singing with vocal and instrumental music, dance, art, mono-acting in English and Hindi, stand-up comedy etc. All the participants put the spectators under their spell through their truly creative and enchanting acts. She was awarded the trophy by Smt. Veena George, Honorable Health Minister of Kerala Government at the grand finale organised on 1st May 2023. The dazzling and vibrant performer won many prizes such as- Mono-acting \u2013 1st position, Folk Song \u2013 1st position, Hindi Film song \u2013 2nd position, Poem Recitation in English and Malayalam- 2nd position, Poem Recitation in Hindi \u2013 3rd position, Western dance \u2013 3rd position, Karaoke song \u2013 A Grade, Cinematic Dance \u2013 A Grade, Group Song \u2013 1st position and Oppana \u2013 3rd position. The School Management conveyed their heartiest congratulations to the child prodigy.","Youth Leadership \u201cThe youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.\u201d - Nelson Mandela BIS, in collaboration with ICAB Toastmasters Club began with the first session of The Youth Leadership Program, a workshop consisting of eight weeks session which will enable young pupils under the age of 18 to develop their communication and leadership skills through practical experience. After the welcome, DTM Sanjay Gupta narrated a motivational story and briefed students about the importance of YLP. Principal Mr. Saji Jacob gave a warm welcome to the dignitaries and extended his gratitude. He further - encouraged the students to make use of this golden opportunity to improve their communication and leadership skills. Further the sessions were taken over by TM Karthik , TM Nishith and TM Sharil Dimri wherein important aspects, roles and responsibilities of Chairmanship were explained in detail. The ice breaker activity and further speech on the new associations which students made; enabled students to speak publicly. Shubh Dimri and Utkarsh Karthik; our former Youth Leaders helped students in understanding how to give a demo speech and how to perform the role of the timer. The new executive committee was formed through voting and roles were explained to them for the next meeting. It was a knowledgeable and enriching session. Our innovative Grade IX Pacific students held the audience in awe as they took them to a lively tour through eight important UNESCO-selected heritage sites of India explaining the social and cultural life of each site and by offering time-tested solutions for conflict prevention and reconciliation. A fusion dance depicting the folk dances of different states of India added to the charm of the assembly. Principal,Mr. Saji Jacob appreciated the students on their endeavor and motivated them to be proud of our rich heritage and values.","School Picnic - Paradise Lost Our BIS Students from Grades V to XII enjoyed a mesmerizing and fun filled picnic in all the exciting rides at the Dilmun era-based water theme park. As the name suggests our kids were lost in paradise once they entered The Lost Paradise -Water Theme Park. Students splashed about in the oasis pool excitedly under the supervision of the teachers and moved around the lazy river meandering around fountains, waterfalls, tunnels, and gardens with the aid of floats. The more adventurous ones tried the rocket slide, Boomerango pendulum ride, Water Temple, Super Bowl rides etc. The winding, slippery rides kept the adrenalin rush at its peak. Screaming with joy, students went up and down, fast and slow enjoying every moment of their wondrous trip. All attractions at LPOD were blended perfectly to create a desert oasis and they evoke the rich historical nostalgia of the Dilmun times. It was a great time of relaxation for the students and the staff.","","","","The Magic of Educational Tour All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We at BIS believe in giving equal importance to educational tour. A field trip was organised for the students of Grades I and II to Magic Island, Seef Mall and for Grade III and IV to Magic Planet, City Centre. It was fun for them to go in the buses together, share time with their friends and teachers, and play the games too! Upon reaching the destination, these tiny tots were all overwhelmed. They enjoyed different rides and games and during their meal time, they took pleasure in relishing a wide buffet of food. No doubt, the students had an incredible time filled with fun and joy.","","","","","","Results 2022-2023 \u2013 AISSE &AISSCE \u201cThe Pinnacle Performers of Yester Year\u201d The young talented powerhouse and pride of our Bahrain Indian School made their school and their parents proud by winning accolades at the Board Exams of Grade X and XII in the batches 2022-23 and 2021-22 were duly honoured at an award function held in the school auditorium on 25th May, 2023. Mahima Susan Thomas (96.2%) was honoured with the school topper award in Grade XII. Ritisha Bisht (94.8%), Akshaibala Sreeni Anbarasan , Shristi Choudhary and Prasannakumar Pandurangan were the toppers in the science stream. Adesh Deepthi Shaiju (97%) , Evan Binson John (95.6%) Nivedya Babu (94.6%) were recognized for their performance in the Grade 10 Exam. Shreya Kulkarni and Aryan Mishra also won awards for being toppers in Hindi. Manoj Subramanian Sathyanarayan ((98.9%) , Priyasruthi Srinivasan (96.8%) , Indraneil R Thekkepat, Ridha Shefi, Arnab Sengupta and Chaithyyak Manjayil Praveenkumar were awarded for being the school toppers and subject toppers of 2021-22 batch. The first batch of Grade XII was overwhelmed and of their victorious glory. The school directors, Mr.Himanshu Verma, Mrs.Ritu Verma along with Principal Mr.Saji Jacob and Coordinator Dr.Preet Kamal, distributed the awards to the brilliant winners. The Management, Staff, and students of Bahrain Indian School are on cloud nine with the announcement of the CBSE Board Exam results of Class XII. All our students came off with flying colours. Mahima Susan Thomas with an impressive 96.2% is the top scorer in the humanities stream. She has also scored to her credit a centrum in Psychology paper. Ritisha Bisht with 94.8% has come first in the science stream. Akshaibala Sreeni Anbarasan is in the second position and Shrishti Choudhry is in the third position in the Science stream. The first batch of our all-rounders has made the school proud by all of them winning above the proficiency level and three of them scoring above 90 in all the subjects. The laudable result showcases the collective hard work, of the students and teachers with the support of the Management who stood by them at every step, and the support of the parents. It was a moment of pride and elation. On 14th May 2023, for Mother\u2019s Day, students of Grades I and II passionately got involved in writing expressive letters which conveyed their affection towards their mother. It was a pleasure watching Grades III to V students preparing unique posters on \u2018Mother\u2019s Love\u2019. Each poster conveyed exuberance of gratitude and love. A special assembly was conducted by Grade V Taurus where they shared the emotion of Motherhood. They presented a dance drama on unconditional love that a Mother showers on her children during the different stages of a child. The outcome of their efforts was marvelous, and taught all of us the emotion of Motherhood. Principal Mr. Saji Jacob praised the students for their grand performance.","","","The Spell of Spelling \u201cTo learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.\u201d \u2013 Victor Hugo Spelling is important because it supports reading. 'Spell Bee' activity for Grades I and II was conducted on 14th May, 2023. This activity helped kids improve their spellings, vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop the usage in written expression. This activity consisted of two oral rounds and two written rounds. These rounds were based on spelling words in different ways. For example, shadow pictures were shown to identify the correct spelling of the word and a group of letters was given to form as many words as they could. Students enjoyed these kinds of challenging questions and played enthusiastically and also realized the importance of reading.","","","","To Enter a World of Words \u201cIt\u2019s not magic that takes us to another world. It\u2019s storytelling.\u201d \u2013 Val McDermid Story Telling Competition, the event of creativity, showcasing the power of narration was conducted on the 14th and 15th May, 2023 for Grades III and IV. From enchanting fantasies to gripping mysteries, the words transported the audience to distant worlds of words. These storytellers, armed with their props and their armory of words, came forth with wonderful tales. Their stories were based on genres like fairy tales, fables and fantasy.","","The Sparkle of their Smiles A sparkling smile depicts a healthy heart. Expert guidance can help children understand how to maintain better oral hygiene. During the week of 16th to 18th May 2023, Ms. Fatema Zaid, the school counselor, conducted an interactive workshop on 'Health and Hygiene' for Grades I to VI. The students at BIS learned about the importance of brushing their teeth. We believe that good oral health practices should be taught from a young age. Our little ones were embracing these valuable lessons through a series of activities such as songs, a video on the techniques of brushing and a mime. These young ones were well equipped with knowledge to maintain their oral well-being. Principal, Mr. Saji Jacob appreciated the guidance and counseling department for this wonderful initiatives and motivated the students to develop and maintain good oral hygiene practices.",""]
