My Trip to Europe I visited two European countries with my parents in 2019. We went to France and Switzerland. The capital of France is Paris and the capital of Switzerland is Bern. I stayed in France for 5 days. In France, people speak French and everyone greets each other saying ‘Bonjour’. I stayed in the Disney hotel which is very close to Disneyland, Paris. First I saw the Eiffel tower. It was a very beautiful, tall structure. I went to the top of the Eiffel tower. I was a little scared when I looked down, but it was very beautiful, I could see the whole city. Next two days we went to Disneyland and met all the characters (Mickey mouse, Mini mouse &Marvel characters) We also enjoyed rides, parades, and fireworks which happened at the time of closing. We used metro rail and bus tours to see the city, museums and famous places. We took a train to Switzerland. We stayed in an apartment in Luzern for eight days. Switzerland is very beautiful and has a very good transport system (bus, train, tram, cable car &boat) On the snow mountains, we made a snowman, played many snow games (slide, snowball, tube ride). We also went to the transport museum and one special museum of Albert Einstein. I celebrated my 6th birthday on the glacier express train and received a soft toy as a gift from the train in charge. That was my most favourite holiday. Yonit (Grade-II Thames) My Trip to Dubai I have already started missing Dubai. My last trip on holiday was a lot of fun for me. I experienced some best highlights of the city, including deserts, safaris, hotels, Dubai theme parks, resorts, malls, flower valley, and above all Burj Khalifa. Dubai theme parks and resorts were my favourite place to go as I have visited three different parks, Motion gate, Bollywood Park, and Lego land. In motion Gate Park we saw a lot of attractions like Smurfs village, Madagascar mad pursuit, Dragon gliders, Shrek’s fairy tale journey, Hotel Transylvania journey, and a lot more. In Bollywood Park, we experienced India’s best attractions like Bollywood stage dance, Krrish hero fight journey, Sholay the hunt of Gabbar Singh play, Don the chase play, Indian theme stores, Indian food, and many more. Last but not least we went to Lego Land Park where we went on adventurous rides and rollercoasters and interactive play across different lands. There was also plenty of fun and learning at Lego City, like becoming a fireman, getting a kid’s driver’s license, and seeing how Lego is made in the factory. We stayed in Dubai parks and resorts for three days. I had a lot of fun and I wish to go back once again with my parents. Malaak Ahmed Ayyad (Grade- II Cauvery) Trip to Salalah, Oman This travelogue is of 2018…… During Eid holidays of 2018, my family decided that for two days we would go to Salalah. On 15th June 2018, we left for the Bahrain Airport. We boarded airline Oman Air. We took a flight to Muscat (capital of Oman) and another flight to Salalah. We came to our hotel and we got a guide for those two days in Salalah. At first, we visited many mountains and after that, we visited the Sinkhole of Salalah and the highest point in that place. We could see many clouds over Salalah. On our last day, we saw a tourist attraction and we went for the last time to a restaurant. Finally we went to the airport from Salalah to Muscat to Bahrain. IT WAS THE BEST TRIP I HAVE EVER BEEN ON…… Govind (Grade- V) 99

My Trip to Singapore In 2018, I visited Singapore with my family. It is a beautiful place. First, we went on a cruise where we celebrated my mom’s birthday. I enjoyed the water slides and live concert. Then we went to Wings of Time and Garden of the Bay, where I saw the largest glass flower dome. It was mesmerizing to watch the lovely flowers and a wonderful light show. There was also a little India where we had some delicious Indian food. There was also a giant wheel where we could see the whole country. I also visited an aquarium where there was a statue of the Titanic and there also was a separate glass where we saw several types of sharks. It was a fascinating experience to watch starfishes and touch them. Next, we went to universal studios and it was a great experience and I enjoyed it so much. There I saw dinosaurs and we were shocked to see how beautiful they were. Next, we went on some rides and we were tired by the end of the day. I am glad we went to Singapore because I really enjoyed it a lot. I will visit it again. Adhya Sharma (Grade- II Thames) A Piece Of Memory I went to my hometown Kozhikode (Kerala, India), I had a pleasant and memorable experience of a rainy day. I always wanted to play outside when it is raining. A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long without any break. It causes chilling weather with showers and a cool breeze. Everything looks new and fresh during the rainy day. One day my uncle allowed us to play in the rain. My cousins, Rabeeh, Risvi, and I were ready to play and we were excited to get wet. We made paper boats and placed them in the stream and we ran along with them. We played a lot and splashed water on each other. The dark clouds showered water drops on our faces; it was a wonderful experience for us. We rode our bicycles in the water. We had too much fun. I enjoyed it as I had never before. It filled me with abundant happiness and pleasure. It was the most exciting day in my life. I always thank my uncle for giving me such a memorable day in my life. Ehan Abdulla (Grade- II Thames) My Lockdown Vacation My mother had planned a short vacation to India. My parents and I started our journey to India on 12-Mar- 2020. Unfortunately, we were stuck-up for 7 months in India, due to the COVID-19 lockdown. However, luckily I got a chance to stay long in my grandparents' home with my mom and brother. My grandparents' house is a farmhouse surrounded by a lotus pond on one side and the remaining three sides with paddy fields. Our grandparent's family is a big joint family that includes five uncles and aunts, 14cousin brothers, and sisters. My uncle has big paddy fields, so my brother and I had a chance to watch how they ploughed and planted paddy plants. I also planted paddy and played in muddy puddles. They also have a herd of cattle (goats, cows) and a flock of hens. We have got two puppies and two goat kids as our pets and I love to play with them. The puppies follow me wherever I go. My grandmother gives me herbal health drink every day in the morning to stay away from the coronavirus. Everyday my aunts cooks my favourite dishes. My uncle gives us rides in tractor, bike, and truck. My cousins love me, care for me and play all types of games with me like hide & seek, cricket, carom, chess, and ludo, etc. Among these, my favourite game is hide and seek which gives me so much fun and happiness. Most of the evening time, I love cycling on the road which covers paddy fields on both sides. I like to watch the evening sky during a very lovely sunset. I enjoyed that vacation very much and miss my lovely family. I am eagerly waiting for my next vacation to meet all my relatives and my pets. Priyanka Gopi (Grade- 1Indigo) 100

A Day at the National Park in Bahrain I was having a long vacation and getting bored. So, I asked my parents to take me for a long ride. One sunny day, my dad took my mom and me to Bahrain National Park. It was a long ride and took us around 45 minutes to reach the place! At the entrance, we bought the tickets to enter the national park. As soon as we entered the zoo, we saw a colourful parrot. We went near the same and the trainer made the parrot sit on my hand. I was initially scared but later realized that it was such a nice bird and it didn't hurt me. My dad took my hand and made me touch the body of the bird which was so soft. We moved further and could see a small pond with a lot of ducks, swan, and flamingos playing and making noises. Later I was made to ride on a small pony. The trainer was holding the reins and made the pony make a round trip. The pony was white and was very cute. It was a pleasant ride for me. I took a selfie with my mom near a garden full of beautiful flowers! We also entered the bird's walk-through aviary, wherein different categories of birds were living and making chirpy pleasant noises. There was a gigantic Ostrich roaming nearby. It was so tall and had a long neck and legs. It noticed us and came near to me. I was really scared and moved away!We saw camels eating food. The camel was so tall and it sneezed on some of the visitors which was very humorous. We also saw monkeys, tigers, lion & snakes during the tour inside the Zoo. By that time, I was totally tired and was feeling hungry. My mom gave me some snacks which were very tasty & we enjoyed eating at noon. Finally, I played with my mom and dad in the kids playing area and had fun.By end of the day, we returned home. Overall the trip was so interesting, informative, and thrilling. Deekshith. S (Grade- I Silver) Borjomi Mineral Water Park It was my dream to visit Georgia in winters to witness the beauty of snowfall. Finally, last December we visited Georgia. I was very excited as I had never seen a snowfall. It was a trip of 10 days. We visited many historic places, but the most exciting thing was yet to come and that was witnessing the snowfall. One beautiful morning I got up seeing beautiful and heavy clouds. We decided to visit “Borjomi Mineral Park” where snowfall was happening. I got up quickly, dressed up, and took my warm beautiful coat along with me. It was 3 hours journey from the hotel to the park. Finally, we reached the place and it was snowing there which reminded me of a rhyme I had learned in my Kindergarten Snow is falling; Snow is falling. Falling here, falling there, Snow is falling. Shhhhh!. I jumped out of the car and started playing with the snow. I created an awesome snowman. There I played with my family and together we had a lot of fun. I am thankful to my parents for taking me to Georgia and it was like a dream come true, as I stay in a place where I can never witness the snow in my entire life. Syed Yousuf (Grade- II Cauvery) 101

Editorial Board It was just amazing to hear that I had just become the new Chief Editor of The Editorial Board. That was a moment I will never forget. That was almost a year ago. Since then, I worked with the other editorial members and edited various types of writing ranging from short stories to newsletters. Being a Chief Editor, people think it is too difficult, but the truth is I enjoyed it a lot. I always found the Editorial Board to be an amusing group of members who are keen on editing. Editorial Board is all about enjoyment through the method of communication and editing. It is not just students at the Editorial Board, we had amazing teachers who boosted Adesh.D.Shaiju [VIII] our knowledge and linguistic abilities. At the Editorial Board, we dive deeper into the (Chief Editor of the secrets of the English language along with our teachers and we enjoyed it! Editorial Board 2020-21) This journey in the Editorial Board is similar to that of a roller coaster, they were many surprises. Yes, there were a few ups and downs like a roller coaster, however it is teamwork which made us enjoy the ride. These memories are great! But it is time for a new Editorial Board to assemble. I wish them good luck and a “Happy Journey” ahead. But that doesn’t mean it is the end of our journey, maybe the editing career is over but the friendship and teamwork which grew still has to grow more. “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – these are the famous words quoted by American author Dr. Seuss. This quotes best describes the Editorial Board. If you ever wanted to try for the Editorial Board, go for it! It is a journey which will linger in your mind forever.
