Coast 2 Coast leveraged laser scanning technologies to capture both the existing conditions and the complex architecture of the 715 room hotel. COAST 2 COAST | Capabilities Overview PROJECT OVERVIEW NAME: Omin Homestead Resort LOCATION: Hot Springs VA TYPE: Hospitality SERVICES: As-built Survey, Laser Scanning, 3D Modeling DELIVERABLES: Revit Model, Point Cloud, Photographic Documentation Project Details In 2016, The Omni Homestead Resort celebrated 250 years as America’s first resort. Initially built in 1766, the resort has seen many changes – it was rebuilt after a fire in 1901, a significant expansion took place in the 1920s, and remodeling completed in 2001. In 2019, Coast 2 Coast partnered with the design team to help as plans began for a restoration of the resort. Laser scanning of the interior and exterior of both the main resort and the interior was used to capture 700,000 square feet included in the main building, the casino and the 483 gues- trooms. Based on the scan data, Coast 2 Coast captured the existing conditions of the property in a 3D Revit Model. The team was also provided with visualization tools that included an online view of the point cloud and photographic documentation. COAST 2 COAST | Capabilities Overview PROJECT OVERVIEW NAME: Clark’s Landing Historic Colgate Factory LOCATION: Clarksville, IN TYPE: Adaptive Re-Use, Historic Preservation SERVICES: As-built Survey, Reality Capture, Aerial Survey DELIVERABLES: 3D Model, Digital Twin Project Details One of the many professional services pertaining to real property that Coast 2 Coast performs is existing condition documentation for conservation and conversion projects. As with many historic preservation projects, design studies and analysis is critical to preparing a project scope. First laser scanners were used to collect data of the entire space. Next laser meters and total stations were used to document control points for registration. Finally, a drone survey was completed to capture roof data and document a historic clock on top of the main building. From this data, a 3D model of the building and floorplans were created to facilitate design anal- ysis and feasibility. A working prototype, as well as 3D architectural models and CAD drawings (floorplans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, etc.), were integrated to produce a working model used for design review. Coast 2 Coast leveraged our Indoor Mapping platform to provide a dig- ital record of the building. This platform integrates point cloud data and 360 photography into a single online platform where stakeholders can examine a digital twin of the space from any internet-connected device. Coast 2 Coast completed the fieldwork in 12 days surveying more than 665,000 squre feet and the Revit Model, AutoCAD Drawings and Online Viewer were available in 90 days. As a leader in the automotive industry as well as manufacturing innovation, Volkswagen selected Coast 2 Coast as their partner for laser scanning and mapping of the 1,900,000 square feet facility. The project included identifying survey control points, laser scanning key areas of the plant’s structure and creating a digital twin of the facility. The added value of online collaboration, virtualized wayfinding, and construction oversight means that facility managers and master planners are able to add value to every project and in their everyday operations. Speed-to-market means is of course, directly related to returns on the investment. Having a view of the facility as it currently exists enables engineers to increase project visibility and improve simulations by quickly identify process deficiencies. COAST 2 COAST | Capabilities Overview PROJECT OVERVIEW NAME: VA-VISN 17 As-built Survey Program LOCATION: Heart of Texas Region TYPE: Healthcare SERVICES: As-built Survey, Laser Scanning, 3D Modeling DELIVERABLES: 3D Model, AutoCAD Project Details In partnership with the prime contractor, Coast 2 Coast provided laser scanning services and 2D AutoCAD verification of as-built drawings. The as-built survey encompassed 10 Veterans Administration buildings, totaling over 3 Million sq ft. Interior elements that were documented include walls, doors, windows, columns, stairs, elevators, millwork/counters, plumbing fixtures and cubicle layouts. Coast 2 Coast established the proper orientation for the campus site plan using Total Station data. Custom AutoCAD blocks were also developed for automated conver- sion of 2D drawing elements into 3D Revit models, to minimize cost and time required to create final Revit deliverables. COAST 2 COAST | Capabilities Overview BUICK GMC DEALERSHIP CONVERSION LOCATION: Nationwide TYPE: Retail, Multi-site SIZE: 933 Locations, 75 Days SERVICES: As-built Survey, Laser Scanning, Drafting Services DELIVERABLES: AutoCAD, Photographic Documentation To meet the corporate brand compliance deadline for the installation of new GMC dealership signage, the contracted sign company needed to manufacture both the new signs and the building cladding in their facility. Coast 2 Coast team was an ideal partner for gathering precise measurements and an accurate inventory for each site. The communication and collaboration of Coast 2 Coast Account Executives helped the project team define the scope and the best approach while our logistics and project management teams orchestrated the field team exe- cution. Laser scanning was the tool of choice in this case because it offered ¼ accuracy, re- gardless of height or obstructions on site. The exterior elevation data allowed the manufacturer to produce the appropriate signs and cut the Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) used for cladding to exact size from the safety of their shop.
