Lycopene, which is abundantly found in tomatoes, is not only is a pre-emptive role for the prostate, but has also been proven to be beneficial in patients with prostate cancer. One study found cancer patients who consumed 30 mg of Lycopene supplements daily experienced smaller tumors, had less surgery and also had less cancerous tissue. Another study revealed that those taking 15 mg twice per day had less aggressive cancer cells growth than people who did not take the nutrients.
