At the age of 19 years, I had to take my first emotional and physical risk. When I was 15, I suffered a serious left knee injury leaving me unable to walk. At 19, surgery to help me caused paralysis in my lower leg. Doctors told me I would never walk again. I created my own exercise program and taught myself to walk in one year.
