Greater Naples Fire Foundation 62 Greater Naples Fire Foundation The Greater Naples Fire Foundation again in 2019 partnered with many from the community to raise funds for charitable causes. Programs supported by the Foundation included the Collier-Lee Honor Flight, Bosom Buddies Cancer Support, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation supporting families affected by the 9-11 tragedy. In addition, the Foundation sponsored several programs directly supporting the children of the community. The annual Toy Drive Command served 636 families, providing holiday gifts to 1,212 children in need. Pet oxygen masks were purchased for fire apparatus, the Back to School Sneaker Drive provided new sneakers for children attending Manatee and Golden Gate Elementary schools, and the on-going car seat program served families throughout the year in order to make sure our most precious cargo arrives safely. For the second year the Foundation, in cooperation with the Greater Naples Chamber, partnered to sponsor a student intern program, providing the opportunity to learn about local government operations in a work-like capacity while still in high school. As part of the District’s fifth anniversary, the Foundation purchased commemorative challenge coins for the membership. Coins were also made available to the general public with all proceeds going to the Foundation for future programs. Because of the kindness and generosity of the community, the Greater Naples Fire Foundation raised $38,358 and contributed $13,466 to charitable causes. 5th Anniversary challenge coins
