TheLewis Roca Rothgerber ChristieDifference Qualities That Set Us Apart Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie recognizes that the decision to join a new law firm is momentous. While the firm’s financial performance and your compensation are important, we believe there are other factors to be considered -- outside of the typical rhetoric espoused by most large firms. We have summarized a few of the unique factors that differentiate Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie from other firms you might consider. lrrc.com

Collaborative Culture Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie prides itself on having a friendly, open-door, collaborative culture. Mutual respect is demanded of attorneys and non-attorney professionals alike. Our partners are expected to delegate work to others, to collaborate on business development efforts and to leverage their client relationships to other practices and attorneys. While we have many small, unique practices; they are not silos. Each practice is part of one of five formal practice groups, which facilitates inclusiveness, interaction and communication. Strong Firm and Practice Leadership It is our mission to minimize bureaucracy so that our lawyers can practice law and not be over-burdened with administrative tasks. As such, our partners select strong leaders to manage the firm and its practices. Other than certain key strategic decisions that require the vote of the partnership, the firm’s Executive Committee sets policy and makes most strategic decisions. The Managing Partner, supported by a C-Level team of management professionals, manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and leads the firm and its attorneys. The firm’s practice group leaders manage client intake, pricing, staffing, professional development and hiring within their respective groups. These leaders are not merely appointed because they have successful practices themselves, but for their proven business acumen and leadership skills. Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie has a limited number of standing committees that set the strategy for hiring, professional development, diversity and inclusiveness, pro bono and other key areas within the firm. Ad hoc committees are sometimes created to tackle issues-based efforts. Two Tiered Partnership We recognize that many of our best lawyers initially do not possess all the skills required for ownership. As such, Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie has a two tiered partnership structure— Income Partners and Equity Partners—to meet the unique needs of our experienced attorneys and the firm. Income Partners receive fixed compensation throughout the year. The firm has a professional development program and structure designed to help each Income Partner develop their ownership and leadership qualities, and expand their practices in order to facilitate their progression to equity status.Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP

Loss PreventionLewis Roca Rothgerber Christie takes malpractice prevention seriously and, as such, has rigorous lossprevention policies and practices with which all attorneys must comply. The firm is a member of the AttorneyLiability Assurance Society (“ALAS”), a mutual insurance company that provides professional liability insurancefor invited firms having best practices in loss prevention. Our full-time General Counsel and conflicts attorneyare dedicated to resolving issues in a timely fashion and managing claims, should they occur, for the bestpossible outcomes. One Partner One VoteMost matters requiring approval of the partnership are subject to vote by both Equity and Income Partners. Allpartners are granted one vote regardless of their status, tenure or equity percentage. This strategic approachhelps to ensure that all partners have an equal say in the long term strategic growth and direction of the firm.We also believe that this cultivates and retains the next generation of firm leaders. Meetings of the partnershipoccur bi-monthly and include all Equity, Income and Senior Partners. An annual retreat is hosted for partnersin the fall.Fiscal ConservatismLewis Roca Rothgerber Christie takes a conservative approach to its financial operations. Other than borrowingfor short-lived physical assets in order to fairly amortize such partner investments and benefit from depreciationdeductions, the firm has a “no debt” policy. We never borrow to fund Equity Partner distributions to hire talent. This results in a culture of all partners taking personal accountability and responsibility for timely billing andcollections, and profitable matter management. Our Finance Committee members and collections team supportthe billing attorneys in these efforts.Rate StructurePartners are encouraged to structure fee arrangements based on the nature and requirements of each clientand matter. While the firm has standard billing rates and expectations for profitable matter management, our partners work with our finance team and practice group leaders to price engagements in a way thatdemonstrates value to the client. We have flexibility in pricing because Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie hasone of the lowest expense overhead rates per lawyer of large firms in the Southwest and Mountain Region. This is partly due to our geographic footprint and solid expense management policies that enable us to provideservices to regional, national and international clients from comparatively low cost locations.Transparent Partner Compensation and Financial SystemThe Executive Committee, with the input from Practice Group Leaders, sets partner compensation annually.Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie also has a partner bonus program to reward outstanding partner contributionsand financial performance. The financial performance data of each partner—as well as their compensation—isavailable for review by any partner. Financial statements, key performance data and minutes of the ExecutiveCommittee meetings are distributed to all partners on a monthly basis. In addition, financial dashboardsprovide real-time access to client and matter data. While billable hours are important, they are not necessarilyprofitable. Our sophisticated financial tools help attorneys understand client and matter profitability, not justfees. lrrc.com
