A Champion Squash Program GCC boasts one of the world’s top squash programs. Led by a formerWorld Doubles and National Singles champion, our certified Squash Professionals run programs year-round for players at all levels, from children to adult beginners to nationally ranked juniors and adults. Over the past decade, GCC has produced over 20 national squash champions, and sent dozens of juniors to join the squash programs of such elite universities asYale, Princeton, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, and many others. Our air-conditioned facilities include: • Glass wall exhibition court • 4 international softball courts • 2 doubles courts Squash pro shop Squash for Adults GCC offers many ways for adults to get involved with the game of squash. We run adult clinics, in-house leagues, doubles clinics, tournaments, social events, ladies clinics, and inter-club teams. In-house leagues: Our box leagues give players an opportunity to meet and compete with players on their skill level. Players arrange match times themselves, to accommodate work and family schedules. Ladies clinics:We run hour-long ladies' clinics throughout the week, in both morning and evening time slots to accommodate working schedules. Calcuttas: Adult tournaments and calcuttas, run throughout the year, are a great and popular way for players at all levels to compete and have a great time! Squash for Juniors Junior clinics: Our junior clinics (Squash forTots, Beginners, Intermediate, Elites) cover the full range of squash skills. Early levels work on such fundamentals as grip, contact, and swing. Advanced levels graduate to rallying and drills, up through advanced strategy for serious tournament players. Summer camps: First-class squash mentoring is mixed in with fun and games to create an infectious atmosphere where junior players want to stay for more than just one week. Grand Prix:This is one of our most popular in-house junior events! We play round robin matches using Ameri- can scoring to give every junior maximum match play. Players accumulate points, with prizes going to the top six finishers at the end of the season.

Junior Program All junior players are welcome to participate! See below for our current clinic offerings: Saturday Junior Clinics: We offer clinics to all juniors under the age of 18. Ages and ability will dictate which clinic time you will be placed in.These run weekly from Sept 14th to the end of April, cancelled depending on weather and/or holi- days and run for 1 - 1.5hr depending on the group time. A weekly email is sent to the clinic groups asking for a response to attending. A general concept of the clinics is to be a progressive feeder system for other pro- grams: Junior Grand Prix, Junior Interclub and eventually tournaments. The pro staff makes every attempt to keep the player/professional ratio to a maximum of 6:1. Week-Day Junior Clinics: These typically run in seasonal packages (6-8 week time blocks). Fall is considered the preschool season,Win- ter Session 1 is from roughlyThanksgiving to before the NewYear,Winter session 2 - after January 1, (winter blocks work around the school squash season which typically runs from mid-November to start of February). A Spring session is from mid-February to the end of March. If there is demand a second spring session is offered, which runs until the middle of May.This year we plan to offer the clinic and potentially a fitness session with a trainer to the groups each week. Clinics cost: $40 - 1.5hrs $27 - 1hr $20 - 45 minutes Non-Member Fee - add $15 to clinic rate (there is a 24hr cancellation fee policy in effect, players will be charged if they cancel last minute or no show) Clinic Cancellation Policy: A clinic requires a minimum of 3 people to be run for the full time. If there are less than the required number of players a clinic may be cancelled. The option of a shorter clinic time, a semi- private lesson or individual lesson can be offered, based on a coaches availability. If the clinic is changed to a les- son, the regular pro lesson rates apply depending on the instructor. Ladder Players are listed in order of ability, this list helps players know where they are competitively against other play- ers in the club. Pro staff can reference the ladder to from clinics, box leagues and set-up matches. There is no cost to participate. The junior ladder is a ranking system that we have for all the junior members at the club. Players are placed on this ladder at the beginning of the season and can challenge other players ahead of them to improve their status. They may also have lower players challenge them. This is a way we create competitive match play for the juniors and allows us to have an updated ranking. There is no cost to join the ladder.

Leagues Junior In-House League Junior players are put into round robin boxes of 4-6 players. They are required to play best of 3 out of 5 matches against all the players in their assigned box.The goal is to win as many games as possible. At the end of the round, players will be moved up/or down to a higher/lower box. There is no cost to join the junior in-house league. Junior Grand Prix This is a popular in-house GCC junior event, the format is a round robin using one game matches, this way every junior will get maximum play. Numbers permitting, every junior should get at least six to eight games at each event. At the end of each event, points will be awarded to every player depending on their placing. We hope to run six similar events through the season (one each month) from October to March. Grand Prix is held one Sunday a month from 4:00-5:30pm. The best four scores for each junior will be added and the top six finishers will receive prizes at the end of the season at the last Grand Prix. Dates for the Grand Prix are coordinated with junior interclub and tournament dates to limit overlapping events. A $20 entry fee is applied to members accounts for those who participate. Junior Inter-Club This league is designed for juniors to play against other juniors from surrounding clubs. The league starts in October and runs until March, with matches usually scheduled once or twice a month. The number of participants and a challenge ladder decide the playing order on teams. Players from other parts of the junior program should participate in this league. There is no charge to participate in this league. Tournaments GCC runs a number of junior squash tournaments sanctioned by US Squash. This year we will be hosting a Junior Bronze (9/28 – 9/30) and a Junior Silver (March dateTBD) level tournaments. These tourna- ments are held over a full weekend. Play starts on Friday afternoon and usually continue until Sunday. Players wishing to participate or for more information, check the US SquashTournament page. Junior Tournament Coaching: The professional staff at GCC also coaches our junior players at local and national junior tournaments – providing there are enough players participating. GCC has a long history of elite junior players and coaching at these events helps to improve performance and placings in tournaments. For more infor- mation, please contact the squash office.
