Why is a professional portrait so important?

In a world now saturated with photography thanks to social media and the smart phone, you would think that the professional portrait ought to be on the decline. However, more so than ever people are visiting a professional photographer to make sure they have the best images that last beyond the moment. The role of the professional photographer is to bring energy, emotion and imagination to the portrait, and not just a record of the occasion. The shoot gives you and your family the perfect experience to remember the emotion and relationship you have between each other. Reaching for our photographic memories helps us to pass our stories onto others, and reminds us of the lives we are living. That's why I dedicate myself to creating images that smile across generations, helping to give you memories that are made to last a lifetime and beyond.

Let me introduce myself I would like to start by introducing myself, my name is Darren Bedding. I live with my family in Oxfordshire. I have been running my own photography business since 2011. I began by working from my own home, mainly photographing weddings. As my business grew, in 2014, I took the plunge and gave up my previous career as a Motor Vehicle Technician completely to focus full- time on my Photography business. Over the next few years I developed into a Newborn, Family, Dance and Dog Portrait Photographer. In early 2017, business was taking over my home and it felt time to move to a business premises. I moved to a beautiful village Cropredy, 10 minutes from home and more specifically Prescote Manor, where I turned the Potting Shed into a delightful studio. I soon learnt, I loved having my own studio premises and enjoyed welcoming my customers there. The surrounding grounds are not only perfect for outdoor photography, they really helped my creativity, being able to get out in the fresh air for a welcome break too. Towards the end of 2019, another unit became available which was much larger and I moved just around the corner in the manor estate. I now have a wonderful large studio and separate office and viewing area. I am married to my very supportive wife, Sarah, with two wonderful children, Ryan and Hannah, who still moan to this day if they have to be photographed. We have two family pets, a cat, Nala and a Cockapoo, Dexter, who loves being at the studio and the lovely walks nearby. Ilove providing memories and seeing the emotions, when my customers are presented with their artwork. Some of the memories I have provided have been of the most personal times in families' lives. I really look forward to my returning customers, who I capture their first memories, possibly an engagement or wedding, through to their family generations and those adorable family companions. I first fell in love with photography on my first visit to Australia in 2001, even though back then I had a cheap camera! We were doing a three day road trip, from Melbourne to Adalaide, along the Great Ocean Road. We stopped at a lovely cove and I photographed some images. We arrived at our friends house the next day and they had a brochure of the Great Ocean Road. The exact same spot and image, I had captured the day before, was in the brochure and that was the spark, little did I realise back then, that would bring to where I am today.

Dog 'Paw-Traits' I offer a wonderful fun filled photography experience capturing natural images of your four-legged friends. I provide both studio and outdoor based portraiture that will allow your dog to enjoy the natural environment or creative studio setups. As a dog owner myself, I know how important the many expressions of devotion are and how much joy our furry friends bring into our lives. It is always a privilege to capture these memories that you will cherish.

Family Portraits Possibly one of the most popular portraits to have taken. Celebrate your family by bringing all of the generations together at one time, for a timeless portrait session and capture memories to last a lifetime and beyond. I am able to create portraits with many different styles, colours and lighting techniques to suit your families personal likes and preferences. I will create a stunning set of images for you and your family to treasure forever.

The Joy of Dance Dance Photography is full of grace with their movement, expression and love of dance shining through. With the wonderful surroundings of my studio,I am able to do both indoor and outdoor dance photography. With a daughter myself who dances, I know how important it is to capture special memories that you can look back on. It is my passion to capture your dance portraits which you can treasure as I do myself.

Your Growing Family Maternity and Newborn When the time comes to grow your family and for the 'pitter-patter' sound of tiny feet, I love nothing more than capturing this most amazing journey in your life. I have maternity and newborn packages enabling you to treasure these 'once in a lifetime' precious memories.

Dressing for success We always like you to style for two or three types of shoot during your portrait session, e.g. light & bright, dark and moody, your hobby - let's get creative. Don't forget to do this for all of the family members!

Make your house a home After your portrait session, I will choose the best images before enhancing them to create your personal wall art. The viewing process is a wonderful experience by itself. The portraits are viewed 'larger than life' in the viewing studio with my unique cinematic show that will bring your portraits to life. During the viewing, I will help you make the right selection, as well as giving you some ideas on how the portraits can bring your home to life. I have a wonderful selection of various framing and modern wall art to choose from. You can rest assured they are all professionally printed and framed through my hand selected specialist partners. All offer a creative and inspirational design element with specialist finishes, making each portrait perfect for your home.
