FROM DENIAL TO EMPOWERMENT ALIGNING WITH MAINSTREAM ‘WORK FROM HOME’ OPERATIONS, USING ICT AND PEER DRIVEN PROCESSES FOUNDER’S MESSAGE: Dear Well-Wishers! Compliments of the Season and a very Happy, Productive and Successful New Year to all of us! May we get enlightened further in our journey forward with courage, integrity and appropriate strategy to develop a better Tomorrow! It was the overwhelming Corona Virus Pandemic that enabled AMBA to get truly integrated into society, working and flowing forward in parallel with the Mainstream World…working from Home! Because of this huge disrupt Team AMBA had to attempt working from Home using ICT and remote access software…we started with acute apprehension and within 45 days realized this was possible as all the ACC (AMBA Core Center) Peer Trainers responded to Home Based Training successfully! Team AMBA started very slow, initiating the process emphasizing on Visual Matching Non-Computer Data Entry monitored by ACC Mainstream staff using WhatsApp. Immediately after, ACC Peers along with their parents were invited to ACC, laptops were distributed for Home use and Families were trained to access and use remote software to take the training forward! We acknowledge with gratitude the support in FYs 2020-22 from our partners Embassy Group; MindTree LTI Foundation; Anga Karunya Kendra; M/s Frigerio Conserva Allana Private Limited; The Hans Foundation; SBI Foundation; Standard Chartered Global Business Services; ANZ Operations & Technology India Pvt. FROM DENIAL TO EMPOWERMENT ALIGNING WITH MAINSTREAM ‘WORK FROM HOME’ OPERATIONS, USING ICT AND PEER DRIVEN PROCESSES THE VULNERABLE COMMUNITY AMBA SERVES 1. Intellectual Disability limits understanding and reasoning capacity, with delayed developments that are diverse and hinder their ability to go through formal education at any level. Brain injury in many cases causes associated physical challenges, fits and seizures also. COGNITIVE DISABILITIES PERSISTANT HEALTH ISSUES ACUTE BEHAVIOUR CHALLENGES LACK OF SOCIAL SKILLS VULNERABLE TO PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABUSE THE SELECTION PROCESS: 2. We target Adults with moderate to severe intellectual disability with no capacity to go through formal education or work within mainstream environments.. 3. 80% of the beneficiaries we serve are from Rural India and the parents who now need to help their wards have never touched a computer. So, ACC and ACPCs have an additional responsibility to teach parents who have never touched the computer, the minimum requirements of using the computer functionally to assist their wards. 4. Age Criteria, we do not encourage child labor 5. IQ below 65 6. No learning background required. 7. We accept people with health issues and use our network of solutions to help them 8. We accept adults with puberty related behaviour challenges as our training in 99% of the beneficiaries brings about positive change 9. We encourage persons with Economic Challenges. AMBA has over the years brought the community they serve to manage Backend Services for Clients available within varied Genres of Mainstream Activities and Services 10. The degree of difficulty in enabling employment to this community is really high, but the change in behaviours, capability and sense of self is measured periodically. This reflects huge social change and impact! 6 AMBA, # 48, HIG, 1st Main, 4th Cross Rd, opp. Pebble Bay, 3rd Block, Amarjyothi Layout, Dollars Colony, R.M.V. 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560094 www.ambaforlife.org

FROM DENIAL TO EMPOWERMENT ALIGNING WITH MAINSTREAM ‘WORK FROM HOME’ OPERATIONS, USING ICT AND PEER DRIVEN PROCESSES BACKGROUND TO AMBA: An Ashoka Fellow driven Social Enterprise, our ecosystem of learning and earning is adaptive, visual and functional, appropriate to their acumen, making them contributors to family & Society. Their lack of social skills limits them from working in mainstream companies, so AMBA collaborates with Special Institutions pan India & helps them evolve into hubs for learning & earning, using their infrastructure, administration & trainers, keeping overheads to a minimum. We call them AMBA Certified Partner Centers (ACPCs). The process of research; understanding this community; managing stigma and denials; developing the curriculum (now copyrighted across India); testing out work within pilots; maximizing efficiency, achieving SLA driven processes, has been a long journey of understanding for AMBA. We have shared the AMBA concept at no cost with over 475 ACPCs to date who are in different stages of training and their efficiency is tracked by monitoring staff from AMBA Core Centre. We have enabled work to date to 2032 beneficiaries and impacted 8000 beneficiaries across 25 states in India. We target to reach 1500 ACPCs, ensuring 100% Live work to the ACPCs by 2030 The hub and spoke with a difference: The AMBA Core Center in Bangalore is the hub that enables the ACPCs with training and business. The spokes are the ACPCs pan India. An eco-system developed for them and by them. ß AMBA MILESTONES- FY 2020-22 DESPITE THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC • FY 2022- 23 Virtual Training and monitoring for newly revived ACPCs  FY 2022-23 - 756 operators from 63 ACPCs going into Live BSE backend work; remaining 504 beneficiaries and 600 new beneficiaries starting Virtual Revival Training…  FY 2022-23- Signing contract for BSE Phase 2  FY 2021-22 Signed and executed Phase 1 BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange), presently in audit  FY 2020-21-Revived ACC & 60% 0f 63 ACPCs working from Home  FY 2020 475 ACPCs closed by Government  FY 2018-2020- Revived new opportunities of backend work within genres of data processing; multimedia and Artificial Intelligence post the upheaval of Global Automation of processes  FY 2015-2018- Beneficiaries Trained-8000  FY 2004-2015- Beneficiaries employed-2032 7 AMBA, # 48, HIG, 1st Main, 4th Cross Rd, opp. Pebble Bay, 3rd Block, Amarjyothi Layout, Dollars Colony, R.M.V. 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560094 www.ambaforlife.org
