AfterscoringaGrammyandthreeBritAwardsbackin2009forher9million-selling debutalbumRockferry,DuffywasontracktobethebiggestWelshsoulsingersince DameShirleyBassey.Shehadsoldtonnesofcopiesofherhitsingles'Mercy'and 'WarwickAvenue',butitwasaroundthetimethatshestarredinDietCoke's£35million campaignthatthingsbegantogowrong. Itsoontranspiredthatthiswasjustthebeginningofalong-termplantoget Duffybackontop.MusicBusinessWorldwidereportedlastyearthather comebackissomethingofaspecialprojectforFrenchmediacompanyVivendi. TwooftheirkeysubsidiariesareStudioCanal(thecompanythatproduced Legend)andtheUniversalMusicGroup(whomDuffyissignedto). Yourtimecouldbefarbetterspentonthecreativeendofyourmusiccareeras aperformingandrecordingartist.Youmaylackthenecessaryconnections andmusicpublicitycontactstoproperlyadvanceyourmusiccareerfurther.Or itcansimplycomedowntothefactthatyou’reoverwhelmedbyitallandjust havenocluewheretobegin.Ifyou’veattemptedtogaintheattentionofa wellconnectedartistmanagementrmorbandmanagerthatoftentime providestheseservicesorconnectsyouwiththem,thenyoumayfound yourselfrunningintoabrickwall.
