“As for these things that you now see, the day will come when not one stone will remain upon another; all will be thrown down.” Luke 21:6 November 13, 2022 Worship Bulletin

THE GATHERING OF GOD’S PEOPLE The Time For Greeting Each Other And Signing Our Pew Pads The Morning Prelude “Meditation” By Reginald W. Martin GOD CALLS US TO WORSHIP The Call to Worship— L: Welcome! Welcome in the name of Jesus the Christ! P: We have come to give ourselves to God again! L: We rejoice in the truth that our hope is alive. That God is all power- ful and ever-present. While some will predict the end of all things, we profess God’s Kingdom is ever-near! P: Praise God for the hope he holds before all those who trust and believe in his promise! + The Hymn #126 “Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above” + The Opening Prayer— Heavenly Father, throughout the ages you have proven your con- stant and steadfast love for all who trust you for life. In this sacred hour, may we renew our trust in you that we may never find ourselves in need beyond our capacity to succeed. Remind us that we are not alone, and send your Holy Spirit upon us that it might stir us to become the church alive in service and sacrifice for your Kingdom. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

WE CONFESS OUR SINS The Call to Confession The Prayer of General Confession— In this sanctuary we are bold. In your presence our lips speak of our faith, trust and hope in you. In our singing we echo words of commit- ment and discipleship. In our prayers we sincerely ask you to keep us close by your side. But as we pass through the doors when our worship is over, it is all too easy to leave our good intentions behind. Until we tru- ly and completely trust you, our worship is in vain. Lord, grant us the courage to live as you have intended, and the strength to make the diffi- cult decisions of our lives. For even our lives belong first to you! Amen. Moments For Personal Confession Words of Assurance and Pardon The First Lesson WE SHARE THE WORD 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13 Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Je- sus Christ, to keep away from every brother or sister living irresponsibly and not according to the tradition that they[a] received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not irresponsible when we were with you, 8 and we did not eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day so that we might not burden any of you. 9 This was not because we do not have that right but in order to give you an example to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: any- one unwilling to work should not eat. 11 For we hear that some of you are living irresponsibly, mere busybodies, not doing any work. 12 Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. 13 Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right. Response: L: The Word of God for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God!

Response M: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God. (Alleluia #901)
