Entrepreneurship Development Program for women JSPL Foundation is supporting a group of 10 women for Papad & Pickle production under entrepreneurship development program. The group has been provided with proper training and licensing for production. The member of the group is generating supplementary income through the initiative. To enhance the income of the group, JSPL foundation has supported with a food pulverize machine for commercial grinding that will save time and will help to generate more income. Awareness Campaign on World TB Day JSPL Foundation organized an awareness campaign at nearby villages of the Pataratu Plant on World TB Day. Banners & posters were displayed and a session was convened for employees, truckers, canteen staff, youth and villagers to educate them about the disease, warning data, symptoms, precautions, treatment, etc. World TB Day World TB day was observed on 24 March by JSPL Foundation at the village Dhaurabhata near JPL-Tamnar. Dr. Ashwani Patel of OPJHRC-Tamnar and Dr. Ashwani Patel addressed the villagers and briefed them the cause & treatment, and precaution from TB infection. 52 | Jindal | April 2022
World Oral Health day World Oral Health Day was observed on March 20 at the village Kosampalli near JPL-Tamnar to create awareness among villagers on oral hygiene. Dr. Jytsanan Ojha (Dentist) of OPJHRC addressed and motivated the gatherings to maintain oral hygiene. More than 90 villagers attended the gathering. National Vaccination day JSPL Foundation organized a campaign and awareness program on the National Vaccination Dayon March 16 at nearby villages in JPL- Tamnar. On this day in 1995, the first dose of the oral polio vaccine was given in India. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infectious diseases.” Jindal | April 2022 | 53
Awareness program on World Water Day On the occasion of World Water Day, JSPL Foundation organized an awareness program on water conservation in village Chiraipani, Raigarh. A large number of village women participated in it. Student rally and awareness session organized on water conservation.Similar awareness program was organized in village Patrapali also. World Water Day World Water Day was also observed on March 22 at JPL-Tamnar to highlight the importance of fresh water. Quiz, essay, drawing competitions were organized at Govt. Initiatives against malnutrition JSPL Foundation in collaboration with the District Women and Child Development Department is continuously running a campaign to eradicate malnutrition by providing nutritious foods to children. Under the program ragi laddus and laddus made of jiggery-peanut are being distributed regularly to 130 children of 10 villages through Anganwadi centers. As a result, 50 children are now healthy and normal in health. To celebrate the achievement, a program was organized by JSPL Foundation to honour these children and their parents. They were also provided with seeds of various fruits and vegetables so that they can sow and eat the harvest to maintain the health. District Women and Child Development Officer Mr. Atul Dandekar appreciated the efforts of JSPL Foundation. EVP Sh. Sanjeev Chouhan assured that the campaign will continue. Jindal | April 2022 | 55
