Conflict Management is a practice on defusing the negative impacts of conflicts that are bound to happen whether at work, at home, in school or in the community and instigate positive solutions to manage it. It leads to enhanced engagement of people involved, can collaborate between team members, promotes better working relationship, improved productivity and build trust amongst colleagues. 2. What are the methods or strategies of conflict management? 14 Effective Conflict Resolutions Techniques ✓ Don’t get defensive ✓ Avoid the blame game ✓ Listen actively ✓ Begin statements with “I” ✓ Tame your emotions ✓ Show that you can compromise ✓ Don’t badmouth someone to others ✓ Don’t take it personally ✓ Pay close attention to nonverbal communication ✓ Prioritize resolving the conflict over being right ✓ Know when to apologize and forgive ✓ Focus on the present, not the past ✓ Use humor when appropriate ✓ Remember the importance of the relationship 3. Why this is a trend and issues nowadays? The reason why Conflict Management is considered a trend and issue because of the fact that conflicts are rampant nowadays which are inevitable to happen everywhere or in every aspect of our lives whether at home, at work, in school or in the community. Families, business minded people, teachers, or the people around us are facing different conflicts every day. With that, it is important that Conflict Management will be introduced to them so that they can make a way of defusing the negative impacts of conflicts in building better relationship. Through Conflict Management, people become responsible of their own actions and start taking cautions on their way of solving tension around them. This will help everyone to innovate their solving strategies into more effective and highly efficient management.

4. Can teachers become great conflict managers? Teachers can definitely become great conflict managers not just in the classroom as an adviser, in school as workmates, at home as a family member but also in the community as a professional citizen. Teachers devoted themselves studying their expertise and equipped themselves with influx number of trainings and seminars to become well-rounded professional that are capable of solving whatever problem will arise in the workplace. This actively illustrates that teachers are versatile and not merely viewed as a knowledge driven individual but also a catalyst of peace and order. 5. Provide a situation in how you can handle a conflict and manages it well in a win-win solution. May the situation be in a family, friends, school, or community. Your answer must be in steps or in chronological order. Family: Two siblings fighting over one toy a. First, I will separate the two children until they are calm. b. I won’t put too much focus on figuring out which child is to blame c. Next, I will ask both sides what is the issue all about d. Then, I will let them state their concerns e. I will stick only on the issue over that one toy f. Next, I will tell them that sharing is caring especially they are family g. Then, I will provide positive words like “Be kind and share what is yours” h. Lastly, I will provide something they can gain if they will reconcile and stop fighting like I will buy them snacks, cook their favorite food or buy them a new toy. 6. How can you promote effective and efficient Conflict Management in your classroom, school, and your community? Classroom In the classroom, I can promote effective and efficient Conflict Management through modelling it to my students. Modelling it through letting them see and observe how I manage every conflict that arises inside the four corners of our classroom. This way, students can observe and imitate how I handle things fairly between two conflicting parties. School In school, I will keep in mind the 14 Effective Conflict Resolutions Techniques that I have learned in this course and I will use it when conflicts arise inside the school. I will effectively and professionally use this technique to make the school conducive for everyone. If I do that, things will get better and working is productively done because the environment is not toxic.

Community I can promote Conflict Management in my community through making a proposal to the barangay official to have a program or seminar about it. I will let them know that this program would build their teams and benefit the people that they are serving. Educating them in different techniques of managing conflicts will promote the peace and order of the community where people can be well- equipped with conflict management.
