EUROSCHOOL NORTH CAMPUS THE NEWSLETTER 21th September, 2020 From the Principal’s Desk Dr . Vandana Gupta Dear Parents, Principal As we approach the end of Term-1, it is pleasing to reflect on how well our new students have settled into the school and have become a part of the Euro family. Much of the credit for this goes to our team of teachers who fully understand that children will struggle to focus on learning unless they are fully settled into a school. However, credit must also go to our existing students who are so good at welcoming new students and supporting them in understanding the expectations of our school. I take great pride in the fact that after only a few weeks in school our new students are already settled and fully engaged in learning.

The Professionals From Pre-Primary: Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities have an equal importance in school programme for the all- round development of the child. Keeping this in view, we at EuroSchool North Campus conducted a Fancy Dress for the children of Senior KG. The purpose of conducting the 'Fancy Dress' was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to speak in front of an audience. Children dressed up in their colourful costumes and spoke a few sentences on the character that they depicted. The effort and hard work of children was highly commendable. Students displayed their talents on the theme ‘Professional’. They dressed up as Engineers, Captains, Policemen, Teachers, Waiters, Maids, Painters etc and emphasized upon their need and importance in making our lives easier.

Blue Day Celebration From Pre-Primary: A little splash of colour can brighten our day. Each colour is unique and special in making the world beautiful. On 16/9/2020 (Wednesday) 'Blue Day' was conducted at EuroSchool North campus virtually for our Pre-Primary children. The day began with full enthusiasm. Our tiny tots were all dressed in blue colour attire. The teacher gave a gist on the importance of blue colour as to how it makes things look attractive. She taught them a melodious song on the colour ‘blue’. Children were all set to make ‘Blue Berry Lassi ‘ and ‘Blue Lagoon Mocktail ‘. Little ones were so excited to prepare their own drink that as soon as the teacher started giving the instructions, with full enthusiasm they made their drink. Big smiles on their faces, 'wow' actions with their tiny fingers and cute moustache which was printed while drinking the Lassi was worth watching. Thus the Blue Day was celebrated with great zeal and fun.

Glimpses of Blue Day Celebration

Community Helpers Day From Grade 1 : A community needs many people to help it to function well and make the world a better place to live. Educating students about the community helpers and the kind of roles they play in our daily lives, is highly important. Indeed, they remind us of how inter-connected we all are when we live in a community. With an aim of stimulating the students' imagination and enhancing their social development skills, we celebrated “Community Helpers Day”. A splendid show was put up by our students, who were dressed as doctors, nurses, fire-fighters, policemen, delivery boys etc. It was a joyful moment for them to be their favourite community helper and they even expressed their thoughts of being a community helper to serve the country. Thus, this activity inculcated the feeling of gratitude towards our community helpers.

Hindi Divas Handwriting Competition Grade 3-5

Arithmetic Operations Multiplication with Fun From Grade 3: Memorizing facts in Mathematics is the most important step to understanding Math. Mathematical facts are the building blocks to all other concepts of Maths and memorizing math skills is necessary. Multiplication Tables are used in our daily lives for things like playing games, managing our money etc. Children displayed their understanding of multiplication tables by creatively presenting the \"Multiplication Wheel\" with enthusiasm.

The Geometry of Young Architectures From Grade 4 : To have hands-on experience in Geometry, we had an activity to exhibit the basic geometric concepts of rays, parallel, intersecting (some word is missing here) and angles in order to clarify and understand practical examples of geometry in everyday life. \"I love the simplicity of the cube because it’s a very clear geometrical shape and I love geometry because it’s the study of how the whole universe is structured\", said Emo Rubric. The children were made to do a project that had the concept of line, line segment, ray and an angle integrated into a fun approach of building a model. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and it was one of the hit activities of the first term.

Hues Competition for Teachers Art is a form of expression, an idea, an emotion. The reflection of all these came up in Hues 2020-21 for teachers. The topic of the competition was Inside Out. Teachers of North Campus reflected the component of emotions in an artistic way using various mediums of colours.

Online Mania From desk work to board meetings, from summits to seminars, from conferences to classrooms the world has undergone a paradigm shift as in from being physically present to virtually present. We teachers, the pillars of education, are on an exploratory mode to find ways and means of educating our students in the most desirable and engaging way. We can see the teachers in these pictures here, exchanging ideas, grooming their performances, and trying out different online platforms and methodologies via demo sessions.

The fact that our students are achieving such incredible results is a testament to their commitment and sense of responsibility, as well as the impressive support that they receive from our dedicated teachers. I am sure you will join me in congratulating the students and staff. Their academically ambitious approach to learning is a credit to them and an example to others — well done indeed! Stay Safe, Stay Healthy!! Best Regards, Principal EuroSchool North Campus
