Chuck Coleman is not your average photographer. As a matter of fact, he is blazing his own trail andcreating a movement that will change society\"sperception of the beauty of women. His courage tostep out of the realm of typical Hollywood, maledominated versions of what is beautiful is settinghim apart and getting noticed. After first becoming fascinated with the world ofphotography while in the military some 30 yearsago, he has recently found his photography nicheand has perfected it. That niche is calledSteampunk, and he is dominating it both in theUnited States and abroad. With extensive experience in practically everygenre of photography, Chuck found himselfdissatisfied with the way women are marginalizedby their sex appeal, especially in the world ofmodeling. His vision of women is far different thanthe average male. He sees beauty in the heart andsoul of women, in their stories, in theirextraordinary ability to thrive despitecircumstances which are often challenging. Hebelieves that every woman has her own kind ofbeautiful, and his desire is to eliminate all \"rules' ofThwhat is considered beautiful . The manner in whiche mhe does this is so unique and revolutionary thatCBaemhienrda atnhepeoplearetalking. In a recent interview, Chuck Coleman aka Steampunk Chuck explained his approach: \"The direction of my love for the art of photography is evolving, and the human element has begun to play a significant role in the direction of this change. I feel the general male opinion of what defines beauty has influenced society's perspective for far too long. While traveling across the United States, I observe one common denominator in every woman's closet; they are filled with clothes, most of which are never worn. As she starts perusing her sometimes quite exotic and diverse variety of apparel, she asks me questions. \"Do you like this combination? How do you feel about this piece? \" But one statement seems to be repeated , \"I've never worn this!\" 5

GAME changer The sheer excitement I see over and released with every photo and experience we provide. Allow us to help over again on every woman's face, no you and your loved ones break out of the closet mold, blow off some steam and matter what age or race she is serves to join our efforts to make the world a better place, one Queen at a time.\"\"“I want her to feelsolidify my conclusion. I want her to feel like the queen she is. I want to As you can see, Steampunk Chuck is bring her emotions out of the closet about more than creating beautiful where they have been trapped for so images. He is about creating an experience that will never be forgotten in long. I want to give her a the hearts and minds of women he safe place to free all of photographs. There is a sisterhood both her mind and her formed, where they learn that they are not alone in their pain, nor defined by reality. Our team of Queens work with these women, encouraging them to release all of those pent-up emotions. This is the \"steam\" that is6

Behind The Scenes The Mavericktheir past. It is a rite of passage. It is a chance to bring out the inner childand play. It is a place to laugh. It is a place to cry. It is a place to begin toheal. It is a place of unconditional love. Steampunk Chuck is one of a kind.He truly cares about how women feel. When he is shooting these womenwho have been professionally styled in hair and makeup and Steampunkwardrobe, he is in the zone. That woman feels like the most importantwoman in the world because to him, she is.He sees her as the Queen she is, and she leaves this experience a verydifferent woman than she came. Jamille Webb is not only beautiful and intelligent, but she is also an ambitious, savvy business woman Her life experience has led her to an amazing career in her field, as well as a position as CEO at Steampunk Chuck! Jamille's professional goal was originally to be a pharmacist. However, after multiple attempts at inorganic chemistry and the inability to attain a grade better than \"C\", she decided to reconsider her aspirations. While reconsidering her professional goals, Jamille found herself falling into the trap of procrastination. \"I told myself I would go back to school. However I just needed to take a break.\" She stayed in that mentality for several years. During her break from her educational goals, she went on with her personal life. She got married and had a child. That marriage ended in divorce,, and she eventually attempted a second marriage. In her second marriage, she realized many things. Jamille stated, \"One big realization was that I could be more than I was.\" She hadn't intended to go back to school at that time in her life, but her then husband encouraged her to get a hobby, go back to school, or just to do something to occupy her time. She already had a lot on her plate. She had a two year old toddler and was working full time at an insurance company. In reality, her husband was working long hours and traveling most of the time. The brains behind the beauty... \"During the first year of our marriage, we rarely spent time together. And due to that and other issues, we grew apart.\" So Jamille decided to go back to college. She found that environment to be her educational \"safe space\". She recalled that it was \"one of those places that feels like you belong as soon as you step in the door.\"Jamille Jaffurs CEO She decided to major in business science. As she came to find herself as a student, she says, \"I lost Written by Kristy Arantes myself as a wife. My second marriage failed. if I had known how to be patient and how to communicate 8 more effectively, I believe we could have had a chance to save our marriage.\"

That realization did not occur overnight. Jamille says it took several years of life lessons, self-acceptance andgratitude for her mistakes to obtain clarity and peace. She found solace in her education, and it became her go to therapy when she needed a break from life. \" I hadmade a goal to finish my bachelor's degree, to buy a home, and to be the best mom that I could be for my son.\"She worked towards her bachelor's degree and began saving for a down payment on her first home. Then shebegan to toy with the idea of furthering her education beyond her bachelor's. \"This new found idea of continuingmy education past a bachelor's was more than I had ever imagined for myself. I realized at that moment that mymental barriers were the only things in my way. With this clarity and focus, I completed my master's degree..\"Her face lights up as she relives this moment with precision and perfect clarity. \"I was walking up to the Dean, and Ibowed as she placed the Master's hood over my head. As I stood straight and adjusted the hood on my shoulders, Irealized that I had achieved my goals. I had completed my coursework, I had purchased a home. I had overcomemy own barriers, and I had become more than what I thought I would.\" Education enabled Jamille to obtain aposition that more than doubled her salary.. It allowed her to realize that she was the only obstacle in becomingwhat she wanted to be. \"My strength as an individual, mother and businesswoman increased exponentially when I stopped doubting myself-worth. I had become that strong, independent businesswoman that I had looked up to years before.\"And now, Jamille is excelling in yet another exciting endeavor! She came on board as CEO of Steampunk Chuck inJanuary of 2015. And she is leading the movement to empower women across the globe! 9

She excelled in academics and was quite gifted in writing. She was a high school cheerleader. And despite her fears and anxieties., all seemed well. Then alas, her knight in shining armor appeared. She fell in love for the first time. He wanted to be with her every moment, and that made her feel special. But soon, this relationship turned into more of a prison. Because of his possessiveness, she was no longer \"allowed\" to do the things she loved. She was isolated from her friends, could not speak to other guys, could not go swimming, could not walk to class without him. just to name a few. Since this was her first boyfriend, she was somewhat naive and accepted this as normal. It wasn't long before she was being pressured into having sex. She had been taught that this was \"sin\" outside of wedlock. However, her inability to say no and desire to please her boyfriend ended up in a pregnancy. She was a freshman in high school and only 15 years old. At first she was in denial, then in complete fear. She knew that her mother would hate her. She knew that her father would be disappointed. She was ashamed. As the months passed, it became impossible to hide. She had been spending every moment with her mother, convinced she would be disowned. The day came when this young girl, a14

child in many ways, was confronted by her 15eldest sister. She was forced to take apregnancy test, which confirmed thepregnancy. She was then taken home.Inside was her mother, in a fetal position inthe corner of the sofa, crying. When this girlwent to hug her mom, she was pushed andtold , \"Get AWAY\" from me!\" This wasdevastating. She went to her room to find itwas destroyed. All of her pictures lay brokenon the floor. It was perhaps the worst nightof her life.Time passed, and everyone adjusted to thereality that this teen was having a baby. Shewas ostracized. She was not allowed to gosee her grandmother who was dying, notallowed to see extended family, not allowedto see the father of the baby. It was a lonelytime for her. She was a \"shame anddisgrace\" to her family. This pregnancybecame her defining moment. The psychological, emotional and physicalchanges she went trough were almostunbearable. Her worst fear, a C-section, washer only option for delivery. The babyarrived, a healthy little girl. Since she hadalways loved babies, this was a source ofhappiness for her. This baby loved her asshe was, without judgment.More time passed, and she managed tofinish high school. The continued mentaland emotional abuse from her boyfriendand mother had completely destroyed thisyoung girl's self-worth. She wouldeventually muster the courage to leave both of those abusive situations and livealone with her daughter. She got an apartment, worked, paid her bills, and gave up on her dreams of becomingan attorney. In her mind, she was damaged, ugly, ashamed, and unworthy ofhappiness. She had no friends, no faith, and no hope. That's when someone showed up in her life unexpectedly. It was someone whowas not from that small town.

Maria SilvaModern Day Saint in Atlanta Written by: Kristy ArantesIn a world where we are bombarded with negativity from the media, our mission is tobring uplifting and inspirational stories to our readers....So let us introduce you to Maria, a modern day saint. Steampunk Chuck first heard about Maria from her long time friend Eddie Arantes. Hisheart was deeply touched. He needed to meet this woman, to share her incredible story, and to do something special for her. You see, Mariais originally from Brazil. She has lived in the US for several years, working as a housekeeper to survive. With very little English, her options tomake a living have always been limited. However, she has never allowed this to deter her from anything. About 11 years ago, Maria beganmaking sandwiches and driving to the streets of downtown Atlanta, GA to feed the homeless. She did this for a long time. However, shereally wanted to do more, but had very few resources. After giving it some thought, she decided to go to local Brazilian restaurants and ask for the food they planned to throw out at the end of theday. Her persistence paid off, and they agreed. She now fills her mini van with hot meals, soups, breads, juices, coffee, and desserts. Everysingle Wednesday and Sunday evening, you will find her at the Pine Street homeless shelter located in the shadows of Atlanta skyscrapers. She and a few volunteers feed 400-1000 men twice a week. Rain or shine, cold or hot, tired or not, she is there for them, twice a week, withoutfail. She brings smiles, hugs, and a lot of love to these men who have experienced misfortune in their lives. Most people ignore them, lookthe other way, and view them as worthless. But not Maria because to her they are family. After she leaves the shelter each week, she goes under a bridge where two men have lived for four years. She brings them food for the week. They shared with us a story about Maria's dedication. One day, her vehicle broke down en route to the bridge. She asked the tow truck drivertake her to the bridge to ensure they were fed. 18

With tears in her eyes she said, \"This 19is the best day of my life!\"

Every Christmas, Maria asks for donations. She collects blankets, coats, gloves, hats and socks. She brings Santa Claus to deliver these gifts. Every person receives something new to ease their suffering and raise their spirits. She is beloved by these men. She doesn't just deliver food, she delivers hope and love. Steampunk Chuck wanted to give back to Maria. So, he asked Eddie to give her a call her, invite her to be pampered like a queen, and do a photo shoot. Although at first she was hesitant, she finally agreed. Maria arrived on that beautiful Saturday morning and was given the royal treatment. From professional hair and makeup to wardrobe, she was transformed. She posed for the camera, being playful like a little girl, and revealing her inner child. All attention was on making her feel special and beautiful. When she looked into the mirror with those big, beautiful green eyes, her face lit up, and her smile was captivating. There were tears of joy as she shared how she felt like a \"new person\". She said, \"This is the best day of my life.\" This woman has so little and gives so much. The world needs more Marias. We feel honored to know her and to share her story with the world!20

We, as individuals, have to assume the new role of Gold Star to decide if we want to Mother. This role is reserved for those of us participate or not.\" that have lost a child in military conflict. This has been a difficult and sometimesBrandy debilitating role to assume, but we don't Honeycutt get to choose the how and whys of life. We get to choose how we react to what Written by: Brandy Honeycutt comes our way. The reality is that life keeps going. We, as individuals have to choose if we want to participate or not. The philosophy that everything happens for a reason is not one that resonates within me, but I do believe that there is good and bad in every situation. And there are lessons to be learned from every experience. I am a firm believer that time and memories are the best gifts. It is the memories we created and the love my son and I shared that has given me strength. I believe tragedy enhances our true selves, our strengths and weaknesses. For me, it put me in a place of gratitude for the time I had with my son and for the value I put on how I experience my life...for him, for my other son and for myselfOur lives are defined by the roles we are born into, and the roles we assume. For me, mymost important roles are mother, daughter, adventure seeker and lover of life ingeneral. Based on the roles given to us, the paths we choose, and the choices we makeas individuals, some of our characteristics are developed more predominantly thanothers. For me, being the daughter of a woman that worked in an environment dominated by men, embracing femininity was not a luxury we could afford and being emotional was viewed as a sign of weakness. This doesn't mean that being a woman was something to be ashamed of, but it means that not being strong and independent was shameful. I am grateful for the strength and resilience that I have within myself, some inherent and some learned. As a 42 year old woman, I have lived enough that I have had to choose22 whether to let my hurt and hardships define me. Regardless of whoe we are or where

Renaissance I became a parent at a young age. Now Queen that my youngest son is in college, I am focusing on the next phase in my life. I have adopted a \"why not\" philosophy, meaning that if it is not going to cause harm to me, anyone or anything else , I will be open to it. My \"why not\" philosophy and the desire to \"live\" life, not 'walk beside it \" as Cloris Leachman says, has helped nurture my adventurous, free- spirited soul. I have traveled a little, including flying to Tanzania and hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro, jumped out of a plane (once and tandem of course), did a couple of zip lines, crashed into some trees in a hot air balloon, and spent a beautiful day on a sailboat. I tried scuba diving, but it is not for me. And I can't drive over big bridges without having a panic attack. This makes me laugh, except when I am on a bridge! It is the \"why not\" mentality that led me to Steampunk Chuck. I was drawn to his images by his use of lighting and the way his style embraced the woman as a whole being; the feminine in the soft fabrics and lighting, and the masculine in the use of leather and metals. The strong poses exude confidence and sexuality without compromising integrity. It reminded me of the female characters from movies like Mad Max. They were so strong AND sexy. At 42, I have learned that the yin and yang of life has made me the person I am. I am that strong and sexy woman! I am a feminine, loving, vulnerable, creative woman embracing my blessings and living with passion and gratitude. 23

Cassidy Sawyer Head HouHsaeiMrstaykliesutp Artist & A natural born talent... Written by: Kristy Arantes- Steampunk Chuck is excited to introduce Cassidy Sawyer, our new head house makeup artist and hairstylist! Cassidy joined us a few short months ago, and she is bringing world class talent to the Steampunk Chuck team. Cassidy is originally from Austin. Texas, where she grew up with her mother, step- dad, and three sisters. She has fond memories of her step-dad whom she praises for \"raising her as his own\". In addition, Cassidy has three older siblings from her biological father. As a child, she had to overcome many obstacles. Her family moved frequently. She rarely had what most would consider stability, or what she refers to as a \"safe spot\". \"Things were hard, and I was on my own a lot.\" The frequent moves caused her to struggle academically and socially. She was never able to make lasting friendships. In retrospect, Cassidy feels that the lack of parenting and stability actually served her growth as a person.3344

35

\"I would not have known half the things I now know had I not gone through so much.\" Although she did not excel in academics, she never gave up. She used her situation to take everything in and learn from it. \"I learned manners and a good personality will get you further than anything.\" As an older sister, Cassidy enjoys helping her younger sisters and showing them different things. \"Being older has its advantages. She is able to help them in ways she didn't have, and she continues to do so. \"I learned manners and a good personality will get you further than anything.\" Cassidy began to experiment with makeup at the age of 12. She recalled, \"My mom finally let me play in makeup and color my hair. She showed me how to wear it properly. Immediately, I saw the difference, and I fell in love with the transformation.\" So a couple of years ago, Cassidy moved form Austin to Las Cruces, New Mexico. There, she attended Olympian University to study cosmetology. She learned to do it all, including cuts, color, waxing and makeup artistry. She decided to focus on makeup because she said, \"I have found my passion, and I personally love it the most!\" Cassidy says she is fascinated with the way you can bring out certain features and the fact that you can change the way one looks with makeup.36

37

\"Its amazing to see thereactions of the women...thatfeeling is priceless.\" 38

\"My philosophy is, the betteryou look, the better youfeel.\"When asked about meeting to expanding even further.\" Her future goals and aspirations include doing makeup forSteampunk Chuck for the first time, runway, weddings, and much more. \" The makeup and hair world is always evolving, she recalled, \" I was intimidated by and I will evolve, not only with my visions, but also with the ones around me.\" Cassidy ishow serious he is about his work. I was initially a littlesame passion with mine.\" Cassidy's intimidated by all the new people and all of the new places. But everyone I have met isdream with makeup artistry has so nice, so talented, and all come with their own story as well. As we travel togetheralways been to \"GO BIG!\" She says, \"I and grow closer, we are more like a family than anything. We walk into a house aslove drama, I love big and bold, and I strangers and leave so differently than we came. It's like we open up, and some of usalso love contrast.\" Cassidy admires bloom. Sometimes, some of us just need a break, and we are all open ears and openChuck's work, his ideas, and his arms. It truly is the best feeling. I cannot wait to meet more people and shareimages. She says it embodies experiences with everyone!\"everything she loves. She enjoys theprocess at Steampunk Chuck. 39\"I talk to him, see the wardrobe, andthen there is a vision. Steampunkwork is different than what peopleusually see. It isn't the typical 'ohthat's so pretty' ! It's the 'oh that's sobold and strong and fierce!\" She saysit's amazing to see the reactions of thewomen. \"Better yet, I live for thosemoments when I am done with amodel's hair and makeup. They get upand go look in the mirror. I knowwhenever they sat down in the chair, and I showed them what I was aboutto do, they were intimidated. Butwhen they get up and see themselves, they realize what it's all about. Theyfinally see the vision I saw before, andthat feeling is priceless.\"As Steampunk Chuck grows, Cassidyis looking forward to new challengesand projects. \"I plan to contribute myvision and input to this amazingmovement.
