Globa..l.Achievers SOCIAL RANJANA JOSHI “There’s no limit to what a woman can ac- complish” Dr. Ranjana Joshi, Miss India Interna- tional Wheel Chair Malaysia 2020, an As- sistant Professor at CS Engineering Pacific University (PAHER), a Motivational Speaker, and an entrepreneur. A woman who always be- lieved that her abilities are always bigger than her disabilities. Dr. Ranjana, a tough broad, fought the odds of her life standalone and became an inspiration for thousands of people. At the age of 2, she was diag- nosed with a spinal cord and femur fracture. This was due to an accident-she fell off the roof. Because of her injury, she completed her school and further education from home as she couldn't walk or even stand. Because of her frac- ture, she suffered from three drastic surgeries, which failed as her case was unusual, and its cure was skittish even to the best doctors in the world. Being the elder sister, she had the responsibilities of her four sisters and a brother. Ranjana as a versatile woman attainted numerous achievements in different field of her work like Miss India International Wheelchair & Inspiration Award,2020, World Book of Talent Records for WBTR In- spiration Personality face of India,2020, Women's' Pride Award, 2020, National Award Iconic Personality, 2019, Super 30 Awards for best Social Activist, woman Recognition Award by Rajasthan Patrika & 95 Tadka 31, FEBRUARY , 2021 | 3

Globa..l.Achievers Rajasthan Gaurav Ratna Award, Youth World Social Queen Award, Women Preneur Award for her contribution in the educational field, Geniuses World Record holder for Extraordinary talent and social work and so many ceaseless achievements. She grew up watching the struggles but handling them in her way. She went through tough times, but the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. At the age of 35, she desired to get recogni- tion as \"Dr.,\" and for that, she began her higher education as a regular student and attained the professional degrees of MSC. The strongest people make time to help others, even if they're struggling with their problems. She's a real social welfare enthusiast who works for numerous poor children whose inner strengths are far more flabbergasting than the normal ones. Every day for two hours, she imparts computer science education, both theoretical and practical, to needy students free of cost in various NGOs. Dr. Ranjana is not only connected with myriad NGOs, but she has registered one - The Man Global Welfare Foundation. A candle never fears being lit, nor does it say no to relighting. Dr. Ranjana always accepted new beginnings of her life and aced all of them with her determination and strength. A woman's life is on an incline, she either goes up or goes down, but she never settles. She made her disability her strength, and with brave wings, she flies. Sun is alone, but it still shines brightly, just like the sun; Dr. Ranjana chose her path, walked alone through- out, and created a thriving future for herself. Globa..l.Achievers FASHION Dr. Lipika Modi “We get one life, so live for your- self and smile” Today we unfold the story of Dr. Lipika Modi- a pageantry queen, a social activist, and a groomer. She is the State Coordinator of Assam appointed by the Anti-Corruption Foundation of India. She believes to work for a cause and has done relief work during the Annual Assam Floods. She is associated with feed the hunger projects and strongly advocates body positivity and women empowerment. Lipika is a recipi- ent of Dr. Sarojini Naidu International Award-2020 and the Interna- tional Pride Women Award. She has also been honored with the Crown Women of Substance Award at the All India Achievers Conference. In her first pageant, Maven Ms Plus Size India 2019, Lipika was the only finalist from North-East India. Lipika is a one-woman army who is doing wonders in her life and making an impact on the lives of others as well. The tendency to extend a helping hand to the ones in need runs in her genes. Following the example set by her father and grandfather, she started her journey of social work in 2017. In 2019, when she stepped into the fashion industry to participate in her first pageant, it was a tough call for her. Her travel from Guwahati to Delhi (where the event took place) is a rather splendid example of determination and self-motivation. FEBRUARY, 2021 | 12

Globa..l.Achievers From there on, there was no looking back. Today, Lipika has established a name for herself as a fashion icon and has won accolades in various beauty pageants. Being a part of the fashion industry has also helped her advocate for body positivity and women empowerment. She is following her passion for mod- eling. Lipika has been invited as a Chief Guest at many events in Guwahati. During her interactions with the audience, she felt that it was important for everybody to know her story so that it could be- come an example to inspire others to live their dreams. She started by conducting grooming classes that revolved around ‘affirmations'. Sensing that since many people couldn’t be a part of her sessions due to financial issues or lack of support from the family, she began to hold sessions free of charge. It gave her immense satis- faction to see her teaching have a valuable impact on her students. One could see a notable change in the women after the grooming was completed. She urges us to take our me-time and pamper ourselves, to follow our dreams and do something for ourselves. Find time for your hobbies, and go on a solo trip every once in a while. Most importantly LOVE YOURSELF. To get her message across, she quotes the former president Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, “ As far as the path is visible move up there. After reaching there you will be shown the way for- ward.” Her mother has played a key role in encouraging her with the following words-“Fear is not an option”. This has kept her moving forward with positivity and increased her confidence. Lipika’s faith in God is an essential source of strength for her. In testing times, her mantra to motivate herself is- “Just like the other times, this too shall pass.” She is in the process of en- tering into another field she is passionate about- Act- ing and Theatre. She wishes to keep going and continue following her dreams and working towards giving to the society. Scripted By : Shubhangini Singh Mahecha FEBRUARY, 2021 | 13
