V. Show made a documen- tary “Shiney The Kathak Queen” for her noteworthy achievements. While we were all in lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak Shiny enthusiastically took a 21 days challenge and started an online initiative on her YouTube channel and Facebook. The online campaign promoted to stay at home and make a chain to break the chain. It was her constant effort to post a new video every morn- ing with a new theme to support lockdown and spread awareness. With this campaign, she became a leader and inspired the stu- dents of her school and other schools to join her campaign. She was a con- stant guide and supervisor for the children in making the videos for 21 days on the given theme daily. The themes for the campaign included- a tribute to all soldiers, maintain social distancing, salute to the medical staff, support lockdown, tribute to mothers and teachers, be a helping hand, etc. All the themes have left an impact on society. It is the last day of the calendar and a special day for each person be- cause it is time for welcoming another year, enjoying with family and friends, having fun, and taking resolutions for the upcoming year. In old times it was celebrated by worshiping god or by making food for the needy people or by just wishing each other at 12 o clock then pray in front of God. The traditions these days have changed with the influence of western culture. It includes parties, eating tasty food, going out for celebrating the new year in places like Manali, Kasol, and making reso- lutions for the new year, and watching the fireworks. New Year’s Day or January 1 symbolizes the beginning of a new calen- dar according to the modern Gregorian calendar and the Julian calen- dar. It was the first time celebrated in 45 BC under the Julian calendar. Later, Pope Gregory acknowledged January 1 as the beginning of the new year as per his reform of the Catholic Liturgical Calendar. New Year Day varies from country to country; tradition to tradition. India is a diverse land with an amalgamation of various communities. All the communities celebrate their New Year on different dates as per their calendars. According to the Hindu calendar, the new year falls between March and April. Overall it is a festive season that brings everyone to- gether and spreads happiness all around. A new day reflects a fresh be- ginning and inspires us to move forward in life.
