He also has acted in the latest web series coming up, ‘Manzar’. How has your experience been during your journey up to here? “As I was a corporate guy, so I had a lucrative career graph. At a much later stage of my life, I transitioned into being an actor. Acting is not a steady, salaried gig, your earnings vary according to the projects you get. Initially, there was a lot of struggle but slowly and steadily, I was able to get some marketing assignments using my passion, obsession and discipline. At times it was exhausting but has brought so much joy to be living your dream.” Why did you change your profession to be an actor? “Acting has been my passion since I was a child. Now that I am answering that call, which really brought me back to my childhood dream. One thing I believe is that the universe is your friend that conspires to help you achieve your dreams. During his lunch time, he saw that there is huge demand for menu cards and discount coupons among his colleagues.He faced problems in standing for hours in restaurant queue just to get his lunch . And he wasn't satisfied by the service.He wanted to solve this problem not just for his company but for restaurant and hotels all over india.but it would take tremendous hard work and time to do something on a big scale.It's very hard for a middle class person to take such a big step , as he has to quit his job and make the necessary arrange- ment for his family too.And if he failed in his mission, it will be a risky gamble with his career.So,He thought of starting from small scale and then grow it vi- ably .He and his office friend PANKAJ CHADDAH started adding menu items of nearby restaurants and listed them on intra net websiteWhich they named foodiebay.com GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE JUNE , 2021 | 27

And as expected, their hardwork paid off.They saw a huge surge in their traf- fic for menus.They were happy and excited looking at thier growth and wanted to scale up.So,They launched thier website open in public in 2008.After getting a good response,they were no more doubtful on thier deci- sion and gave their 100 % time and energy on their idea and left thier job.This decision was going to make them a millionaire.As said,Every middle class person has a right to dream and convert thier dream into reality. Deepinder Goyal and his friend PANKAJ did the same.With alot of hope and passion ,They traveled major cities like pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai .and started listing restaurants on thier website.They also started hiring graduates from IIT to help them scaling thier idea.But difficulties were in- evitable,The scalability was hard , it was a com- pletely new startup and nothing like that has ever seen in india. Later in 2010, foodiebay was renamed as ZOMATO, to capture more and more cities.Com- pany which started from scratch was now started getting heavy investments.They raised thier first investment of 4.7 crore from info edge india .And similarly every year , Zomato was getting more and more investment and they started working in all major cities.Deepinder's family which once weren't ready for this startup as it was too riskyNow started believing in him.This shows us ,how a dream to bring a progressive change in the world and hardwork can give you success.
