ENTERTAINMENT Mukesh Dahiya The film industry is a reflection of so- ciety, and India has long been recog- nised for its prestigious film industry. For an outsider, the dream of working in cinema is akin to achieving nirvana because we live in a country of over 1.2 billion people where carving out a niche in the film industry is extremely difficult. Every day, thousands of peo- ple enter this industry to pursue their dreams, and thousands more leave without realising them. However, this is the story of someone who worked tirelessly to promote his culture in the film industry and make the Haryanvi industry popular among the public at large. Mukesh Dahiya, a dream-eyed boy from a remote village in Haryana, who achieved his far-fetched dream and has become a prestigious personality in the film industry. He is a director and producer of independent documentaries, cor- porate and fiction films, commercial ads, and television serials. He has been working in the Indian film industry since 1998, directing and producing iconic songs such as 'Hatt jaa tau paache ne' and the famous Haryanvi comedy serial 'Kunba Dharma ka'. There is hardly any work in the entertainment industry that he doesn’t know about. “A little progress everyday adds up to big results” Mukesh was born into a very disciplined and sophisticated family of defence back- ground. However, it is not surprising to learn that he has always been drawn to the arts and creative activities since he was a child. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 3

He used to draw illustrations and cre- atives of his teachers and other students ever since he was in primary school. When he decided to enter the film indus- try, it was not a walk in the park due to rising competition and equally rising re- jection. He used to daydream about his aim, but he struggled a lot as he knew no one in the film industry. As a result, he de- cided to begin his career at the local level. He first worked as a technician to . gain a better understanding of MARCH , 2022 | 4 how the film industry works. Fol- lowing that, he also worked as a Director of Photography and Art Director for well-known directors and producers. “Dreams do come true if we have the courage to pursue them” From 1998 to 2000, he worked as a freelancer, and in 2000, he founded his own company, \"DAHIYA MUSIC,\" under Chan- chal Communication. He began it as a freelance venture in 1998 but with his determination & passion, he was able to establish it as a successful film production com- pany which he named as 'Dahiya Films Production’. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE

Since 1998, he has directed a variety of entertainment videos in a variety of genres. His passion and commitment to work has been the same whether for corporate en- tities or non-profit organisations that has given him and his production unit the ability to provide video services and solutions unrivalled in the industry. Presently, his company has currently created over 150 creative projects and has given over 2000 successful projects to other companies, including Jagdeesh cassettes, Jag- damba series, Saraswati Cassettes, Cheta Cassettes, Chanda Cassettes, Supertone, Superfine, Raja Cassettes, T-series, Shishodiya, and many more in both regional and Hindi language. “The only difference between suc- cess and fail- ure is the ability to take action” In the beginning, he used to face a lot of criticism and resentment because of his Haryanvi background when he worked in other industries. Because of his mother tongue, people would sometimes form an unbiased opinion of him. So, to prove those people wrong and to show his respect for the culture, he decided to direct and produce his own Haryanvi show. That’s when, he created a very in- teresting and well-known Haryanvi comedy show, 'Kunba Dharme Ka,' through this production company, which has received a lot of love from the audience. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 5

He not only made people laugh with this show, but he also spread social messages about the envi- ronment, women's empowerment, and other issues. He has received numerous awards and recogni- tions for his achievements in the film industry. In the future, he in- tends to bring more entertaining shows, movies, and songs to the audience to take the entertain- ment industry to the next level. Mukesh Dahiya, in addition to being a director and producer, works for the bet- terment of society at his own level by assisting the needy in their education who do not have access to basic facilities. He also contributes to the development of local hospitals to provide good healthcare facilities to the poor. “You’re the director of your life – you choose where to put the focus.” The message he wishes to convey to society is that focus is the key to suc- cess. If you want to excel at something, you must focus with the precision of a laser. You must earn focus like Arjuna from the Mahabharata, who became the greatest archer. You must concen- trate on what you want in life and pur- sue it with zeal. There will be times in life when you will face distractions and obstacles that you must overcome while remaining focused on your goal. SOCIAL WORK DR. PRAKASH C. GIDWANI “My only motto in life is to serve the sick and dead” (Dr Prakash C Gidwani) Have you ever heard of the phrase \"Candle in the Dark\"? Well, this man per- fectly fits this phrase. This story is dedicated to a man who became a messiah for many people out there, a man who is serving the sick and dead irrespective of caste and creed, in coordi- nation with the Mumbai Po- lice and most importantly, by becoming a lending hand to the helpless. This is where social activist Dr. Prakash C. Gidwani steps into the picture and makes arrangements for the last rites for a life he knew nothing of until that mo- ment. “Be courageous. Challenge orthodoxy. Stand up for what you believe in.” GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 7

Dr. Prakash C. Gidwani is a man known for his bravery, selflessness and most importantly, his commitments. He is a social activist, SEO president of Mumbai, the International Human Rights Social Justice Commission and many more. For his noble work, he has been felicitated with various awards, such as the Godfrey Philips Bravery Award in 2009, along with the late Mrs Sindhutai Sakpalji Padam Shree Award, the Limca Book Award, the Yashvassvi Award, the Genious World Record and many more. He has been a part of many major mainstream events that changed the lives of many penurious people. Along with serv- ing the sick & dead, he also contributed to a plantation drive, per- suaded BMC to consider free wood for cremations and helped people with kidney replacement at Hinduja Hospital and many more. He is also a member of the BMC's disaster man- agement cell, where he collects unclaimed bod- ies from various Mum- bai hospitals and complete the last rites re- spectfully. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 8

Dr Prakash C. Gidwani also said that many parents leave home in dis- tress, either to commit suicide or to seek shelter in old-age homes. So, they take care of these people by pro- viding them with better medical as- sistance before reuniting them with their children. Even during the COVID era, the deadly virus couldn’t stop him from burying unclaimed dead bodies in cemeteries and serving the needy people. By profession, he is a retired pharma and legal cooperative act consultant who has cremated over 5ooo+ dead bodies and 350+ Covid positive bod- ies till now. He believes that respect MARCH , 2022 | 9 should be given even to the dead, known or unknown. That’s why he just assists the police by cremating bodies. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE

Being a senior class I officer in the ministry of defence, his father was often transferred from one city to another. From his childhood, he got an opportunity to visit various parts of the country. He travelled a lot with his family, where he observed that nobody cares about the oppressed and helpless people and this was the turning point in his life when he decided that he would help those people who needed it. “Life has got all those twists and turns. You’ve got to hold on tight and off you go.” He also assisted the police in cases of roadside deaths, emergencies and matters where medical assis- tance was required. As a former Tata employee, he is also associated with various social organisations and is working to green the city. He has planted al- most 7,500 trees in the city; most of them are in Versova, where he lives. Call him a hero, a saviour, a res- cuer, or a preserver. Dr Prakash C Gidwani is a man of words and a true messiah. Some people call him a guardian angel for the poorest of the poor, while some call him a ray of hope. All we can say is that, in- deed, he is an inspiring soul to many people out there. Scripted By : Nandini Gaur GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 10

‘Not Being Structured is like MARCH , 2022 | 13 being in a structure itself On June 4, 1957, the world welcomed this versatile human who was born and raised in the Birupa villages of Baisimouza. He, like us, did not have a structured life of growing up with his parents or attending school. In- stead, he was self-taught in an un- structured, unorganised and private manner in which he used to write his final examinations in various centres selected by the school board and lived under the complete tutelage of his great grandfather Mr Kulamani Swain. After finishing his primary & secondary education, he earned his master’s degree from Kirori Mal Col- lege, University of Delhi, in 1978. Following that, after his studies, he taught at Khalsa College, University of Delhi. Since the beginning, he has always been an opponent of power, believing that it corrupts us. That’s why, in 1981, he stepped up and chose to serve in the Indian Foreign Services, where he worked tirelessly on global trade matters and trade negotiations. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE

Sometimes the smallest steps in the right direction bring the biggest change. During his 37-year diplomatic career, he has served in multiple international countries, such as Madrid, Mexico City, Abidjan, Moscow, Karachi, Buenos Aires, and New York. Throughout his career, he has always contributed his best with the utmost sincerity and became an exemplar of integrity & hard work. He has received numerous recognitions and awards for his outstanding contri- butions to the promotion of communal harmony, national integration, and peace, including the Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award, highest civilian of Ivory Coast, second highest civilian of Argentina, highest civilian of Uruguay & Paraguay, and many more. Don’t waste your time in worrying, always use it to serve & help others. He believes in empowerment and has always done his best to assist others. He assisted UPSC aspi- rants who lacked basic resources by teaching them for free in order to help them achieve their goals. During the COVID era, he also arranged for a large number of cylinders and concentrators to be donated to the various areas of the north-east, Odisha, and Leh & Ladakh with the assistance of many overseas organisations. So, in order to broaden his possibilities and assist more people, he established two organisations: Millennial India In- ternational Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture, where people can directly seek help from other experienced as well as retired bureau- crats to solve their problems, and Indian Cultural & Economic Cooperation, which assists people in the import and export of various projects. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE MARCH , 2022 | 14

Always push yourself to do the things you love. Since his childhood, he was always fasci- nated by books. Till now, he has written 40 poetry books in four languages: Hindi, Odia, English, and Spanish. Also, during the un- precedented time of COVID, he published his new books, \"Acknowledging Times’and ‘Gar- den of Enchanted Stones and Other Poems.\" He was not only a diplomat and a writer, but also an excellent cricketer. ‘Life has everything, but you have to look for it. If you find it, then it’s fine, and if you don't, then the process of learning is also a great way to find it’. The message he wishes to convey to society is that India is a country of 1450 million people, with 550 million mid- dle-class citizens who are constantly striving to meet ex- pectations and 450 million poor people who require assistance. Among them, 350 million of them become pub- lic sector employees or government servants and rich who are only concerned with what they have to do. The coun- try was then divided horizontally and vertically into rich and poor India, as well as rural and urban India. How- ever, even in this situation, you must recognise that you are still an Indian and must fulfil your responsibilities as such. We definitely need an incredible personality like him in our society who have such exemplary thoughts to share with the world.
