Deborah RequesensQuarterly Activities UpdatesApr19th – July 21st, 2016NIGMS Human Genetic Cell Repository (HGCR) Prepared content and presented at the 3rd and 4th Contract Review Meetings (May 3rd, Jul 18th) Attended the Rare Patient Advocacy Symposium (UPenn, Philadelphia, May 6th) o Followed up with contacts, emailed family disease groups with information about HGCR Assisted Genetic Counselor (TS) with making a new webinar presentation for the RARE Foundation Alliance, a new video for the Rett Syndrome Family Conference and a two-part blog for the Global Genes Foundation Finalized list of conferences for HGCR team to attend in 2016 to increase submission recruitment targets and repository awareness: o Conference call with the Global Genes Foundation. Invited to speak at their Annual Summit in September 2016. Managed Coriell-wide customer related assistance: o Responded to and/or assigned all customer related inquiries Point of contact for Customer Support (CS) regarding scientific inquiries, MTAs, SRIs o Organized and presented at “Lunch and Learn” meetings with CS Team and representatives of every contract 2nd meeting was regarding MTAs and SRIs (May 26th) 3rd meeting was regarding the use of Queue and handling Custom Orders (Jun 21st) o Assisted Director of Biobanking Logistics and Quality Standards (LC) in preparation of standard email replies for CS’s use o Attended a meeting with the Director of Biobanking and Quality Standards (LC) and IT representatives to discuss using JIRA for CS and Orders on Demand Finalized NIH 4D Nucleome Consortium project outline o Participated in several conference calls with consortium participants and finalized and delivered final Service Agreement to the Program Coordinator Attended a meeting with the Director of Strategic Alliances (CF) to take over responsibility for all HGCR Custom DNA and RNA extraction quotes and customer interactions regarding custom service work Organized efforts to update iPSC and Stem Cells information on catalog: o Organized meetings with Stem Cell Lab and a project manager (LB) to identify changes needed o Organized meetings with IT to initiate changes on both HGCR and Coriell catalog pages Publicity efforts included: o Preparing several “What’s New” articles with the Communications team (MC), to be displayed on the HGCR catalog page o Updating the Coriell conferences booth display with the Communications team o Preparing a new HGCR submissions video (in progress) Attended weekly meetings with HGCR team, Stem Cell Lab, and Mol Bio LabCoriell: Presented at the Scientific Engagement Meeting (June 15th) Researched, prepared and submitted application for W.W. Smith Charitable Trust Medical Research Grant (with VC, NT, Jul 15th) o $150K to create disease (LQT3) in a dish model utilizing iPSCs and CRISPR/Cas9 Spearheaded effort to create and distribute Publications Survey to Coriell customers to capture sample related publications Interviewed Jack Hsiao, candidate for the Postdoctoral Research position Attended AEM, SEM and BSO meetings as well as candidate seminars
