PALOK POLLI Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Domestic Violence The project aims to create a safe space for the women who have faced violent and traumatizing circumstances, and need a space to heal from the abuse. After researching on ways to create an environment which can alleviate the suffering of these women, several factors were taken into account, which eventually became the framework for the project. The solutions demonstrate how a complex such as this can greatly help these women, and also the society as a whole, by simply making the people see the reality of what these women go through.

TEACHER STUDENT CENTRE TSC Dhaka University Extension Project Dhaka University area has served as the focal point of culture and politics for decades in Dhaka. Along with other notable institutions, the Teacher Student Center makes up a strong cultural corridor in the heart of Dhaka, and TSC is at the centre. Therefore the expansion of TSC was handled as such that it not only serves the purpose as an extension but also doesn’t disrupt this cultural hub.The extension was thus approached keeping in mind the intricacies of the site and its surroundings. The idea was to create a built space that doesn’t look drastically different from the original struc- ture in terms of spatial quality, while also mak- ing sure it doesn’t lose its own identity.

HOUSING COMPLEX Jhigatola, Dhaka Government Housing Project Home is where the heart is. In this ever changing, high speed life, our homes have to be the safe haven we need to live a happy, healthy life. However, an apartment complex in one of the busiest neighborhoods of the city, not only has to accomodate the homes of the residents, but also amenities that cater to their needs. This complex also kept in mind the community it is in and attemts to open its doors to the people as well to create an integrated neighborhood.

PROTIBESH Mohammadpur, Dhaka Community Centre The world is moving forward at a speed never seen before. In an attempt to try and catch up, we are losing touch with the things that we should hold most important - the human connection. The goal of this studio was to create a space which draws people in by providing amenities for them that encourage group activities and thus collaboration. by creating spaces for children and adults alike, the community center aims to draw the neighbourhood in and thus become the focal point of the community.

NALANDA Rajgir, India INTERNSHIP Vastu Shilpa Consultants Sangath I spent the 10 weeks of my internship semester working on one of Sangath’s longest running projects - Nalanda University. My primary resposibility was to create the working drawings for the sports complex washrooms. Along with that, I also helped in making a proposal for the Bihar government which oulined how a town grows around an university. Other minor projects I worked on included reports on student dormitories, presentations and research on international student towns.
