Getting ready to return to school

Your class will have a new name: Sirius or Canopus. These are named after the brightest stars in the sky. Nursery classes will be called Grasshoppers and Dragonflies

Arriving at school Things might look a bit different. There will be signs on the floor and the walls to remind adults to keep their distance. Check you know: • entrance gate, • classroom, • name of your teacher.

Arriving at school Reception and Nursery Soft start is slightly longer, Nursery children can arrive at school between 8.00 and 8.30am. Reception between 8.30 and 9am. No facemasks. Remove and give to your parent to take home Say goodbye to mum and dad before you get to the classroom door Nursery children will go to the new Grasshopper and Butterflies classrooms where Mr McEvoy and Miss May will be ready to see you. Reception Sirius will be in the Reception classrooms Reception Canopus will be in the Year 2 classrooms Look out for your new class sign.

Arriving at school Year 1, 6 and if your parent is a key worker. Soft start is slightly longer, you can arrive at school between 8.30 and 9am. Avoid arriving late. If you arrive late, queue outside the main school entrance. Say goodbye to your adult. No facemasks. Remove and give to your parent to take home Year 1 - Say goodbye to mum and dad before you get to the classroom door Year 1 Sirius you will be in the Year 1 classrooms Year 1 Canopus you will be in the Year 3 classrooms Year 6 Sirius, use the Year 6 door, and go upstairs to your classroom Year 6 Canopus use the Year 5 door and stairs to you new classroom Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, use the Year 4 door and stairs, find your new classroom. Saturn children, you will be based in the music room Look out for your new class sign.

Keeping you safe Hand-washing • Your teacher will ask you to wash your hands a lot! • Watch this video about how to wash your hands

Keeping you safe ‘Catch it, bin it, kill it’ • when coughing, tissues should be thrown away and you should wash your hands; • don’t touch your mouth, nose and eyes with your hands; • tell an adult if you are feeling unwell.

Keeping you safe Stay with your class, • follow the rotas and rules for where you can and can’t play during break and lunchtimes • follow the rules for using toilets, only use the ones assigned to your class group, no more than 3 children at a time!
