Marie Antoinette is a 2006 historical drama featuring Kirsten Dunst. The movie is based on and revolves around the life of Queen Marie Antoinette. Marie Antoinette was a fourteen-year-old Archduchess of Austria who traveled to France to marry the Dauphin of France who was later crowned as King Louis XVI. This marriage was to seal an alliance between the two rival countries. After her marriage, she was pressured into producing an heir right away and was looked down upon when she could not bear any even though the person at fault was King Louis XVI. Marie Antoinette spent most of her time shopping and ABOUT gambling. At age 18, the current ruler of France, King Louis XV, died of smallpox which led to Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI being crowned as Queen and King. On the 19th day of December 1778, Marie Antoinette birthed their daughter, Princess Marie Therese Charlotte of France. When THE France's economy started to decrease, she was seen living her life normally and luxuriously which left the townspeople mad at her for ignoring the ongoing problem. In 1780, Marie Antoinette birthed a son, Louis-Joseph, Dauphin of France, and another daughter in 1786, Princess Sophie. MOVIE When the French Revolution broke out, the royal family opted to stay in France which led the people to be angry. Soon after, they were forced by the people to leave Versailles and transfer to Tuileries. This 1 marked the end of the Rule of King Louis XVI and the end of the movie.

FASHION omen's fashion consisted of a stomacher, bodice, pagoda sleeves, and paniers. The stomacher was a triangle of richly decorated stuff which masked the bodice opening. A pagoda sleeve, on the other hand, is a funnel-shaped outer sleeve turned back to expose an inner sleeve and lining. A bodice is the close-fitting waist-length garment which is used to cover the chest and back above the waist. Laslty, paniers are stiff underskirt fitted with circular boned hoops worn under the robe volante. The panier is what gave the overall shape Wof the skirt. It was later innovated to take form of an oblong which spread the fulness of the gown to both sides of the hips. FASHION The film featured French Rococo footwear which were half closed and half open. These footwear had added height which makes them heels. Another evident accessory during this time was the hand held fan that most of the women had in the film. Another accessory is the headdresses of the women. These headdresses, unlike recent periods, were simpler and were not as extravagant. Laslty, the color palette evident in the fashion are light pastel colors 2 which are similar to what was used for their interiors.
