Announcements Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee - Dr. Lorene Robinson Congratulations Dr. Lorene K. Robinson, DSU Class of '77 and '19, as Dr. Robinson will be inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame in Atlanta. Dr. Robinson was honored in the Lifetime Achievement category for her 35 years of service to Delaware State University's Division of Institutional Advancement. Dr. Robinson retired last fall as the director of donor relations. Congratulations Dr. Allen - Life Member of DSUAA! DSUAA presented Dr. Tony Allen and his finance, Tara Anderson with their DSUAA Life Membership Card and certificates at the home football game on 9/25/21

Local Chapter Announcements New Castle County Chapter We are excited to announce that the New Castle County Alumni Chapter is growing and we have 85 Chapter Members. We would like to invite other DSU Alumni in the New Castle County area to join our local chapter. We meet the 4th Tuesday of each Month. Please reach out to [email protected] to get additional information on how to join the chapter and access Chapter activities. The Chapter hosted a very well attended Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 featuring the DSU Athletic Department. Those in attendance had the opportunity to meet and speak with Alecia Shields-Gadson, DSU Director of Athletics and the DSU Athletic Coaching Staff. The Chapter looks forward to meeting with Justin Rodstrom, Director of Major Gifts in October 2021 as he discusses some of the new things that the Division of Institutional Advancement is doing around endowments and planned giving. Greater Washington Chapter The Greater Washington Chapter of DSUAA is participating in the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's. If you would like to participate either in-person or virtually, please join the Greater Washington Chapter's team by registering using the link below. There is no cost to participate, but if you would like to donate to support the Alzheimer's Foundation, donations may be submitted also using the registration link below. The Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held on Saturday, October 9, on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The GWC team will be meeting at 9am to participate in the walk together in person, as there will be adequate space for the team to walk and be a comfortable distance from one another. Past Events 11th Annual President's Prayer Breakfast The 11th Annual President's Prayer Breakfast took place on Friday, September 24th. The event theme was \"Faith, Unity, and Change in a Time of Transition\". The keynote speaker was Dr. William H. Curtis, Senior Pastor of Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Pa. DSUAA Chaplain Cheryl Latney Bridges shared a prayer for Health and Healing. \"Pre-Homecoming Mixer\" with DSU's Graduate Student Association DSUAA partnered with the Graduate Student Association to provide a \"Pre-Homecoming Mixer\" to students on September 25, 2021.

Past Events Sussex County Chapter The Sussex County Chapter of DSUAA hosted the DSU Approaching Storm Band at Rehoboth Beach. In the bottom middle photo picture is the Sussex County Chapter President Bernard W. Carr, and the Chairwoman Elizabeth Allen who has coordinated the event in recent years 2021 Convocation The 2021 University Convocation took place on September 23rd, featuring alumna Dr. Quincy Rose-Sewell as the keynote speaker. Join DSUAA Today! Membership is available to all graduates and former DSU students who attended for one year or more. Active DSUAA membership is achieved by paying annual dues, ranging from $50.00 to $1,000.00 for Life Memberships. Payment of dues to the DSUAA provides the funds for the organization to carry out its goals and objectives, specifically for its operations and initiatives relative to the support of university programs and the achievement of university goals. As members of the association, alumni can also take advantage of great benefits including voting privileges in the DSU Alumni Association, 10% discount at the DSU Bookstore, Networking Opportunities, and more! The fiscal year shall be July 1 to June 30. Membership dues are to be paid during each fiscal year. More information on the types of Memberships, Rights and Benefits of Membership, and the link to pay your Membership dues is listed below.
