Questions and Comments: 1.Dr. Chase commented that in the future the body should receive a copy of the proposed budget ahead of time so an informed decision can be made. 2.Where is the line item in the budget for mailing? Response: Shawnzetta responded by saying it would be included in the administrative line item. Al Weal stated that there should be a separate line item for mailing. The budget will be updated to include a mailing line item for $2,000. 3.Darnesha Eddinfield asked about the bereavement line item. Is it for active alumni? Is it for parents, spouses, etc…? Response: Shawnzetta stated that the committee still has to work on the details. Moment of Silence for Deceased Alumni Chaplain Dawn Wade Gibson began with Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” She then proceeded with a moment of silence for our deceased alumni. Chaplain’s Report Chaplain Dawn was instrumental in implementing a platform new to the alumni association. (Prayer Matters) PRAYER MATTERS was a platform designed out of love used as a tool to give hope, encouragement, and inspire the alumni. During the first 2 years, Prayer Matters was presented bi-monthly on the DSUAA Facebook page. Then, it went to Facebook Live. Conference calls were provided for a more intimate gathering. DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HONOR THE PAST, ENSURE THE FUTURE DSUAA National Convention Minutes - June 19, 2021 - Part 12 Presentation of New Proposed DSUAA Logo Leah Williams presented the potential new DSUAA Logo. She reached out to the DSU marketing team and a new Logo was created. The proposed Logo was designed to fit in with the university’s new branding to include the updated Hornet. The goal of changing the Logo is to ensure that DSUAA is easily recognized by the students on campus and within the community. The updated Logo is more attractive to the next generation. Question: Are other Logo options available? Response: No, this is what the university has approved; however, if there are other suggestions, we would go back to the university for a new design. Leah made a motion to accept this new design as DSUAA’s official Logo. It was properly moved and second by Nicole Hughery. Discussion: Audrey Chase would like more options for the new Logo from the alumni body to fit our needs before we vote for this one option drafted by the university. Dr. Taylor commented that the Hornet in this proposed Logo is the approved Logo for marketing purposes and is recognized throughout the business community. So, whatever is drafted using the Hornet, this is the Hornet that has to be used. Albert Weal suggested that this body give the executive board the authority to review and accept other options concerning the DSUAA Logo. The body doesn't have enough selections to make this decision today. Leah tabled the motion to get other options and then will be presented at a later date. Albert Weal made a motion that this body gives the executive board the authority to select the Logo once other options are presented. Arnold Nearn seconded the motion. (A poll was launched: 27 yes, 5 no, and 3 abstain.) The recommendation was approved.

DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HONOR THE PAST, ENSURE THE FUTURE DSUAA National Convention Minutes - June 19, 2021 - Part 13 Proposed Bylaws Amendment Changes Dr. Reba Hollingsworth moved the acceptance of the following proposed Bylaw amendment. Section 1: Local Chapters/Affinity Chapters. E. The Association shall charter Affinity chapters consisting of ten or more Class A Members who may reside in various geographical locations throughout the US and abroad. Discussion: Albert Weal posed the following questions, can any member of the Affinity group be a member of both the local chapter and Affinity chapter? Do they pay dues to both? What is their voting status at the national level? Would the Affinity chapter be the responsibility of the foundation, the alumni office, and/or the university? Response: Dr. Marcia Taylor stated that geography is less important now in the world of social media; it is who you connect to. For example, the Swarm has over 1300 members; if we allow them to turn that into a chapter, look at how many members can come into DSUAA from just that group. She answered the next question: they should be able to pay dues in as many chapters as they are members. Hugh Williams cautioned the Affinity groups will have access to voting, they could sway or move the Association in any direction they prefer. After further discussion, Dr. Hollingsworth suggested postponing this amendment so the Bylaws Committee can go back and look at the other Bylaws that could be affected. She is recommending a special Bylaws committee meeting to look at all of the other ramifications that could impact this decision. It can then be voted on by the body after that meeting. The vote was postponed. Dr. Hollingsworth presented another bylaws amendment. Section 8: Dues and Fees. The Association shall be financed by dues and fees from members and by appropriate contributions. Members of the Association shall pay both national and local dues annually beginning June 1 for the upcoming fiscal year. (This changes the date from July 1 to June 1.) Dr. Hollingsworth moved the acceptance of the suggested amendment on behalf of the committee. There was no discussion. (A poll was launched: 27 yes, 0 no, and 4 abstain) The motion carried. Dr. Hollingsworth presented another bylaws amendment. Article XI.These Bylaws may be amended at the National Convention by a 2/3 vote of financial Class A members present and voting.Proposed amendments must be published to the membership at least 30 days prior to the National Convention. (This changes from 60 to 30.)Dr. Hollingsworth moved the acceptance of the suggested amendment. There was no discussion. (A poll was launched: 30 yes, 0 no, 3 abstain) The motion carried.

DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HONOR THE PAST, ENSURE THE FUTURE Local Chapter Reports - Florida Chapter - Part 1 Chapter Activities from: June 1, 2021 - June 1, 2022 Following the year of The Pandemic, the Florida Chapter Executive Committee agreed to resume regular monthly meetings and activities on a regular basis and to regain lost momentum. The only way to answer our questions and concerns was to 'Go For It!!' Our efforts reflected a very different yet productive 2021 -2022 year of picking up and moving forward. The results of the Team’s efforts are outlined below; we are very pleased! MONTHLY MEETINGS A total of eight (8) Zoom meetings were held consisting of six (6) with a quorum and two (2) without. The discussions were lively and productive. MEMBERSHIP (In State and Out of State) Our current membership consists of nineteen (19) Financial and fifty-seven (57) on the Roster. A membership drive produced three new members who joined because: 1. Relocated to Florida (Life Member)” 2. “Long Overdue; I love what the Chapter is doing.” 3. Recent DSU Aviation Graduate who resides in Maryland but wanted to align with our Chapter due to its engagement, influence and impact on the students over the years. Life Members: 5 Hall of Fame Members: 7 Former Miss DSC: 2 This year all financial members received a complimentary Chapter Aviation T-shirt which was very well received. FUNDRAISING/SPECIAL PROJECTS Recognizing there would be no face to face activities. we decided a different approach, we designed a custom aviation t-shirt as an outreach and to date we have sold forty-one (41) shirts locally and nationally with great enthusiasm.

DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HONOR THE PAST, ENSURE THE FUTURE Local Chapter Reports - Florida Chapter - Part 2 We are currently engaged in our biggest project endeavor ever which consists of the painting of a DSU Aviation plane from our fleet in the World War II markings of the late Lt Col Leo R. Gray a Tuskegee Airmen Red Tail Pilot who was a long time Florida resident and great advocate of DSU Aviation. To date, only seven (7) pilots remain). These funds will go towards airplane painting and our Aviation Scholarship/Support Programs. Goal: $10,000.00 Collections to date: $7,925.00 The plane will be unveiled with a reception at the Hangar this fall; details to follow later. Donations are welcome!! STUDENT SUPPORT The Sunshine Chapter is now in its seventh (7th) year of continuous student support and is a year-round program throughout the school year. Needs vary from Freshman to Seniors as they enter various phases and levels of their education and flight training. We provide book scholarships, headphones, trip computers, kneeboards, flight bags and fees for various FAA testing and certification as well as mentoring. This year we expanded our outreach support to the newly formed Delaware Women in Aviation Program which was formed by our female DSU Aviation Students. The group recently received their charter as The Diamond State Chapter part of the National network organization. GOOD WILL Our two Chaplains send greeting cards, personal outreach and other support to our members upon notice of celebrations, sickness and death. SUMMARY The Florida Sunshine Chapter is enthusiastic, financially and spirituality sound. We are looking forward to this coming and future years of innovation, engagement and continued progress as we proudly support Delaware State University. Respectfully submitted, Arnold D Nearn, Jr. President DSUAA Florida Alumni Chapter Member Delaware State University Aviation Advisory Board Vice-president Miami Chapter Tuskegee Airmen

Currently, we are excitedly planning an explosive Arts Festival on November 5, 2022; featuring alumni artists, sculptures, posts, musicians, spoken word artists, choirs, authors, dancers, visual artists, videographers and many others. Save the date! Our plans are to close out the year with a Graduation Party for our Kent County 2022 DSU graduates. We continue to remain financially solvent. It's been a real good year! Respectfully submitted, Geraldine J. Jones, PhD President KCCDSUAA May 17, 2022
