PATH Nasscom What is NASSCOM? The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) is the industry association for Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry sector in India. C.P. Gurnani is the Chairman of NASSCOM 2016-17, who is also the CEO and managing director of Tech Mahindra. A not-for-profit organization funded by the industry, its objective is to build a growth led and sustainable technology and business services sector in the country. Established in 1988, NASSCOM' s membership has grown over the years and currently stands at 1,500+. These companies represent 95 percent of industry revenues and have enabled the association to spearhead initiatives and programs to build the sector in the country and globally. NASSCOM members are active participants in the new global economy and are admired for their innovative business practices, social initiatives and thrust on emerging opportunities. “ RIGHT DO IT BIG “ Introduction to NASSCOM Product Conclave NASSCOM Product Conclave is a platform exclusively for the startups registered with the NASSCOM. These are regional events and give a chance to startups to showcase their products, interact with industry experts, expand their business network, etc. It is a one-day event which gives you the flexibility to network with some of the top-notch investors and form new allies. It also consists of various workshops to improve your business prowess and learn about the strategic partnerships. Speaking of the event, Mr. R. Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM mentioned, “The IT industry is transforming simultaneously across various avenues. With the immense amount of data that is now online, clubbed with the mass adoption of cloud and big data technologies, it is imperative to address the existing issues around big data as well as cyber security. The Conclave aims to discuss this transformation that the industry is going through and create solutions in accordance”. NASSCOM Product Conclave is held at various places round the year. The first Product Conclave of 2016 was th th held in Pune on March 17 , and the second one is going to be held in Hyderabad on May 20 . 4 | VOICE

PATH Why should I know about it? The NASSCOM Product Conclave is a National-level event and an opportunity for the people of software and services industry to showcase their talents and lead to a better future. So if you have got any ideas that can potentially attract the investors to fund you for it, then the NPC is your stop. Now, we are not saying that the competition is going to be easy. More than 600 people come with their ideas on this one-day event, so yours have to be really appealing to the investors. If you are a novice in the start-up race, then you should definitely attend the Conclave to gulp down the idea that starting a company from scratch is no easy-to-go ride. Interact with the members of NASSCOM and know how they worked very hard to reach where they are today. If you think that Microsoft and Apple were started in a garage by couple of people then you can too, then you surely are misled, my friend! At that time, the competition was not-so-tough and the technologies developed were very limited, so there was a lot of room for improvement. Now, there are more than 10 million apps on the App Store. You think that your idea can create its own space? Terrified? Don't be. Work hard and you'll get there. The benefits I'll get by becoming a NASSCOM member NASSCOM Membership provides a unique opportunity for an organization and its professionals to engage and drive thought leadership in activities, forums and industry groups. On becoming a NASSCOM member, one gets benefits like focusing on companies about how they emerge from absolutely nowhere, networking with biggest startups and investors, education and talent development for future growth, access to the industry trends, being a part of initiatives taken within NASSCOM, and what not? The membership fee starts from ?5,000/annum and varies according to your annual revenues. Conclusions Steve Jobs quoted, “The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” So, if you think that your idea can change the world or at least can do betterment to the community through the means of information technology, then the NASSCOM Product Conclave is your sure-shot guide. nd -Pancham Khaitan (2 Year, IT) 5 | VOICE
