Diocese of Bombay In the current year 2021-2022, even as we were going through the pandemic and its second lockdown and second wave effects – with many members unable to move out of their houses and children having online classes - our central committee and the various units were hampered in the regular functions of the OCYM. Youth members of our diocese joined with the Diocese in the special online prayer sessions that saw a great participation during the lockdown days. Local level activities, where feasible, were commendably done by many OCYM units across the diocese. The office bearers of our diocese, who were due to stepdown the previous year, continued in their positions as physical meetings were not possible to take decisions and other uncertainties that prevailed at the time. The Dr. Philipos Mar Theophilus Memorial Orthodox Youth Hostel at Sakinaka, was also affected, with inmates having gone back during the initial lockdown and very few were able to come back during the year. Election of new office bearers at the combined unit representatives and central committee meeting: With the exceptional circumstances of the pandemic, a combined meeting was held online, on the 28th Feb, 2022 – of representatives of all units, as well as the diocesan central committee members – to elect the new office bearers for the OCYM Bombay Diocese.
