Glimpse of this week Diwali celebration Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across In- dia. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To make stu- dents understand the importance of Di- wali, Dunes had a celebration in school on 29th october 2019. Teachers ex- plained the importance of Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ig- norance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Children decorated diyas with colors and glitter. They shared Diwali sweets among their classmates and teachers . Dunes team made a rangoli at the school entrance to mark Diwali . 2

Math activity Students had written a multiplica- tion fact on the paper. Then they showed the multiplication fact in different forms like repeated addi- tion ,equal groups and arrays. They represented it in the form of pic- tures. Through this activity students learned relation between multipli- cation fact and addition fact. 7

LETTER WRITING There are a couple of things which are progressively vanishing from our lives, and with it some age-old traditions are vanish- ing as well. Letter writing is no more a so- cial practice. It is an impression of the con- tinuous float we involvement in cutting edge living. Accepting a letter via mail is a delight which present era youngsters have never known. Opening an envelope which has their name on it in a well known pen- manship, a letter communicating a grand- parent's adoration is a blessing one appre- ciates for a lifetime. A long time later when you find a letter from a friend or family member, you remember the mi- nute and pure delights of child. Grade 2 students learned the formal letter format and its importance, and also wrote a thank you letter to Hazza Al Mansouri for motivating them to achieve their dreams with determination and courage. 8

By doing this activity grade two students were made paper boat and stuck and drawn plant picture as well in their note book . This helped them to recall few new words easily in Hindi and it will help to Increase their vocab- ulary as well. 9

In this activity the students cut the pictures of the UAE clothes and they color the pictures and put the pictures in the notebook In this activity we have linked the les- son with UAE identity. Where the students know UAE clothes. 10

Concentration is focus of the mind, the ability to hold the awareness of your mind on one point, one place, without wa- vering.Concentration is vital for everything that you do in life because it prevents the mind from wandering aimlessly in all directions. Without concentration you can achieve noth- ing.Work done with a concentrated mind becomes more enjoy- able. During this activity students list out the incorrect words from the story and they understood the importance of concen- tration 11

Topic. Honesty Able to mention the importance of honesty. Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “You must be truthful. Verily, truthful- ness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and encourages honesty until he is recorded with Allah as truthful. And beware of falsehood. Verily, falsehood leads to wicked- ness and wickedness leads to the Hellfire. A man continues tell lies and encourages false- hood until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5743, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2607 The students of Grade 2 enthusiastically par- ticipated in the activity conducted in the class. They created a mind-map explaining the im- portance of honesty in our life. 13

Year of Tolerance The move will highlight the UAE as a global capital for tolerance, via its various legislative and policy- oriented goals to enhance the role of the country in instilling the val- ues of co-existence and peace in local, regional and international communities.
